Meditation reduce depression and give one insight to what life is offering him or her. It makes one quit a lot of bad habit which one want to quit.

meditation allows you to step back from problems and calm your mind for at least a few minutes...it's a very good practice when you know how to do it

Meditation is nothing but relaxation. it’s actually about de-concentration. It provides a calm mind, Good concentration, Better clarity, Improved communication, Relaxation and rejuvenation of the mind and body. It provides at least a short-term performance improvement even in novice mediators. In long term mediators, multiple hours spent in meditation are associated with a significant decrease in total sleep time.

Also it produced a greater reduction in pain than even morphine or other pain-relieving drugs. In a nut shell meditation will keep you healthy, help prevent multiple diseases, make you happier, and improve your performance in basically any task, physical or mental.

However, in order to experience most of these benefits you need to practice meditation consistently (daily).

Meditation is more than peace of mind. Although it was the goal of meditation but the side effect to the body is much better. Monks are known for meditation, they can even live without eating for months just through meditation and water. They can also harden their body and even sharp knife can't pierce them. It can also maximized your patience and ability think clearly on panicking situation.

The benefits of meditation are as a way to clear the mind, so that we will find serenity and we will always think positively,
But when meditation is rarely done then we will easily emotional, angry, rancor, etc.,
So meditation is very needed at least once a week.
