Yes. This is what I like (enjoying the game and supporting my favorite team).

Supporting your favorite team in any situation and condition in the form of a game is something that everyone, including us, definitely does.
In fact, I rarely even miss my favorite team's matches when they compete with any team.
And as you said, of course I separate the matter of bets (money) because talking about bets is talking about odds. Smiley

If the opportunity comes from the opposing team, then we have to think using the gambling brain, who is worth betting on, he will get his place. But maybe the number of bets I will use is less than what I usually use, because I also support my favorite team. and there are two advantages, when the favorite team loses then we will get a win from the bet, but when the favorite team wins we will get pleasure. That's fair enough isn't it and won't stress us out.

The answer actually depends on your reasons why you are betting. So answers will vary for each gambler. Because if you are there to actually support your team, man. regardless of whether they win or lose you will support them. But if it does mean losing your funds, do not risk your money knowing that you are giving it away. You can give your support in many other ways. If loyalty is a great big deal for you, you won't bet on the other side. BUT if money is more important to you, and based on your analysis the other team will win, you can make a large sum of money in there. Again it all depends on the reason why you are betting in the first place.
Are you there to give your support or are you there to make money? All still are your choice.
If it's only about supporting I better do it by cheering them inside the Arena. They can feel this then if you will only place a bet towards them in a Sports Betting site. They can be able to see if who is being favored by the public but it does not mean that all of those people are doing it as a way of supporting their idols.

I think most of them are only betting for that team thinking it will win and then they can earn a profit. If in case my favorite team is playing, maybe I will still stop betting for a while or I will just place a bet on other games, so that I won't have any hard feelings. I will still watch my team play in the television. Yes, this is the only thing that I can do because I don't like to travel and watch live games.

We are fans of different football clubs, and whenever there is football banter, we never fail to take sides with our respective clubs. We stand by them no matter what because that's what being a fan of a football club is all about - unwavering loyalty. However, not all of our favorite clubs perform well. A typical case study is Chelsea, who have had one of their worst performances this season, currently occupying the 11th position. The challenges they have faced this season are unlike any other. Just last night, they were brutally defeated by Manchester United, who showed them no mercy, to the extent that they didn't even celebrate one of their goals.
As a gambler and a die-hard fan of a club that has been having a terrible season, would you bet against your club, knowing that their loss would be your financial gain? Or would you stay loyal and not bet against them?

I am supporter of a football club but not really a die-hard fan. I am very happy when "my" club wins but it's not like my whole life is about football or something like that. I am not betting regularly, i only bet from time to time when i have some spare funds and i just want to place a bet again. When i bet, then i have no problem to place a bet that is against my team. I even see it as something positive. Let's say my club plays against some other club and i bet that the other club wins. So now i have something to be happy about when my team wins and when my team loses. The only total loss there would be a draw.

Message @Hhampuz if you are looking for a CM!
I can't put myself in a place of a die-hard fan because I've never been one but I watch some football and bet on sports and I'd bet against players and fighters that I like if I knew they're performing poorly or are on a loosing streak.

I like them and but a bet is a bet. If someone told me they want to bet against the team that I like and I knew the team is not doing good I wouldn't take the bet either.

Yes, exactly and I feel the same way because I seriously don't think that being a fan will automatically require us to vote and bet on them even if it is almost clear already that they are not that capable to defeat their opponent in any given situation. Me being as a fan is just a neutral kind of fan, where I don't do that much thinking whether I should weigh some things just because I love the team, and as always, I have my own analysis and because I know them and what they are capable of, I'm pretty sure that I know whether if their chances are good or not.

Are you sure to fight against your own team or just enjoy the match without betting?
Depends on the team to be against.
I often bet on the victory of my own team when they play against other teams.
I can say that I often enjoy the game while betting. There is a pleasure in itself.
Returning to the topic, I will differentiate betting matters by supporting your favorite team.

So you won't always support your favorite team against a stronger team in any way. and this is a matter of betting related to money, of course it will prioritize which team will win absolutely. But if luck is still on the side of a team that we think is weak, it's a miracle that can't be predicted.
The most important thing is to enjoy the game and support your favorite team, win or lose is normal. Make bets wisely and make sure you bet with confidence at the start so you don't regret it.

I just want to ask, are you betting on Manchester City win because they are the favorites in the FA Cup final against Manchester United.
The bet I placed at that time did not lead to the FA Cup final.
I saw a chance for Manchester City to beat Brentford in the last Premier League game before the line-up was confirmed and my analysis is that they will win narrowly even though Pep will play a number of second-tier players.

Are you sure to fight against your own team or just enjoy the match without betting?

I want to ask you about the FA Cup final later. I'm just guessing you're a Manchester City fan. Are you pretty sure Manchester City can beat Manchester United or do you have doubts that Manchester City won't win?

When is comes to gambling I don't see anything wrong in betting against your favorite club, to me is something you'd benefit from and if you look at it this way, the club you support have players who are being paid weekly and imagine you betting against them to get a huge sum of money won't you do it even if it's ones to go against you lovely club, won't you? To me yes is the answer.
Hehe, is funny when I saw my brother and his friend praying for Arsenal to draw, that's the club they support but as we all know, money has a way of changing ones mindset.
So I feel if the money involved is super huge, I see nothing going against your favorite club.
Well, not everyone thinks the same way, some people are too emotionally connected with their favorite teams or players that they won't even hear a bad word about them and will start arguing or even fighting if someone talks against their favorite, and you can easily guess or imagine that such a person will never bet against their favorite team even if they know their team might lose and they will make some money for that.

I personally don't see anything wrong in betting against a team that I actually support but I know that they are underperforming and the opponent is definitely stronger than the site I usually support, I will still cheer for my favorite but I will not mind placing a bet on the opponent if I think logically.

My betting persona and fan persona are two different things. I do not mix them up. When money is involved, I keep my emotions outside and get down to business. I will bet against my club if I know they'd now perform well and when is time to support them against other weaker teams online I will lead the from the from in the banter battle. No hard feeling. They are all forms of entertainment and we do it just for the fun of it. I even remember changing clubs several times when I noticed that despite the team's poor performance in the season, the management of the club seem very indifferent about.

Well, in a case like this, I usually avoid betting on my club, and that’s because in reality I want my club to win even when it's obvious that their opponent is most likely to beat them

If I bet on chelsea to lose, my mind won’t be at rest, and  I’ll feel bad if they eventually lose, just that my bet will enter so the joy isn’t complete

On the other hand, if they surprise me by winning the game, my bet is going to cut and my joy won’t still be complete

So yes, I just ignore chelsea on my bet, so in that case, anything that happens won’t really affect my mood

Any serious minded gamblers should even know that there's nothing to die hard for in gambling or for the team you supported because at the end of the day, you're not being recognized by them and your opinion on their activities is never welcome, counted or recognized, why then should one go extremely being too emotional to that extent for just a supporting team,
You might be a die hard fan of a club, it’s fine everyone is having club that he/she is supporting, but when gambling, you shouldn’t fall in love with any club, make sure you gamble on a neutral ground, even your club shouldn’t be your favorite. Just do your analysis and bet on any club you think will win, if you keep on claiming that you are a die hard fan of a club, you will be the one that will keep on losing if the club loses and the players will get paid even if they lose, so it will only affect you.

Let take a look at Chelsea, if you have been gambling that Chelsea will win every week because you are a die hard fan of Chelsea, am sure the person will only win little amount of money, or let’s assume Manchester City and Chelsea is playing, we all know that Manchester city will win but you went ahead to bet on Chelsea to win, you are the one that will lose and Chelsea players will be paid.

Be practical since this is more important rather than be a loser fan kid.
No problem being a fan but yeah, in these times we all are trying to be practical and with such bets. There's no way a fan will ignore these odds, you'll remain as a fan but let the odds and bookmakers handle the gamble. And you as a bettor, don't let the chance pass because it's your chance to make money. No matter what happens to your club as long as you win your bet, you'll still be happy. But if you don't bet and your club wins, you'll still be happy. And if your bet losses and your club win, you'll be sad.

To much is not good so we should be practical if there's money involve. There's really nothing wrong to bet on opponent side if this is the best thing to do and its just other people think about bad about it since they think you are not loyal to your team. People should know that the support is their but we should bet to the other team if we know that they have advantage at that time since in can increase our. Hance to take home some good cash if we win on our bets.

I am a Liverpool fan and no matter how they perform I am always with my club that's as a fan. When I am gambling then obviously my favourit team always get the benefit of the doubt but when it's obvious that my team is not in good shape and going to lose the match, I don't bet for them. I have gone against Liverpool many times even on the EPL pool.

Bet with your head, not your heart.
It does not always work for me and I tend to lose my bets all the time LOL
I understand where you are from as am also a Manchester united die hard fan, and have been faced many times with a condition where I would have to wait for Manchester united to actually win to decide my bet but I would rather just go a cash out when I know fully well that they can deliver a win in that game.
Like one of the comment in the quotes say.. Bet with your head and not your heart.. Sincerely, I think it's one of the best advice based on what is being discussed here, and like I said in my previous comment, it still does not make any sense to deliberately loose money all in the name of being a die hard fan of a certain club, I think one way to snap out from such deception is to realize that the club you are supporting, the players still get paid whether they loose or win their games, so for me, taking a deliberate loss for a team I am supporting is a no no, it's more of a deception than reality.

Join hands and help me to grow everybody...
I bet based on the odds, not because of my favorite team will play or not. I also not bet every match, only few match which I think worth to bet, if there's no worthy bet, I wouldn't place any bet. But I would choose to watch my favorite team rather than other match I had bet, usually I only watch the replay on the other matches. If someone favorite team is Nottingham Forrest, they already suffer huge loss if he keep bet their favorite team Cheesy
Betting games with odds is one of the things that makes some gamblers to lose their games but some of us will not agree with me, i believe that what we should have done as a gambler is that to calm down and watch some matches and perfect the players and the features of the two clubs playing before we make our predictions, clubs win matches because of the strength of players not by odds

from a certain point of view it is a contradiction.
I'm no longer an avid fan of my favorite team...personally I hate some situation behind "fans/hooligans".
If I had to choose between am economic win or their victory in a match... I really don't see place for negotiation, it's normal that I would choose my economic win!  Grin I also happened to bet against my national team more than once...  Roll Eyes
I quite agree with your take on this. It's not like I'm being paid to support them that I have to stay loyal to them. Being a fan doesn't mean I'd pass up on the opportunity of making money from betting against them! It's a hard no. No hard feelings, it's just business  Grin
So it depends on the perception of each of us. We could just place a bet for our team against another team, but I think it would be a waste of money, especially if we know that the opposing team is stronger than ours. Maybe it's better not to be a fanatic supporter, making us more flexible in choosing a team to bet on. We can also tell our friends that we are not die-hard fans willing to do anything for our team, so they won't make fun of us if we choose not to bet on our team.
Good point though sometimes I still prefer to bet for my supported team, hoping that they will come up and upset their opponents, but it's logical that it's a waste of money if you really know and you fully understand the edge of the opposing team. But again, it will have different opinions and different take in terms of the reason why there are gamblers who are willing to spare some money and take the high-risk bet to support or to show how die-hard they are from the team that they are supporting.
If you are a die hard fan then you would surely be sticking into a certain team which you do really support and if you do look or find that they do have a chance on making some upset then you wouldnt really be having no doubts on betting on them but on the time that you do see that they do have slim chance of winning but still choses up to support and bet on them then thats loyalty and there's nothing wrong with that since its your money then its your full rights on what you should gonna do as long it do makes you happy and contented then its better not to mind on what others would be saying about your bet. Dont bet
according into their preference but rather bet on your own preference and likings so that there would be no some sort of regrets in the end.

Why not? Gambling is not about supporting your favourite sports or football stars, it's about making money, so yes I can bet against my favorite club, when it comes to making money it is far different from supporting what I like and love, two different things entirely.

It's same reason why some football clubs and few other sports make more money when they lose a match, they already took a deal and the deal becomes a success only if they lose a match.

For some people who are fanatical supporters of their idol team, it would be taboo for them to make bets against the team they idolize. however, that doesn't mean we will suddenly bet on our favorite team without looking at the strength of the opposing team. there are various options provided in terms of betting, we can even choose a way that is not against our own favorite team. however, it all depends on the gambler himself.

Maybe for you, it doesn't matter. but for others, they won't and I am no exception. usually, I wouldn't bet on my favorite team if the team they were facing was a stronger team. or maybe, I will choose another option according to what is provided by the bookies. In essence, every gambler has their own style and characteristics, including when betting on their favorite team. for me, there is a lot of fun in sports betting and it's not just a matter of making money. because after all, money can't buy pleasure. however, that doesn't mean we have to blindly bet on our favorite team even though we know the probability that we have is very small. which in essence, it all comes down to options and we can take advantage of them.
