If it happens that I have to place a bet against my club to win the bet I'm certain I won't have a second thought about it.

But if we feel that we could feel guilty about making a decision, we should do nothing but just sit back and watch the game. There's still plenty of time to place a bet on another team, so there's no feeling of guilt. And it's better if we don't use emotions in placing bets because of that guilt. Maybe some will still place bets for the team as a form of support but some do not place bets so it will return to each person. Maybe skipping the match will make our hearts calm and not think about anything, especially guilt if we don't support the team.

If you are die hard fan then you would be making out those blind bets despite on being that too obvious on whose the favorite or would likely to win. It isnt really that bad on having that kind of behavior

Fair point. I don't view betting on favorite team as a support because our bets doesn't reach them also betting against them is not a form of betrayal because you simply acknowledge your team wekaness over their opponent which we should knew very well because we are always watching their games and follow their performance.

We are betting to gain some money and not to support favorite teams. I will watch their games if I want to support them but not through betting because it's just a waste on betting to them while we know that the chance of winning is very low.

It actually depends in the gambler's perspective because at the end of the day, they are more as a gambler rather than just a fan who is afraid to bet against the team that they are a fan of. I mean, let's just be honest because betting against the team that we liked doesn't really mean that we are not that loyal to them because in the first place, that's not even a description of what a loyal fan would be.
We are here to bet and make money even if it means betting against them besides the entertainment we are getting as we surely don't want to be in the losing side just to be called loyal. Nobody will know, trust me.

Most people imagine football is the one that people talk about, but when we start to talk about other sports that makes more sense to play against your own team. Like for example I am a big Spurs fan in NBA, san Antiono spurs not Tottenham one. And we have won 5 rings, that's a huge deal, not a lot of people have 5 rings, we have Duncan who did for example. This is why I believe that we are at a level where it is an elite team and unmatched by many other teams, only a few won more than us ever.

However, we suck right now, hopefully with Wemby we will do better, but all year long I have wagered against my favorite team, because Spurs never really won anything and I feel like it wasn't that hard to go against us, I knew we would lose.

I don't watch football matches that much, so I am unsure if this is the question for gamblers like me. But, sometimes, I place bets on cricket games. If you know your opponent's team is way stronger and your team is likely to lose the game, you can definitely place a bet against your team. But, if there is a 70% and 30% chance, still I will choose my team to place a bet. If the percentage is more than that, then I will not place a bet at all. But, if it's 90-10, there we go, buddy. I am sorry for my team. But make sure the amount is not too much so you can support your team as well. This is a win-win situation.
