Anyone thinks that the current war might affect Bivol's performance? I mean he could be bother by the noise behind this one that his training and his mentality on the fight is not 100% because of the current situation in his country. There could be some friends or family members that is close to Bivol that is directly affected by the war and it might stuck into his mind. What do you guys think? Not making excuses if he lost but we have to look at this angle as well.

Maybe a little bit, I mean everyone would be surely affected knowing that your country where your family is also living is having a war with its neighboring country and then somehow you have a big event that you need to attend. I'm not a 100% sure that he's mentality towards the fight is not affected, you know his family is there trapped and yes directly affected too.

As a normal human being, this kind of thoughts are relevant. Even Bivol can be physically fit to fight Canelo
his mental capabilities are not 100% focus, as I agree with both of you. It's not an excuse, but possible to affect him inside.

Still have to wait if this fight will going to happen due to this ongoing war.

Rumors might interrupt, but since there's no final word, both fighters are preparing and fans, if not all, most of them are
calling for this fight and see Canelo inside the ring again.

We can completely understand Bivol's situation here because he is just a professional boxer with no quarrels on either countries but he is directly affected on the issue because he's Russian and his big fight against Canelo has some issues with the same matter while he is also thinking about his family. We can't possibly say that he's 100% focus.

He should be immune to this kind of noise, maybe it will affect him if Russia is the one being bombarded, but it 's the other way around. So he can continue with his normal training and focus on the fight itself and just have communications with his family. They are not going to be trapped in this war, they could have been in a safe place by now.

I definitely doubt that sponsors will back out, this event is a big one and I don't think they want to lose some good money as for them boxing is still a business.

Actually, it's not that the sponsors or organizers will back out but since there is a lot of pressure put on Russia, that will be one of the reasons why the fight will be delayed. Fortunately, no rumors or any leaks that the fight won't happen, at least for now, so we should just keep positive that it will really push.

And since it's about 2 months before this fight happened, we should also look forward that the situation between Russia and Ukraine will somehow ease within that period.

Moving back to this upcoming Bivol fight, we will probably see the adjustment since he will be facing a much bigger and stronger opponent.

The same goes for Canelo as that was his first fight after stepping up. It's a new challenge for him.

so far, no indication of suspending or postponing the fight. i understand, bivol is russian here, but this is not political arena that we are in. though we can't assure if endorsers and other big sponsors will not pull out at the last minute affecting this match.
will this war situation affect bivol in terms of his mental health or preparation of training, we don't know? we know that canelo is already a big star and can pull off good audience, so boxing fans are excited with this match. just hope that everything will be in place and push thru this event.

About mental health, I don't think it will hit Bivol directly to the point that he will remain unfocused and distracted. Maybe there's a bit of thinking about the situation but he surely knows how to handle it. Lots of things he needs to do as preparation for Canelo. And aside from that, he will be used on it while days, weeks, months are passes by.

It's no secret that he is worried about his friends in Ukraine and hoping for the war to end, Dmitry Bivol Just Wants the War in Ukraine to End, but remaining focus on his upcoming match will always be his priority. Even there's a call that he shouldn't fight as a sign of condemning Russia, it's up to the higher-ups to make the decision. He is really stuck between the lines and should be careful about his future decision.

Right now, I trust his camp that they are doing everything to make Bivol comfortable and be focus for the preparation on their next challenge.

Yeah, if could have a direct or indirect effect on him, even if his family is far from the war and safe, you can still think that your country is in war with your fellow Russians and there have been bloodshed of innocent people. And for sure the media will go after this premise if they have the time to interview Bivol in the promotion of this fight.

His family lives in Russia, out of the sounds of the war as they are safe there compare to Ukraine that already been under attack. Russia also seems fine even they have lots of economic sanctions. I don't see he will be distracted by his family but by what his country is doing. But since there will be a task to do, I'm sure he is focusing on his training as that's necessary.

Canelo Alvarez is a tough man to beat and Bivol should always be on his relaxed mindset condition to be able to train hard and wise.

There are stakes at risk on this match and both parties understand that losing is not an option.

I think this fight is quite unfair, isn't it? Canelo is busy preparing for this fight with no distractions while Bivol on the other side is also preparing but his mind is thinking on his homeland where his family is living. I for one believes that Canelo will win this fight but I just also want that Bivol can have some concentration in training without some distraction.

You have a point but they are a professional boxer and they also have signed a deal that the provided match schedule will be observed on time, so Bivol here don't have a choice but to fight Canelo even if he is mentally distracted about his family who is in the middle of chaos right now because if he won't follow the deal then I'm afraid that his career will be at stake and might be over.
Fair or not, this has been agreed and like it or not, this must be done in order to maintain professionalism, for sure Bivol cannot be absent again with a predetermined schedule.
It's quite difficult to do but on the other hand he must also know there will be consequences if he doesn't play this fight because this will definitely have consequences.
He wont be have any choice but to proceed and fight Canelo despite of the current condition of his country or on his family on which it could really affect him mentally but
he needs to be at least focused and concentrated for this upcoming fight even though its hard to ignore but he should do his best.I dont see for this fight to be unfair.
There are really just things in life which do comes unexpectedly but doesnt mean that you couldnt make out any adjustments.

Who would think of ENTERTAINMENT in the time of War. When people are running for the sake of their lives, people like us  still care from entertainment? I wish we must support humanity during this time of War. YEsterday it was Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Serya Today its Ukraine tomorrow it will be another country. I am very sure this match will not happen and there is a planned drama going on behind. But let's see how this roll. May the best decision are made.

Youre right. There is a chance of it not going to happen because Bivol is a Russian and most probably sponsors of the event or probably DAZN are also boycotting Russians. We see many sports events already are canceling Russian teams so this one might also be postponed indefinitely. The athletes have nothing to do with the war but yes they are among that is sanctioned here. We use to hate Racism but seem we like doing it as well.

While this could really be a good fight to watch, it also shows the other side of how worse humanity is.
It is going to be interesting what happens with this fight, because if the fight gets canceled then this is going to be the second fight in a row for Canelo in which this happens and he is going to need to find yet another opponent to face, something which can be quite difficult because not many people are going to want to fight Canelo without preparing themselves fully for the fight against him, the money is going to be tempting but I do not think we are going to get the best fight possible for him under those circumstances.

Canelo alvarez must take this fight as one of his big fight cause his opponent is more just easy to handle and we all know that Dmitry Bivol is a champion and a good fighter so without a doubt he is still have a chance to win against canelo.
And if. Canelo wants to fight GGG in the next fight after this is he must win these fight first.

Bivol is good until he fought Canelo, Canelo will always fight like Canelo, calculated, very relaxed, good at cutting the distance, and frustrate his opponent he will accumulate big punches to his opponent's body then the head, the biggest question is Bivol ready if Bivol will be Bivol and Canelo will fight like Canelo, then Canelo will knock him out in the later rounds, the pressure is not on Canelo but on Bivol because he still doesn't have the skill level of fighters Canelo fought.

Obviously, the better fighter here is Canelo because he is the favorite to win. Fans already anticipated that Canelo will win but let's see if we will see some big surprise, who knows, Bivol might be able to give Canelo a problem and that would make the fight more interesting. I know that everyone is betting on Canelo but we should not underestimate Bivol because he also has the power and the current champion. 19 wins and 11 is by KO, undefeated as well, this guy is a real tough challenge for Canelo.

On this forum and other media people and boxing, aficionados want to see a big surprise, we love to see upsets in fact it's more exciting to see upsets than what we've expected to see, people although expect Canelo to win they are playing upsets in the back of their mind, this could happen one if the favorites is injured in the middle of the fight, second, the favorite is having a hard time with the weight and encountering problem psychology, something that never happens to Canelo after his loss with Maywearther.

Canelo gets better after his loss to Mayweather, he learns his lesson and he trained harder. In fact, if Canelo and Mayweather will fight now, I believe that we will see the opposite of that fight, and though Mayweather is very slick, I'm pretty sure Canelo would hit him and would probably knock him out.

Indeed, Canelo has learned a lot of lesson when he faced Mayweather several years ago, he literally took it personally after his first loss and train harder to be more stronger and smarter in the ring. Canelo even copy some moves of Mayweather like the "shoulder roll" and also learn how to counter it if ever he face an opponent who uses the same stance.

Of course, he will took it personally since it was his first defeat and since then he's been smarter than ever. That defeat surely helped him to get tougher and stronger that's why he became the undisputed boxer. I also watched a video about that, indeed he invented a way how to encounter that shoulder roll.

Any good update about this fight? Seems this fight will still continue on exact date, but I read an article that they will move the venue to another location where the issue is a bit neutral on Russian boxer.

It was initially thought that the world title contest will happen in the United States, but reports emerged that suggested that is now not the case.

According to the respected boxing journalist Michael Benson, it is now believed that both Canelo and Bivol will travel to Dubai, UAE, to face off against each other.

That is what makes Canelo Alvarez a unique fighter and like I said, he's so unique that he became an undisputed champion in four different divisions and sources said that only few have been in that position, Canelo is the 6th in the whole boxing industry.

Oh, is that right? That's good! Las Vegas or anywhere inside US is a good location but in these times that there's a conflict, I don't think that the crowd is friendly to Bivol.

Sure he is! Canelo is without a doubt a man of discipline that's why he achieved those feats that not everyone could achieve. Canelo is very different in every fight because he's trying to catch and observe his opponent first and afterwards he will make some move and try to connect more.

I think this fight is quite unfair, isn't it? I couldn't agree more. Canelo's discipline is really good and we can really see it every time he steps in the ring. He is also very patient especially in the first couple of rounds, it is like he is still learning up until now even in the middle of the fight until he can analyze his opponent and starts to throw some huge blows that his opponent can't guard and yes until it run out of gas.

For me, that's his advantage against any fighter that he fight. He keeps moving and learning how to bring down his opponent; he is not just taking punches, but he is also analysing if what kind of strategy he needs to corner his opponent and knock him down if possible. We will see another kind of strategy once this fight happens.

Bivol might have different strategy compared to those Canelo already fought and since Bivol is also big and strong that might
take some time for Canelo to figure out if what fighting style he needs to use.

In fact, if Canelo and Mayweather will fight now, I believe that we will see the opposite of that fight, and though Mayweather is very slick, I'm pretty sure Canelo would hit him and would probably knock him out.

I also believe that. Canelo already matured after that loss from Mayweather and the same perceptions if they will fight again I'm pretty sure that the outcome is different, Mayweather is good but seeing how Alvarez adjust and keep winning his fights that would be a big difference if chance gives them that rematch.

Moving back to this upcoming Bivol fight, we will probably see the adjustment since he will be facing a much bigger and stronger opponent.

Yes, we can expect an adjustment from him, however, Canelo is not afraid of fighting a taller and bigger fighter as he already beat a lot of fighters like that in the past. He might not able to beat them in the early rounds but with his maturity and ring IQ, his strategy is slowly but surely so in the end, his opponent will be gas out because of the consistent power punches they will receive.

Canelo's advantage against taller and bigger opponent is his speed, so he still have an edge.

That's the reason why I like canelo alvarez cause as we can see in his previous fight or let say old fights he is good in terms of landing a punch and he is also a defensive man. If he feel that his opponents is weaker than him then he played an aggressive fight and without a doubt he can win.
And if he feel that his opponent is bigger and stronger than him we played a sure play and adjust and make a plan to defeat the opponent.
Canelo is a good and clean fighter.
