I do bets even if the odds aren't good or I know that the team that I support isn't in good shape in support of them. But this is just happening for sometimes when I think that I'm okay to lose money. I am not die hard as the others but that's just a way for me to support a club or team that I really like. It's not that a lot of money to lose and could just be a snack amount but, it's a way for me to show I like these teams but I'll never go beyond that with an amount that I can't afford to lose.
I get you as I'm also doing that, sometimes, when watching a game I place some bet even I fully know that my team might lose the game but I still place my spare money to show some support and also to add some entertainment while watching the game, but like you, it's just a spare amount, some money that I'm willing to let go for my entertainment.

Not really a fan of being a heavy gambler where throwing huge amount just to support the team that I'm idolizing.

After all, that is how we show our support and loyalty towards our beloved team. It may not be our national team or our own team that is directly connected to us but what can we do, it is the team where our mind is into. Even though there are some times that their chances are not that strong, we are still supporting them from betting in favor of them and putting our little contribution towards them. Anyway, it's not a big deal even if I lose the bet or not, after all, it is my way to entertain myself and to show my support especially if a fellow kababayan is playing or fighting in other sports.

Well, business is business. There isn't any cons on betting against your club, as the objective here is to predict who is going to win and not to cheer for one team or another.
Exactly.

The club owners and members and other fans won't even get mad at you just because you see the odds is better than the opponent and you think that your favorite club will lose this day. People wouldn't even care if you lose, so why care for the thoughts of others since you're not even associated with the entire club and you're just the same as the others for being a fan.

at the end of the day, what matters is how much you have in your pockets? that is true, people won't care if you lose or not. so better think of yourself and not others.
without a doubt, some people even bet on the opposite team if they see such advantage. after all, people do care about their financial gain on this activity, whether you are a die-hard fan or not.
Yes.

It's all about how much you've got. You can do whatever you want with any amount on your pocket whether to bet it for your favorite club or to their opponent.

Nobody really cares unless you're part of a circle of truly die hard fans of your favorite clubs/teams and you tell them that you never bet for that club. They might mock you but who cares, it isn't their money and you're the one taking the risk.

That's why let's just go with the reality and people shouldn't care as well for other people's validation. I thought that it's just for some case but even in gambling which is another personal matter, everyone shouldn't intidimated such as betting for your likes or not.

We are fans of different football clubs, and whenever there is football banter, we never fail to take sides with our respective clubs. We stand by them no matter what because that's what being a fan of a football club is all about - unwavering loyalty. However, not all of our favorite clubs perform well. A typical case study is Chelsea, who have had one of their worst performances this season, currently occupying the 11th position. The challenges they have faced this season are unlike any other. Just last night, they were brutally defeated by Manchester United, who showed them no mercy, to the extent that they didn't even celebrate one of their goals.

As a gambler and a die-hard fan of a club that has been having a terrible season, would you bet against your club, knowing that their loss would be your financial gain? Or would you stay loyal and not bet against them?

Interesting question.

I am a fan of Arsenal and Barcelona, and when one of these teams plays a game, for example against a strong team like Manchester City. maybe I still bet on Arsenal, even though the probability of winning is not as big as City. however, because this match is a match that concerns the team we like. automatically, we will support the idol team. however, there are more ideal ways to bet. at least, bookies provide some options. well, we match the choice with the situation of the team. or, betting with ospi handicap, Over/Under, both teams to score, and all kinds available. why, yes, we have to be realistic. Even though in football anything can happen, that doesn't mean we will let our money just disappear by betting without calculation, analysis and all kinds of things.

Especially if we refer to your post, United vs Chelsea. in theory United is superior to Chelsea, because the two teams have quite a different gap. United is experiencing a positive trend, while Chelsea is in a downturn. to prevent us from losing money on betting, there are many options available. Or, better yet, don't bet at all.

As a gambler and a die-hard fan of a club that has been having a terrible season, would you bet against your club, knowing that their loss would be your financial gain? Or would you stay loyal and not bet against them?

You're not getting a lot if you're betting against your favorite team where you are a die-hard, so I'll just skip it and just cheer for your favorite team there will be times when my favorite team will build up so I can continue betting for them if you're betting against them it's like betraying your loyalty to the team, you are not a die-hard fan in a real sense, you're just a casual fan.

Depends on the person's perspective because there is actually no rule that says about prohibiting in gambling against your favorite team especially if you are a die-hard fan of them but others will say the opposite because that it's just an unwritten rule as that is one of the factors of being a loyal to your club. Although for me, all sides have a point but I put my gambling and support in two different things. So in plain answer, yes, I will bet against my team especially if there are times that their chances are not that strong and this kind of scenario has already happened to me before, just like in NBA.

Different people have different opinions about this, of course. Like, I believe that my loyalty towards my team will always be there no matter what, but if I know that the team we are playing against is very balanced and has got everything to win and we haven't been performing so well throughout the season. I will of course still cheer for my team and hope that they win, but if the odds are good, I might place a bet on the opponent.

I believe finances should be kept aside from your emotion or from things you are emotionally attached to, it's the rule of a business or anything that you do to earn money, you simply do that without having any feelings for anything or else you won't be able to earn money.

If you feel like you are betraying your fav team, just don't bet at all.

Gamblers look at it differently because often times they don't have favorite team. They analyze probability of which team could win. They take side to whoever has the chance of winning. I would say they are more fan of the sport than a fan of a team.

I can support my club and always wish them well to win every match they play for that is what makes a fan proud to talk about his or her club anywhere and amongst friends..

But when it comes to betting, that is getting money involved, I won't hesitate to bet against my club if I am very sure they are playing against another club that they might not be able to beat..

It's a simple analogy, my club consists of players who are earning money weekly or bi-weekly, they don't know who I am, they don't even know I exist, what exactly is the reason why I should deliberately loss my money for them?

I can support my team and cheer them to win, but when it comes to money, I am most careful how I invest it, if I know my club is likely not going to win a match, I will gladly bet on the opposition, money is not easy to come by, so there is no room to waste it.

If it's just for the money and entertainment, I don't think there's something wrong with betting against your favorite team. There are a lot of benefits to it too! The mere fact that it allows you to stay grounded and not embody being a die-hard fan of your team is already a big plus that will save you a lot of upfront discussions against other die-hards. Plus the indispensable advantage of knowing what your team can and cannot do is also in your hands, allowing you to make a clearer judgement on whether the team they will be playing against is good or not.

lastly, if the enemy does win the loss of your favorite team wouldn't hurt that much! Cause at least you got money from it! So it's not like you're not getting much from this ordeal, in fact you're getting a lot from just deciding to bet against your favorite team.

I usually avoid betting on my favorite team because gambling is about mathematics. Emotions shouldn't be involved in gambling. If you let your emotions make the decisions then you will make lots of wrong decisions and these wrong decisions will results in money loss in the long run. When you are dealing with money, you should be emotionless like a robot. That rule applies to trading as well. If you fall in love with an asset and refuse to sell it no matter how bad it performs, then you will suffer great losses.

Everyone is completely different, so it is normal that one soccer fan will never bet against his team, while another can easily do so. Each of us has different priorities - for some it's devotion to their team, and for others it's an opportunity to win money to have a good time with friends. So I can understand both. Personally, I bet against my hometown team when I realized that the team was significantly weaker due to an injury to one of its forwards. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Being an die-hard fan of any football club has never put food on my table or money in my wallet. But my love for the game through sports betting has. Then doesn't it make sense that I follow the path where I find a little bit of happiness and money doing it? Yes, sure it does. The world has some of the finest footballers that has lived and they are making history but then since they are doing what they do and are making money from it, why shouldn't I? Well, this is why I don't fan any club. I banter with friends, draw analysis and that's all. I bet for fun and see it more as a form of entertainment and not as a money making scheme.

It depends if you are profit-oriented and you are willing to sacrifice you're being a fan, when an opportunity is presented to you, why not take it its not every day you have an opportunity to make a profit but the opposing team should be an overwhelming favorite to beat your favorite team.
And you must let not anyone knows that you bet against your favorite team, or your friends will mock you for betraying your favorite team and they cannot call you a die-hard fan anymore.
Yes, some fans are willing to sacrifice for their favorite team and even go so far as to bet and defend their team. But it's true that if they place a bet on the opposing team, they must hide it from others. And that's where we need to be wise in playing gambling so that it won't harm anyone, including us. Maybe it's better not to place any bets on our team or vice versa. And it will depend on each person's goals when they see their favorite team playing.

Well, if we see them struggling, then that would be a good scenario to bet against them, right? In the first place, placing a bet shouldn't be subjective, so if you find them having bunch of disadvantage over their opponent(s), you should take that chance to win. Gambling is not a way to showcase one 's support for club, team, or anyone in sports.

As a gambler and a die-hard fan of a club that has been having a terrible season, would you bet against your club, knowing that their loss would be your financial gain? Or would you stay loyal and not bet against them?

Of course. It is one thing if I want my team to win, and another if I believe, on the basis of the most rational thinking possible, that my team will lose, and I bet accordingly. Besides, if I do that, if my team loses, I win money and if my team wins, I have lost the bet but at least my team has won, so I don't see a problem.

That 'loyalty' you talk about is rubbish, besides the fact that it is impossible for your team to win all the time.
That's why I don't think too much about loyalty when I find opportunities with opponents who are not favored against my favorite team, while for opponents with very high odds there's nothing wrong with seeking luck there because we know that not always our favorite club will continue to win, sometimes it often happens. lost to a bottom-of-the-table club by surprise.

I also often bet when there are opponents from favorite clubs with very high Odds, usually when the favorite team has won a tournament or has been confirmed to qualify for the preliminaries, sometimes the favorite team often plays not seriously so they may experience a surprising defeat, if there is an opportunity there is such a moment why not me to try it .

As a gambler and a die-hard fan of a club that has been having a terrible season, would you bet against your club, knowing that their loss would be your financial gain? Or would you stay loyal and not bet against them?

It is always hard for people to bet against the club thinking of loyalty but as for me i don't see anything like that. If my analysis go against my club I will bet against them to win my bet.even as a die fan I see money more important than the club I am supporting, in fact I am not a die fans  to the level that I will see way that I will make money and ignore it because of the  club  I am supporting.

This topic brings to mind a friend of mine who is a die-hard Arsenal fan. When Arsenal have match against Manchester city recently, he chose Arsenal to win the match, despite the analysis we conducted together showing that the match will favor Manchester City.he want ahead and still stake on Arsenal to win because he don't want to go against his club but he still want to bet match on the game, but I view that as madness.
