Anyone thinks that Canelo weight swing from 168 to 175 to 168 lbs might affect his performance? There are fighters who jumps from one weight to another have been affected negatively.

So what about Canelo here? will he still be the same and dominant at super middleweight because this is his favorite and perfect weight class for him. No?

But it's not a massive jump in weight and he has a lot of days to go back naturally to SMW division. It's not like the case of Roy Jones who went as high as Heavyweight and then his weight swinging around 168-175 lbs. And that was the beginning of the downfall of Roy Jones. For Canelo, it's negligible, he is still in his prime and could be walking around that weight without draining himself or changing his diet.

Ok, it's just one factor that play in my head when I read that somewhere that a boxer performance could be affected when he jump in weight like Canelo did when he fought Bivol and then go down to 168 lbs.

Nevertheless, it's just a couple of pounds and nothing  to shabby with it. Maybe if he jumps as high as what him and his team are thinking with the Cruiserweight, then just maybe it might have a drastic effect on his health. And one thing that will go with him is the advancement of sports medicine and for sure he had someone in his team watching his weight.

Gamblers are considering the fact that GGG is no longer in his prime.

Though his fighting chance is still there, from what I've seen in his last fight against Murata, he still has that power
punches that if ever he got that good opening from Canelo, he can still put him down.

We just need to wait and we will see how they will perform and who will be the winner. Bookies favorite in favor
of Canelo as always.

Because this is the truth  Smiley.

If we based our speculations on GGG's last fight then I could say that he is past his prime because he was having troubles in the early rounds in dealing with the body shots of Murata who I could say is way below Canelo's boxing skills and even if GGG has the opening I doubt that he could knockout Canelo as the latter has a granite chin so no wonder most of the gamblers outside this forum are favoring Canelo to win.

We are going to find out, don't miss the fight this coming September 17.

Maybe my guess would be 10% he could take down Canelo, it's very tough considering his age, but there's still a slim chance.

10% would be too small.

His odds stand at 4.90 now. That means that the sportsbooks estimate his chances at around 20%. Now we need to remember that the odds are getting skewed, because a lot of Hispanic fans within the United States are placing bets on Canelo. I would estimate his chances slightly higher, at around 25% to 30%. But need to admit that Canelo is the overwhelming favorite in this fight. Just two days remain.. and it is difficult to realize that the long wait is finally over. Have been waiting for this since 2018 September.

The betting odds headed to where I expected when this fight was announced. I mean, how can GGG be only 3x something when Donaire was 4x against Inoue? Both GGG and Donaire are old and their chances are knockouts or at least hurting their younger opponents to change the pace of their fights. Donaire was proven to be capable of hurting Inoue but GGG wasn't able to deal serious damage to Canelo for 24 rounds. So yes I am expecting GGG's odds to move to 4x more than Donaire's odds against Inoue.

But as a GGG fan, I am hoping for an upset. I want a miracle. Cheesy

Barring asides those odds, maybe there are fans that are throwing enough money on him, but it was offset because of the huge money that is flowing on Canelo. Maybe whales are betting ML on Canelo with big amounts of money and then GGG fans, just good amount of bets.

And if we look at some of the predictions, they are leaning towards Canelo winning this fight so the odds won't change a bit as we gets closer to the fight night.

Depends on how the pressure from the bettors. As of this moment I see your point there's a huge amount of money who trusted Canelo.

Balance or maybe bookies seen that GGG's bettors are still with same weight of bets, we never know if on the day of the fight if there's big

bets for GGG that may affects the odd and maybe changes will take place, or if you can wait additional betting odds might be presented from

different gambling sites.

I will put my bet on GGG, I will not feel the pressure because the betting odds are good and I don't lose much in case GGG will lose. All I believe is that if GGG will lose, I'm sure I will still be entertain because GGG will never back down, and what if he got lucky here, upset is possible my friend.
seems like the votes are also favoring to the obvious result and that is GGG will take over against  Canelo in this fight , will also putting my Bet for GGG because I have been watching and following his career for several years now and I know His capacity and also about how Canelo fight in hsi career that is not enough to take down GGG .

Not enough taking down GGG? yes, maybe... however, if this fight will go to the scorecards, I think Canelo will again have the edge just like their previous fight. GGG is probably aiming for a KO here, the only question is, at his age, can he take down Canelo?

No matter how I would want to make it look like a fair fight, the judges will most likely be on Canelo's side again.

I'm pretty sure GGG knows that, therefore, I believe that he will try his best to win by KO/TKO, that way judges' decision is not necessary anymore. It's gonna be a war, GGG trying to win this trilogy while Canelo will try to have an impressive win so people will forget about how he lost to Bivol.

Yes, this could really be a war, both camps are saying that they don't want to have the judges influence the outcome of the fight. And then we are hearing predictions that either of this two wanted to score a KO/TKO to end their trilogy fight.
GGG expressed that he is thinking of retiring, so this might be one of his biggest fight wherein he wanted to end his career at least beating Canelo. On the other hand, Canelo looks very confident also, his fans cheering his name he wants to erase his lost to Bivol.

Great, that would result in an entertaining fight because both are willing to give everything they have in this fight. GGG will surely give everything, it could be his last fight, and if he wins, that's another big success in his career in boxing. I think GGG or Canelo by KO win has an attractive odds.

Intense face off between the two, and it seems that both of them are ready for a war. It's going to be a great weekend match for everyone and for sure everyone's bet is already in. Noticed though that GGG seems to be not as weight drain, I mean yes he fought at 160 lbs most of his career and then he jumps to 168 lbs here, but you can see his face and his jaw is like round and full unlike those previous fights of his, just saying. So better invite your friends this weekend and watch the fight in PPV.
Thanks for the link.

As expected that there would be some slight physique change and i had noticed it too but its not that surprising considering that there's a slight bump on weight
but lets see if this one wont really be resulting into some sort of slow down.
Im already readying up for this upcoming weekend which would really be a good fight to look upon.Hope it wont disappoint.

GGG sounds not very confident or he wasn't asked the right question to say what has been needed to say but for the love of sport and Canelo wants to bring a good show for the people this Sept 16 which is the independence day of Mecico. Amazing how embarrassing could this be if Canelo loses the fight but Judges may really be on his side.

It's because the interviewer didn't asked the right answer or he just put GGG on the spot. So I don't think that he is not that confident is this fight, he is smiling and acknowledging the crowd but it was obvious a pro-Canelo. And that needed 8 lbs could bring something good in GGG, I think if he decided years ago to move to this division, he can do that. But obviously, he chooses a weight that he dominated for years and that is a good strategy for his career.

Yes, it could be he is put on the spot and the language barrier probably all he could say is "Come on guys".
But Do you think he is also worrying that this is all for the show for Mexican independence and this fight has to be won by their hero?

No matter how I would want to make it look like a fair fight, the judges will most likely be on Canelo's side again.

Golovkin is the guy who won on previous occasions (at least as per most of the neutral observers), and I don't think that he is suffering from any confidence issues. And I don't think that Golovkin is under any sort of pressure. There is not much expectation from him, given his age and the uneven betting odds. On the other hand, Canelo will be under a lot of pressure, with betting odds for him in the range of 1.15 to 1.20. And a defeat would do great harm to his career, given the accusation of jury bias in previous matches.

Well.. it looks as if the odds worsened further for Golovkin. A month or so ago, he was at 4.10. And that was when I placed a bet. It looks as if the sportsbooks are further adjusting the odds in face of increased bets from Canelo supporters. Else, I don't think that anything on ground has changed during the last 4 weeks. These odds doesn't make any sense. Let's remember that Golovkin win the first fight between the two (according to most neutral scorers), and the second one was too close to call. Given this, I don't think that Golovkin deserves odds of 4.90.

The odds for the trilogy match between Canelo and Golovkin are almost identical now to Canelo vs Bivol fight.

Canelo was a +550 favorite to win against Bivol. Here in the trilogy against GGG, he is a +600 favorite to win.
Bivol is a +400 underdog against Canelo. GGG is also +400 here.

Just a comparison and not saying GGG will have the same result lol.

It's the 3rd fight, so if there's another fight, it will be the 4th. If that will happen, then it's okay because these two are great fighters and they can give real entertainment unlike other chances who are boring to watch as they just want to score and run, this one they do a toe to toe fight, that's why the fans are asking for this fight.

If Golovkin wins this fight, then he may decide to retire. Even if he decides otherwise, I don't think that he will agree to another fight with Canelo. He has repeatedly claimed that he was robbed of wins not once, but twice. So why should he give an opportunity to Canelo, to get even? But then, there will be a lot of ifs and buts. Given the asymmetrical betting odds, no one in their right mind would think that Golovkin is a favorite to win this match. As I mentioned earlier, I have placed a small bet in favor of GGG. But even then, I am not being much optimistic.

That's another option, but if you will ask me, why would he retire if he can still make more money fighting Canelo again?

Here's what I'm thinking that could happen, If GGG cares more about his legacy, then retirement is the best option, but if he cares more about making more money before retirement, then he will continue to fight, whether it's Canelo or another fighter.

I guess we can already answer that question, GGG cares more about his legacy than the money he could make in the future if in case he upsets Canelo. GGG already said that he won't retire but that might change if in case he gets victorious here, that would be the best revenge he could give to Canelo after all the years he was rejected for a trilogy. 2 days more!

GGG ok it's going to be hard to predict how he's going to fight at 40. On the other side is a Canelo who came from defeat. I think GGG will be in the ring fit and in good condition. Will they go to desicion or in the match here or will either of them break one of them. I think Canelo can do it, Tko. But I don't think the match will end with TKO. I think there are a lot of parameters that will be a good trilogy, I think both of them will not play risky, they will play each other equally to the points. Good fight night GG.
Most of the experts predicted that this fight will go to the judges' scorecards, or if there's a KO, it should be Canelo winning the fight. Yes, GGG is already 40 years old, but is it right to call him old? I don't think so, he won his previous fight and I'm sure he still has a lot to offer and he can entertain us in this fight.

This could be his retirement fight if he losses, so hopefully he will not.

Canelo Alvarez vs Gennadiy Golovkin 3 odds

https://www.covers.com/boxing/canelo-alvarez-vs-gennady-golovkin-3-odds

Canelo is heavily favored based on the betting odds.

Well, Golovkin is not that agile anymore compared to his prime years but the thing about him is that he can still win fights because of the IQ he acquired throughout those years he's been fighting and Golovkin haven't tasted another defeat after Canelo. Also, those said experts are not that real expert in boxing nor can predict the outcome, those people are just self-proclaimed experts.

Still, I believe that Golovkin can still make Canelo struggle and can beat him, and based on that odds, betting on Golovkin quite tasty.

They are just proclaiming themselves as experts thinking that they can correctly predict the outcome base from their own analysis, there's no accurate results as the outcome always happens at the end of the fight, early predictions are just self owning, no offense to those who support those types of analysis but experienced, wise, upset always happens to this sport and we really don't know if how both fighters prepared from this upcoming trilogy.

A winner takes all here, I mean if ever Canelo will win he can end this rivalry while if GGG wins he will add more value to his career.

He can either retire or he can ask for better TF and shares if Canelo's camp will ask for another rematch.
