Of course, I expected more from GGG in this fight in the hope of continuing the intrigue, but Golovkin, it seems to me, is already internally ready to leave and even though he lost these three fights to Canelo, he did not look like a whipping boy and it seems to me now is the best time for him to finish his career.
I've not been that time one day to watch this fight or something and the I don't know how some people predict it is it any competitions or any particular money they put in the name of the thing for this kind of fight cuz I do see many people discussing about this so I want to know if there is fund that is involved into this particular fight

This is the final result of the poll

Who do you think will prevail in this fight?
Canelo Alvarez   - 14 (31.1%)
GGG   - 30 (66.7%)
Draw   - 1 (2.2%)
Total Voters: 45

66.7% of us did not believe that Canelo can beat GGG this is one of the times that the majority of members of the community failed to accurately predict the winner, and I'm one of those members Cheesy I overlooked the determination of Canelo I rely on their recent performance in which Canelo lose by unanimous decision and GGG won by a knockout.

Actually, it's not that the community here doesn't believed in Canelo. It's just that even though Canelo clearly has all the advantages here, it's a personal preference why they choose GGG regardless of how strong Canelo is.

Saying it was a failed prediction of the community seems not the right term here. Like me, prior to the fight, I'm giving Canelo an 80% chance to win but I like GGG to win instead because I want him to finally win over Canelo. I also feel that he is supposed to be the winner before.

Perhaps the majority voted for GGG to win because,

1. We think that he was robbed in the first fight, and so we wanted him to win. So our votes might be based on our emotions
2. Canelo lost to Bivol
3. GGG won against a tough fighter in Murata

But in the end, Canelo beat GGG in the score card and there was no knock out/down. And both acknowledge each other greatness after the fight, and there are respect. And again, GGG says that he will continue to fight and he will be mandated by the WBA to fight Lara at 160 for the belt. And Canelo going to the person who gave him his second pro lost.

The result was unexpected for many of us because we have all seen that GGG was too determined to win this fight and he has an edge over Canelo especially when it comes to experience and we weren't able to notice that Canelo is more determined to beat GGG. Sometimes, the underdog has a higher motivation and determination to win.
Well, that sports and everything could happen and predictions might turn out to be wrong. My prediction and put up some bets on GGG but ended up on a loss. The community whom really do believe
that GGG would get and retire on a nice win but it ended up on a loss but still there are lots who had respected out on the way he box despite on being that age 40.Age did really take a huge toll
if we do look in overall performance from power, speed and agility which we could really tell that age could change up those aspects mainly. For those who had bet on Canelo
then it was really still a nice call but the odds arent really that something to brag on. Cheesy

If we based our speculations on their last performances then I would say that Canelo has the edge. Though he lost to Bivol that was expected because the latter is bigger and faster while Canelo was swimming in unchartered water at that time.

If we review the fight of GGG against Murata, the former struggled in the first half of the fight until he landed those bombs that sent Murata to the ground but I would say that the overall performance of GGG was not impressive at all plus the fact that he is 40 years old, bettors should consider a Canelo win.

Lacking this thread in a few hours and as usual, thank you for your comments on this thread as this gives some ideas to users here who are not so familiar with this sport.

Expect Canelo to fight again in May against Bivol if he wins against Zurdo.

With this bet Casinos could've made big money, because majority went with Golovkin and the end of the fight served as a win for Alvarez. One of the person who have placed a bet over Alvarez have won and out of excitement the person have started a thread stating he have beaten Duelbits. At times underdog wins and this is one such example.

it took 12 rounds and a decision to defeat GGG. seem not a real fight to me actually. canelo seem very careful in getting too close to fight toe to toe. no highlight that really inflicts damage. its either that or he makes sure the crowd will enjoy a 12 round fight for the independence day celebration. anyone see it like this is an exhibition fight?

GGG is also too cautious making him lose rounds.  There are opportunities where GGG can land solid punches but being too cautious making him miss those opportunities.   The fight is like wait and counter making jobs a more effective way to score.  GGG throws jobs but most of them got deflected or blocked by Canelo's defense, while Canelos land more punches by sneaking body shot, hooks and uppercut.  Canelo somehow stole rounds by landing combinations impressing the judges.

It is indeed a close fight but the result says it.  Canelo wins the fight but it was too close, IMO.

^ Due to Golovin prolonging the fight and failing to knock him out, the fight was expected to go Canelo's way; therefore, the decision would go against GGG.

I had expected GGG to come out a little more aggressively since I believe he was also aware that if it was a decision, he wasn't going to win. However, it is likely that he wanted to fight the way he does best. I believe that he is still capable of fighting and I think that he can continue to do so. It should not be viewed as a career-ending decision for him since he is already on track to become a legend. It is my belief that he will still be able to continue fighting for at least two more years, if not more.

well, we did see the GGG has still the stamina to last 12 rounds despite of his age. so yeah, maybe he won't retire yet. but if he doesn't want to prove anything anymore, he can always retire and call it a day. enjoy the remaining years of his life without any bad injury from boxing. and for canelo, at least he got his winnings to get going with his career. because if he lost this fight, his bankability will go down because of the consecutive losses.

Yes, we saw that GGG can still keep up with one of the best boxer in the industry and at the age of 40 years old, he can still give struggles to the current undisputed champion and pound for pound king, Canelo Alvarez. That reasons alone proved that GGG is really one of a kind boxer and deserves credits for all he attained in this sports. He can still do some few fights if he would like to before he decides to hang up his gloves.

Way to go Bitcointalk users. Many of you lost bets from this fight. Let us proceed to the next world title fights and make better analysis so that we can win our bets.

Most of us here love underdogs and with GGG as a very live underdog, it is understandable that many have backed the latter. If only this trilogy was held 6 months after the second fight, GGG might have won and Canelo knows that, that may be the reason why they delayed the trilogy. Though I bet for Canelo, I'm not very impressed with his performance but practically I have to put money on him because Father Time is catching up on him and I always emphasized in my previous post that this sweet science is a young men's sport.

Congrats, sweet odds mate. It was an easy win by Canelo, he controlled the fight in most of the rounds and it was very obvious that GGG has gassed out in the later rounds, he became slower and that gave Canelo a big advantage to score while he played safe.

That's what the poll says. But we did not know if these people really placed a bet for GGG. Most of us here wanted to see GGG come out victorious in this trilogy. However, one thing that's holding on to some people including me to place a bet for GGG as he's now at his 40, while Canelo is still fighting at his prime. Though we knew GGG is a tough fighter, but father time is catching up and that concludes the trilogy right there.

I myself also wanted GGG to win. At least he would feel that he finally got what he was robbed of many years ago. I voted for GGG in the poll even though I know he's got a very slim chance this time around to win against a much younger Canelo. I also didn't bet for GGG even if I cheered for him. I was even afraid that GGG might get knocked out. Fortunately, that didn't come but it seemed like he really didn't get a convincing round for himself.

Glory To Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!
The fight has finished and I can say that it was still exciting to watch it. I have expected that the fight would go full distance, as it is impossible to get a KO when opponent are so professional. I have expected that it will be a UD for Canelo. I havent seen anything new from Canelo and GGG. Time has passed and they both are still cool. I am happy how GGG performed. Against such an opponent, that everyone counted as best of the best in the world, GGG has boxed for 12 rounds and lost only with a decision, means a lot. To those, who think that Canelo is the greatest and the best - I suggest to wait until Canelo turns 40, and goes against a younger and more hungry opponent. And see the outcome. For me, now it is 1-1-1 in Canelo vs GGG trilogy. One draw and everyone has 1 victory and 1 lose.

This can be said about all the fighters, if you wait until they are 40 years old, maybe he will have retired by this time. ) The fight was good, Canelo dominated, but Golovkin also gave very good moments, so yes, the fighters are worthy. The fight, as expected, lasted 12 rounds, in such fights, when two equal fighters meet, this is predictable. But Canelo really was the better this evening.

The question: Who do you think will prevail in this fight? Canelo or GGG or Draw?

The answers from 68.2% of Bitcointalk users was GGG and they were all wrong. I chose Alvarez to win because I factored Golovkin's old age. His spirit was willing but his body cannot do it anymore.

You can't blame the old guy here, he is fighting against prime Canelo who is the undisputed champion in that division.
And we have been discussing GGG's age and it seems everyone hunch is right, it has an effect of him. He is slower and maybe it's because of the extra weight.

But it was amazing to see that he still had the stamina to make it through the whole 12 rounds. I think he really should retire because I don't think he has anything to prove to anyone. So, the most sensible decision is going to be taking one or two very easy fights and retiring after that with some money in my opinion.

I believe Golovkin had a chance to win if he was aggressive in the early rounds. Obviously, this is not a terrible fight. This is actually a worthwhile fight in my opinion. And even though a loss is a loss I don't think this is going to be that problematic for his career at this point. Because he is likely to retire after 1 or 2 fights anyway, so I think it's alright.

GGG is trying his best to win at every round but it's not a simple task to do. Canelo won't surely allow that to happen. Still, we saw GGG lasted for a 12-round even way past his prime. Canelo is also exhausted and that means he also has difficulty destroying GGG.

Yes, he tried his best, but Canelo has every answer, and base on the punch stat, Canelo did outland him in the power punching. So the scores of the judges and the numbers are all correct this time, no controversies.

What a Great match! We are lucky to witness this match that will be cemented in boxing history from now on.

Every generation has it's own great boxer, 10 years ago, it was Pacman vs those Mexicans boxers who are all great and HOF. now it's Canelo's time to be this era's greatest.

GGG is being cautious because he is making sure to get more points in each round. He knows that Canelo is tough to beat if the fight ends up in a decision. Still, he doesn't being knock out by the strongest boxer in the Supper Middleweight.

Canelo clearly wins the match. No more issues, no more criticism. Their chapter is now close.

True, even Canelo win in this fight he didnt manage to win via knock out. Though he improves a lot, it might because of what he learned from his loss before this fight. Anyway we know GGG tried his best and the results are also close, it's not easy for him to fight a boxer who currently on his prime. They're both great, respect to these boxers for giving us an awesome fight and yes this chapter is now close.
Canelo is hungry for revenge after got defeated by Bivol in his last fight.
A Canelo Alvarez which is in his prime years against a Triple G which is on his post-prime years already. I mean just by looking at their ages, you will have a clear choice on who will win.

Triple G tried it, but I just watched the highlights of the fight, and you can see that he is tired already and his punches doesn't have any power anymore and he is only punching for points. That'll not work against Canelo. Well, the trilogy is now over and it's obvious that Canelo won. The question is what will be the next for these 2 fighters. Will Canelo try again to go on a higher weight class or will just stay in Super Middleweight? Triple G has the option to retire already because he is 40 years old, but I think he can still fight 2-3 times before hanging his gloves. Pacquiao already did fight after reaching 40 years old so I guess he can as well.
