When the fight is between my team and a team team that have got little advantage over the favourite I'll prefer to bet on my team. I'm not sure of the win, but placing against my team will let me have a thinking of opponent to win the match. This ir not fair according to me, and for this reason most of my bets will favour the favourite team. There arises question, when the team loss the bet will be a loss and this will make you feel very bad. My bets won't be very big, and for that reason the loss won't hurt much, whereas the wins will be more enjoyable.

If you know your club then you are better placed to bet for or against them anyone else.  The big problem is staying impartial vs other teams prospects.   But if you know for sure they are just not performing even to their own best selves then what else can you do.    To justify this bet, put the money won in the team loss towards the next season ticket for that team.  They'll come around but sometimes it wont be until a full season has passed.  Its hard to stay impartial but I would never say never.

I did a similar post years ago, and based on my previous paragraph if my favorite team is not too far in the odds I go with it and if they are too high or against, well common sense, there is no escape that justifies doing to right bet.
I don't want to risk losing a lot of money by betting on my team when they are not performing well. It simply doesn't make sense. However if the odds are relatively similar such as my team being at @2.5 to win while the other team is at 2.2, I would definitely consider betting on my team to win the game.

My point here is that I won't bet on my team when I know there's no hope for them to win. But if there's a 50/50 chance or even a 30% chance for my team to win I'll definitely place my bet on my team. Smiley
I don't know how peoole see and judge this things but I'm not even sure if your team might want to bet on themselves  if they're not doing well.
I've never been a die hard fan  of any club though  I have my favorite  club but that doesn't justify  the fact that I shoukd bet on my favorite  club when they're  far behind 😪.
I agree with you  Aikidoka and I might consider betting on my team if they have 50/50 probability not when the probability is far bow 30.
I personally  gamble to make some extra cash and not to support my team and I watch football matches if I want to support my team and not when the case is in messing money.
Aikidoka made a very good point, I was on the side of never losing money on my team if they are not doing well, and there is no hope for them to win, I never considered the true fact that there could be times when my team along side the other team could have a 50/50 chances of winning, or maybe in the worst case scenario, have up to 40 percent chances of winning the match, in such a case, I will surely bet on my team and cheer for them to win, but in any case a team I consider my fav has a below 40 percent chances of winning the match, I will seriously  not want to lose my money on them, supporting a club has never been a do or die affair, why should I lose my hard earned money on. Purpose in the name supporting a football club.?.

I usually do the same. I'm always objective when I try to play my bets. I don't allow sentiments or my personal interests to cloud my judgement. As much as I'd like my team to win, It's better to win a bet and compensate myself for my team's loss than to lose on all fronts. For me, anything less than a 60% chance, means I'm backing the opposing team to win. I was in an exact situation like this last season when my team was still struggling to get points, they went up against City and I backed City to win. Nothing personal, I was just being objective.

Common sense and probabilities, as simple as that, because first of all you have to be a fan of common sense and probabilities  Wink

I did a similar post years ago, and based on my previous paragraph if my favorite team is not too far in the odds I go with it and if they are too high or against, well common sense, there is no escape that justifies doing to right bet.
A very common approach on which if you do see there's a huge gap when it comes to odds then you wouldn't really be that dumb on forcing yourself to bet still with your favorite and its true that if the odds arent really that too far off  then i might really be having that consideration but if not then it would really just that common sense that you should really be betting out on which team or player athlete would really be most likely to win. You arent here on sticking yourself into someone just because you do like them but doesnt mean that you would be risking out your money even you do know that chances of winning is slim.
Yes, gambling should really be for fun but it wont mean that you do make yourself get blind just because you do like them.Even the situation or odds showing about those winning chances
are slim then it would be just right that you should adjust according to it.
Common sense will always tell us the right thing to do even though we have enough funds to risk. Gambling is fun and anyone who see it like that can decide to bet on his club even though the odd shows that the opponent will win the game. Some fans will not want to accept the odds and will believe that the game will still change in their favor.

I know that any gambler who is after profit will not mind his club and will bet against his club if he is certain that his club will not win. I am a die hard fan of my club but I wouldn't bet on my club if I know that there is no hope for them in winning the game.
But there really indeed people who are really that extremely devoted or being that a loyal fan on a certain player or team on which despite of the disadvantage, they would really still make up those bets
which is absurd or you would really be having those questions on mind on how the heck they would really be still betting or they are just simply accepting their losses before the match begins?
Peoples mind is really that different to each other and thats why we do make out those kind of questions on which you dont know on whats their personal reason but well its their
money so its their right on how they should gonna spend it but in overall and just making use of your common sense then you would always go with the team which does have the high
chance on winning a certain match to make profits.

But don't you increase negative emotions in the event of the defeat of your favorite team? Personally, this option seems unpleasant to me, although of course I understand that if my favorite team wins, plus I get additional profit for their victory, this is the height of bliss. But it seems to me that I already eschew too strong emotions  Grin

Information and acknowledged the fact that one's team is not strong enough to win an opponent is pure analysis and statistics. I'm a die-hard fan of my team, and I've never once placed a loss on them; instead, I'm always looking for enormous profits in the system. If I am convinced that my team will lose or has no chance of beating their opponent, I just skip that game since losing is not an option that we should consider. Betting against your favorite team is not the correct thing to do; it's more like being glad about their misfortunes. Betting against my club is never an option for me; I gamble, but it's impossible for me to support the opposing team.

Sorry to say but you're not a gambler. As a gambler your concern should focus on making profits and not allow your emotions to mix with your gambling. What if your team is the only game available to bet on that day? You won't bet at all? You need to be serious with your gambling life I must say. I see absolutely nothing wrong betting against your team if odds is against them. As painful as it will be, my pocket comes first. No love better than self love after all.

A Bitcoiner chooses. A slave obeys.
I do not see anything wrong against betting against your club. Why would there be? If a fan is so devoted to the point where he thinks that idolizing a certain team makes him become part of a superior group of people. Basically nationalism but with loyalty to a team instead of a nation. Those kind of fanatics go too far and can cause real harm. No matter how much you love your team, unconditional devotion is plain stupidity. If there is a 100% certainty that your team is not going to do so well in the game, then you should bet on the team which you think will win.

Bet smart, not devoted.

Naturally, if you are an avid fan of one club, it doesn't make sense to bet against your own favorite team, especially if you are a fanatical fan, of course you will always defend the club, whether in a match that you lose or win, but indeed If in gambling we find a high probability of winning against our favorite team, of course that is a wise thing, because the orientation is the profit generated, I think it is even more necessary to choose a club that has a higher chance of winning than forcing a bet on the team we like but the probability of winning is very small.
I also often do that.

This thread reminds me of a piece of news that was broadcast in Colombia, some fans who always support their favorite team and they say that even if they lose they will always find support, I am surprised because that type of fanaticism is in the family, it is said, father , mother and children, they share the same love for their favorite team and that is something that I do not know if it is completely right, because they usually feel many mixed emotions when their team loses, and they do not see mistakes, one as a fan must know when our favorite team plays badly and the fact that they play badly should not be supported, because then where is the emotion? where the true meaning of soccer is, mediocrity in soccer can never be supported, the same fans should punish their team by letting them know, that has happened in my country, they casitagan the team by barring the other team and it seems incredible but they react and they play better.

The orientation in my opinion is different sir, if only limited to fans who favored his team to form an emotional in personality is a natural thing, because it is a favorite team, and may be said that they are fanatical fans, it makes you someone who is not Caring about the defeat even though they understand the mistakes made by their favorite team, but rarely to make them stop supporting. I saw that when Dortmund fans learned that Dortmund was not the winner of the Bundesliga, but they were loyal to his team, and instead they felt proud even though the team he supported lost.
But it is different in the case of gambling, where the orientation is the advantage of the average person who bet, even though he has a favorite team, if his favorite team has a small probability, the option to choose is the opposing team of the favorite team.

The thing is that, sports bets are not the same as other gambling games where players play for fun,  but in sports bets,  it's all about winning so is not for being a fan but for winning in the bets,  and if the team playing against your team is stronger and likely to win the match then the club will get my winning ticket because it far better to win the bet by selecting the other team instead losing it because you want to show solidarity to your team.

So for me yes,  I would pick a club that will win and not based on being a fan of the other and lose my bet.
Yes, if we draw it into the realm of gambling, then we will think realistically here, even though the club that will compete and will be the opponent for the club that we are betting on is our favorite club or our favorite club.
Precisely this is our chance to be able to increase our chances of winning the bet, because we will definitely know the strengths of our favorite club better and of course with everything we see which club has more potential to win the match. For me the best bet is our favorite club, whether it will be the club we will bet on or vice versa.
This might be an indication of its own advantages in soccer betting, if the team that will take place one of them is a favorite team, it provides an easier analysis, we understand the weaknesses and strengths that exist in our favorite team and with that we only need to bend it and see the probability.

If you are a really die-hard fan (no matter how much you are into them), then I think it is not best to bet on the opposite team, but as a gambler, favoritism is not included unless you want to lose because you bet to win for that money, and if the odds or if the other team is stronger than your favorite team, then there is no choice but to bet on the stronger one because we know that our chances to win are huge. I am not a fan of football, but I do really like basketball, and when I don't bet,  that is when I become a die-hard fan, but if I do bet, I do choose the team that has higher chances.

It makes sense and very realistic.
In real life or social media, we may show openly and continuously that we support our favorite club, whoever the opponent is and whatever the conditions are. In fact, sometimes we don't even accept the ridicule of our favorite club, especially when we lose. As a die-hard fan of a club, I will always support you with words and prayers.

but if it was in the world of gambling, it would be very different. In gambling, our main goal is to make money, so I personally wouldn't associate my favorite club, it's just more realistic to see the various opportunities whoever might win, that's what I'll stick to. Because, no one knows if I choose which club I will bet on, right? Hehehe

I got my own team the im a die hard fan and i could never bet against them. Its just not in my blood even if i knew that my team was gonna lose the match or something i couldnt bet against them. This is just something that you cannot due if you are a die hard fan. In all my life so far i never betted against my own team and i never will . Its just not right to do
So if your favorite club is playing against a stronger club you decide not to place any bets?
Come on man, there are many other ways to get an advantage in that match even though you don't have to place a bet on the opposing club but you can bet on who will score the first goal or bet on guess the score.
Don't waste matches that you can predict even if your favorite club loses but you can still benefit from this match by not betting on the opposing club.
