As a gambler and a die-hard fan of a club that has been having a terrible season, would you bet against your club, knowing that their loss would be your financial gain? Or would you stay loyal and not bet against them?

As long as you are comfortable with what you are going to lose, it's ok to bet because you are a die-hard fan but it's better to cheer for them and not bet if you knew all along that your team has no chance of winning.

A die-hard fan will always hope for his team to win whatever the odds, but you can't be losing money when they are losing,  your team will not give your money back if ever you lose.

I seldom against my favorite team it's like hoping that they lose and you do not represent yourself as a die-hard fan if you wish your favorite to lose.

There are other ways or chances to make money from sports betting but not at the expense of your favorite team.

We are fans of different football clubs, and whenever there is football banter, we never fail to take sides with our respective clubs. We stand by them no matter what because that's what being a fan of a football club is all about - unwavering loyalty. However, not all of our favorite clubs perform well. A typical case study is Chelsea, who have had one of their worst performances this season, currently occupying the 11th position. The challenges they have faced this season are unlike any other. Just last night, they were brutally defeated by Manchester United, who showed them no mercy, to the extent that they didn't even celebrate one of their goals.

Gambling is not a part of supporting my favorite team because this is my way to earn money through risk. I will buy fan tokens or watch the game live to show my support for my favorite team not through placing bets on it while I know exactly that they are inferior on the enemy team.

I always use my data analysis on my favorite team to bet in my favour whether it's with them or against them. We can't do anything if our favorite team sucks this season and the only way to enjoy watching their match despite they have a rough season is to bet against them so that you can still be happy no matter what the result is.

The Team Lose = Happy because your bet won
The Team Win = Happy because your team won

As long as the profitable odds there is actually no harm in betting against the club that I favored, but most of the matches that I bet to fight my favorite clubs always lose, for example I am a supporter of Manchester City and they compete at UCL it is quite beneficial to me from the UCL group phase to the final later .

Most of me prefer to bet on my favorite club and only bet occasionally to fight my favorite club usually if there is a match at the end of the season like this where Manchester City has won the league and does not seem to want to win in several matches at the end of the season and odds are quite tempting there is no harm in trying .  Cheesy

Two different versions of FANATICAL and CLUB, these two things are born in the bodies of fans/lovers of sports clubs especially football etc., now we talk about betting against or challenging our own club, there are usually two understandings to my knowledge for such a problem.
1. Gambling Some gamblers don't care and don't stick to the club they love, they see more of a club that has the potential to win, even if the club that is competing is their own favorite club. it's called professional gambling, they understand different problem clubs and gambling.
2. Fanatics, this is worse, most of them when gambling loses or wins, potentially or not, they stick to their stance/support for the club they love. We often see this option, if you lose a bet because your favorite club loses, anarchy and riots ensue.

Conclusion: for me personally, even though there is my favorite club, but for gambling I prefer and consider a club with a chance of winning, I put aside my favorite club, gamble money at stake not fanatics, that's my principle.

from a certain point of view it is a contradiction.
I'm no longer an avid fan of my favorite team...personally I hate some situation behind "fans/hooligans".
If I had to choose between am economic win or their victory in a match... I really don't see place for negotiation, it's normal that I would choose my economic win!  Grin I also happened to bet against my national team more than once...  Roll Eyes

Yeah I think I always put my bet in my favorite team or fighter even though the chance to beat the other team or fighter is low, but it doesn't matter because I will not regret when my favorite team or fighter is lose. Why we need to bet against our favorite team or fighter? I would be very sad and regret in the same time. But if my favorite team or fighter is almost has no chance to beat it's opponent, I would skip it.

My choice of betting is completely upon the favourite team/home country/home city and not on the performance. Recently haven't placed much of bets. In the ongoing season of IPL we had Bitcointalk IPL Prediction Pool & Discussion 2023. It is completely a free entry prediction pool sponsored by Royse77. In the prediction list my favourite was Chennai Super Kings. Now it had reached the finals, from the very first to the qualifier match my selection of team to win was on CSK on its every match.

If it is about betting, what concern me about can or no fan. I can even take a stronger club to win the club that I am a fan of. I am not even of a particular fan in sport, info for strong ones and nothing attached. Example, I supported Arsenal this season, but that does not mean that I will not support another club next season to win EPL. I supported Manchester City last season. When Manchester City and Arsenal was playing their second leg, wouldn't it be stupid if I go for Arsenal? It would be stupidity. There are some seasons that I do not go for any club at all.

It's a good question  Cheesy
My team is Corinthians, and this year is happening exactly what you said about Chelsea, the team is in a bad phase and loses a lot of matches
I haven't bet against my team in any match, but there are matches that I prefer not to bet, because I know that the odds are not good. In other occasions I prefer to bet a symbolic amount, something like 2 to 5 dollars just to bet and have the emotion of watching the game worthing a few bucks

But I don't remember in the recent past having bet against my team (if I had, I would have already won a good amount this year  Tongue)

I bet based on the odds, not because of my favorite team will play or not. I also not bet every match, only few match which I think worth to bet, if there's no worthy bet, I wouldn't place any bet. But I would choose to watch my favorite team rather than other match I had bet, usually I only watch the replay on the other matches. If someone favorite team is Nottingham Forrest, they already suffer huge loss if he keep bet their favorite team Cheesy
