Dave Moretti has favoring to GGG on the first match, but he's favoring to Canelo on the second match, I think he judgement is fair enough since I consider GGG performance on the first match was better than the second.

Steve Weisfeld only become judges on the second match and he's favoring to Canelo too, while David Sutherland is new name on Canelo vs GGG fight. Looking how he gave a score [1] it seems that he's kind of judge who favor to favorited boxer.

I have a lot of respect for Dave Moretti, but unfortunately I don't agree with his scoring for both the matches. In the first match, he had Golovkin winning by 115-113, when it was 116-112 or 117-111 in reality. And in the second match also he was wrong. He had Canelo winning by 115-113, and I don't think that this score is a good representation of what happened in the ring. Same goes with Steve Weisfeld. I haven't heard about David Sutherland much and he seems to be someone who stays clear of controversies.

Is the judges name have been announce already?
The reason why I'm asking is that we need to get the names of them and see if they have previously been involved in some unfair scoring or maybe they are on the Canelo's bandwagon?
Yep it has been announced who's the judges in this fight

The judges appointed for the fight are Dave Moretti, Steve Weisfeld and David Sutherland.

These are veteran judges they know the weight of judging this fight fairly, but judges are human too, all the big fights that ended in a decision have some controversy in them, for GGG to win by decision it should be a performance like what Bivol did to Canelo when they meet, so he can win by unanimous decision for Canelo to win by decision it should be a performance like he did to Caleb Plant, the first three rounds are very important, we'll see if its the continuation of the first two fights, I hope to see something different on both fighters.

I'm also looking forward to see if how both will showcase their new and enhance fighting strategy.

It's been a long waited rematch and for sure both fighters will love to entertain the fans and bring more satisfying
toe-to-toe exchanges of punches.

I like your observation about how both fighters should win if the decision takes place, if they don't want another controversial
they needed to win it wide edge scoring advantages.

Intense face off between the two, and it seems that both of them are ready for a war. It's going to be a great weekend match for everyone and for sure everyone's bet is already in. Noticed though that GGG seems to be not as weight drain, I mean yes he fought at 160 lbs most of his career and then he jumps to 168 lbs here, but you can see his face and his jaw is like round and full unlike those previous fights of his, just saying. So better invite your friends this weekend and watch the fight in PPV.
Thanks for the link.

As expected that there would be some slight physique change and i had noticed it too but its not that surprising considering that there's a slight bump on weight
but lets see if this one wont really be resulting into some sort of slow down.
Im already readying up for this upcoming weekend which would really be a good fight to look upon.Hope it wont disappoint.

GGG sounds not very confident or he wasn't asked the right question to say what has been needed to say but for the love of sport and Canelo wants to bring a good show for the people this Sept 16 which is the independence day of Mecico. Amazing how embarrassing could this be if Canelo loses the fight but Judges may really be on his side.

Nah man! GGG is showing the opposite thing, look at him smiling widely and entertaining the public which exactly shows how confident and happy he is that after a long time, he is now fighting Canelo for the 3rd time in same place. This is his first fight with Canelo in 168 pounds but he said that he is not that worried of the extra weight, tacos will suffice.

Yes, Mexico is celebrating their Independence Day this coming weekend and surely there will be a lot more Mexicans who will cheer and watch Canelo. I don't know how would he feel if he will be defeated in this precious weekend, I'm excited to find out.

Whaat? The voting is opposite to the actual betting market. Are you people sure that Golovkin will win? Did you cast your bets on Golovkin already?

I would like to see GGG do well and make it an entertaining fight. I have to agree with the consensus that Canelo is a heavy favorite. It is not just about age. The size difference might also be a factor. Canelo has been fighting super middleweights and light heavyweights in recent years while Golovkin has remained at middleweight. Maybe if Canelo has stamina problems, GGG might find a way to win rounds but the most likely outcome in my opinion is Canelo by wide decision or perhaps even late stoppage.
The stamina problem of Canelo might be when he move up to LHW, as we can see it's either Bivol punches that have slow him down or that Canelo is really getting tired because of this new added weight on this body at 175. For Golovkin it's a relief that he will be fighting at 168 lbs, so there's no need for him to drain his body and maybe it will benefit him to be more stronger than ever. And notice how big Golovkin head is, I even heard from other comments (not in this community), that it is Kazakhs, juice, lol.

I agree with @FinneysTrueVision's analysis. This match will end with Canelo winning by a wide decision or a late stoppage. If Canelo had stamina problem due to the excess weight at 175 it might also happen to Golovkin. Golovkin is not big and he is used to fighting as a middleweight for the most part of his career. Additional weight on Golovkin might affect his stamina. And given his old age, the excess weight might also make him slower which will be dangerous to Canelo's powerful attacks.

If Canelo will allow GGG to see some good openings, I'm pretty sure that he will not waste his time trying to throw solid combinations in bringing Canelo down. Knowing the type of fighter GGG was, he will never take anything for granted if chances give him the opportunity to box and corner his opponents.

But it is also the same with Canelo. If GGG will give Canelo that chance it can turn against him, I remember GGG's fight against Murata, where he gave
the Jap fighter that chance to throw and convert solid combos, if that will be given to Canelo, we might conclude the outcome in an instance.

I'm not degrading Murata but Canelo's type of punching power, mostly will KO, his opponent.

Golovkin says in a pre-match interview that he has a lot of plans besides this fight with Canelo, so it looks like he's not going to leave anyway. When asked about a possible fourth fight with Canelo, GGG stated that he also does not rule out a similar outcome from this trilogy. And by the way, an interesting fact is that in his entire boxing career, including amateur boxing, Golovkin has never even been in knockdown.

No matter how I would want to make it look like a fair fight, the judges will most likely be on Canelo's side again.

I'm pretty sure GGG knows that, therefore, I believe that he will try his best to win by KO/TKO, that way judges' decision is not necessary anymore. It's gonna be a war, GGG trying to win this trilogy while Canelo will try to have an impressive win so people will forget about how he lost to Bivol.

Aside from GGG, the whole public and the boxing industry knows about that too that's why I'm thinking that the judges this time might refrain from their habits of helping Canelo in terms of scores if ever the fight will get to the judge's hand once again. However, GGG shouldn't rely from that alone and should do his job as well in finishing the fight as early as he could so that the fight won't reach into the judge's hands.

Is the judges name have been announce already?

I think that will be the aim for both of them, then will want to finished the fight as early and not let it go to the judges hands because there could be another controversy and the boxing community will surely be in an uproar if the judges didn't get it right again.

Yes, Canelo will be hailed as the true winner if he will win in this trilogy but I don't think it will add some value to his career because GGG is not that kind of a trophy anymore in their case.
But if GGG will win then his value will indeed increase while Canelo will be devalued for getting defeated by a man who is already at the retirement stage and of course for being defeated twice in a row, all that happened in one year alone.

Canelo has nothing to gain and GGG has nothing to lose. That summarizes the situation from the current fight. If Canelo had accepted the challenge in 2019 and decisively defeated Golovkin, then he could have been hailed as the champion. But that was not the case. He delayed the fight needlessly for 2.5 years, so that GGG would get old. Now Golovkin is no longer in his prime and even if Canelo manages to defeat him (without the support from the judges), he won't be able to take a lot of credit for that win.

GGG ok it's going to be hard to predict how he's going to fight at 40. On the other side is a Canelo who came from defeat. I think GGG will be in the ring fit and in good condition. Will they go to desicion or in the match here or will either of them break one of them. I think Canelo can do it, Tko. But I don't think the match will end with TKO. I think there are a lot of parameters that will be a good trilogy, I think both of them will not play risky, they will play each other equally to the points. Good fight night GG.
Most of the experts predicted that this fight will go to the judges' scorecards, or if there's a KO, it should be Canelo winning the fight. Yes, GGG is already 40 years old, but is it right to call him old? I don't think so, he won his previous fight and I'm sure he still has a lot to offer and he can entertain us in this fight.

This could be his retirement fight if he losses, so hopefully he will not.

Canelo is heavily favored based on the betting odds.

Well, Golovkin is not that agile anymore compared to his prime years but the thing about him is that he can still win fights because of the IQ he acquired throughout those years he's been fighting and Golovkin haven't tasted another defeat after Canelo. Also, those said experts are not that real expert in boxing nor can predict the outcome, those people are just self-proclaimed experts.

Still, I believe that Golovkin can still make Canelo struggle and can beat him, and based on that odds, betting on Golovkin quite tasty.

They are just proclaiming themselves as experts thinking that they can correctly predict the outcome base from their own analysis, there's no accurate results as the outcome always happens at the end of the fight, early predictions are just self owning, no offense to those who support those types of analysis but experienced, wise, upset always happens to this sport and we really don't know if how both fighters prepared from this upcoming trilogy.

A winner takes all here, I mean if ever Canelo will win he can end this rivalry while if GGG wins he will add more value to his career.

He can either retire or he can ask for better TF and shares if Canelo's camp will ask for another rematch.

Indeed! I don't even know why these so called experts are so hyped even if they cannot exactly predict what will be the outcome of the match, they are just basing everything on age and recent performance that's why they are saying that every odds are in favor of Canelo. I for one doesn't believe these experts and only rely on my analysis.

I only hope that this fight does not go to the technical part, but that both boxers come out explosive, that nothing is saved, besides this fight has been sought and requested for a long time, many things were done so that this fight give, now with all these speculations I don't want the fans to be biased by a single boxer, for now the most important thing is to see every detail of the boxers, the interviews, everything possible, I have also seen that many are going to support GGG , and that seems good to me, before this fight these boxers had encounters that did not go very well for them, however, despite that, this fight will take place.

I am not sure about which boxer enjoys a greater amount of support. I assume that within the United States (especially among the Hispanic population) Canelo enjoys a greater support. Among the global audience, Golovkin maybe ahead. The odds for Golovkin have remained the same for the last several months. This makes me wonder about his support level. Given how attractive the odds are, a lot of people would have placed a bet for him. But that is simply not happening. I guess fans are being held back due to concerns related to his age.

Or maybe Canelo's fans is also betting on him that's why there are no change in the odds. Regardless, there could be some that already bet already on GGG because of the great odds and they don't want to missed it.

But what we wanted to see is just the judges here being fair at least to GGG. Canelo might gain respect more if he wins and it was he was deserving, not just a home cook judge who is going to vote for Canelo just because he is the cash cow.

Well apart from the fact that this is something that only we fans can decide on a bet, the truth is that right now I don't know who to bet on, it's incredible, because I see both boxers at the same level, and that makes it difficult for me, for me I don't think so there is a lot of limitation in age, I think that an older boxer should be more careful than a young and rookie who has no idea of ??the trajectory of his opponent, or who simply does not care, for me these things are irrelevant, because I clearly evaluate the strategy and the capacity they have in strength and resistance, that is why I insist that hopefully this fight should not be decided by the judges, it would be something sad and at the same time annoying.

And Canelo is still a huge favorite, no surprises here, but hopefully GGG will give us a want we wanted to see. And I agree about the call to the judges to be fair just in case this fight is going to end in their hands.

This could possibly be the last time they will meet in the ring, Golovkin already hint at retirement the worse thing that could happen is the fight will end where the decision will go to the judges and the result could go either way, The Boxing Commission should see to it that they let judges who are fair and with a good reputation to handle the fight so the result will be acceptable to the boxing community, but it's better than the fight ends in stoppage so the result is final and will not be debatable.
For me, GGG has always been one of the most iconic boxers, I would not like him to retire, because there is the possibility that if he wins, they would look for more fights, and it is not a bad thing, quite the opposite, and GGG could be thinking that They are new opportunities for him, I am not in favor of a boxer serving less or losing talent when he gets older, I think this does not apply in boxing, because he has much more to offer, on the other hand, Canelo has many reasons why can win, the doors would be opening for him in everything again, and possibly as I have said before, a rematch against Bivol, I think this is his first objective.

Yes, it's obvious that there is a language barrier for GGG, but in any case, he just expressed his appreciation to those who went and watch their face-off. I still remember Osar Dela Hoya being the face of Mexican boxing for many years and Sept is his fighting month, now it's Canelo Alvarez turn.
That's why it's necessary that Canelo will win this fight so he will continue to represent the Mexicans.

And Canelo is still a huge favorite, no surprises here, but hopefully GGG will give us a want we wanted to see. And I agree about the call to the judges to be fair just in case this fight is going to end in their hands.
The age gap and the standing are the basis why Canelo is still the favorite, also, he won the last fight so it's no surprise that he is listed as the favorite, what I'm surprised with is that he is a huge heavy favorite.
He can continue to rep the Mexicans though even if he losses this fight. And he has a lot of fans around the world, not just Mexicans so again, he will have a lot of support same with Golovkin.

Yes, it's true that he is the favorite even if Bivol beat him is because of the age gap. Golovkin is 40 years old and there could be sign that he is already slowing down. On the other hand, Canelo at the peak of this career and they are fighting at this weight class.

Yes, in fact GGG has many opportunities to win, it is not a lie that at 40 years old some things can be slowed down like skills, but having a talent like him is difficult, if we look at the hero of the Mexicans, yes, in fact it is a very good representation, I don't know if you remember the singer, a Mexican boxer who is also a singer, he was also a great promise in the featherweight, he is very good, but now Canelo has a pending ditch with Bivol, the fight against GGG is important but I say that the rematch he has against Bivol is much more relevant, because the Mexican did not look very good, so he has to clean his name.

Amazing how embarrassing could this be if Canelo loses the fight but Judges may really be on his side.

It's because the interviewer didn't asked the right answer or he just put GGG on the spot. So I don't think that he is not that confident is this fight, he is smiling and acknowledging the crowd but it was obvious a pro-Canelo. And that needed 8 lbs could bring something good in GGG, I think if he decided years ago to move to this division, he can do that. But obviously, he chooses a weight that he dominated for years and that is a good strategy for his career.

Yes, it could be he is put on the spot and the language barrier probably all he could say is "Come on guys".
But Do you think he is also worrying that this is all for the show for Mexican independence and this fight has to be won by their hero?

I see you discussing Canelo and GGG weight. What do you think about following: GGG has only one fight in super middleweight division against Murata. Before that, he has never been in that weight. On the other hand, Canelo already had 4 fights as a super middleweight and several fights as a light heavy. That might be an advantage for Canelo. And a disadvantage as well. As on a scales they both will be super middleweight, but at a day fight Canelo will be bigger, stronger, slower. Do you think that experience in fighting in a several lbs division is useful or worthless ?
