You own the pen

That if he will do the same strategy, Canelo knows that his strategy will not work, expect a new strategy design solely to beat Bivol, however, I still think that Bivol is a much stronger boxer so I'm thinking maybe Canelo will still struggle beating him.

Looks like Canelo is more discipline in this fight and he was very effective and more confident to win this time. He really deserves a re-match with Bivol and it will be no doubt a different Canelo will gonna face him if ever they will gonna make it happen. right now, that's all everyone wants after they see the performance of Canelo today, and might gonna happen just before the end of this year or might be next year.

Congratulations to Canelo and good luck in fighting Bivol soon.
Now, this one is going to be exciting, Canelo already bring his name back as he impressed the fans, this rematch should be interesting.

IMO, Canelo will still be having a hard time defeating Bivol if we based our speculations on his performance today. Though he won against GGG but for me it is not that he has improved, just that GGG was saving his stamina in the later rounds or he will be gassed out early. When he started throwing that jab, Canelo got problems and if Bivol will do the same but on the early rounds then i think the outcome of the rematch would be the same as the first fight.

it took 12 rounds and a decision to defeat GGG. seem not a real fight to me actually. canelo seem very careful in getting too close to fight toe to toe. no highlight that really inflicts damage. its either that or he makes sure the crowd will enjoy a 12 round fight for the independence day celebration. anyone see it like this is an exhibition fight?

Absolutely not, there's so much at stake to call this an exhibition match, there's not much action between the two, that's because they have too much respect for each other and they both know that one bad or false move one of them can get himself knock out
GGG shows an aging sign and Canelo is just too much for him but he can still fight any fighter in the middleweight division and can still beat them, for Canelo its another great highlight for his career he still has a long way to go and the boxing community is waiting for the next fighter to fight him, many are lining up now.

Canelo respect the power of GGG, and why would he will go for a KO if he can beat GGG with his speed. We saw how GGG slowed down already, he is not the same GGG that fought Canelo in their previous fight, I think the result of the fight clearly tells GGG that he has to retire already.

Final Scorecard is as follows:

Dave Moretti: 116-112 for Canelo
Steve Weisfeld: 115-113 for Canelo
David Sutherland: 115-113 for Canelo

Canelo Alvarez retains WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring super middleweight titles.
while the votes shows favoring GGG yet the truth revealed and that is Canelo really deserve this win , he had a best shot for this one as GGG had done his job in boxing and I think this is the right timing to take a vow and retire for good.
this will Give him a graceful exit for the benefits of His career and personal life.
It was a very convincing win by Canelo, now the fans will stop believing that GGG is the better fighter, he was already slow and could not match Canelo's quickness. Yes, congratulations to him, he deserves that win.

Congratulations to Canelo and good luck in fighting Bivol soon.

I am watching the fight, as well as following Sporting News and CBS Sports for unofficial scorecards. The score so far is:

CBS Sports: 99-91 Canelo (Canelo won 9 out of 10 rounds)
Sporting News: 96-94 Canelo (Canelo won 6 out of 10 rounds).

Golovkin making strong comeback from rounds 6-7, but it looks as if that is not enough. Canelo is the clear winner of this fight, by a good distance.

Canelo won but not with a good distance as two judges scored it 115-113 so there could be a draw if GGG won one more round which could spark controversy again. I've watched the fight and I think GGG has lost 9 rounds. If only he fought his fight in the early rounds the outcome could have been different but as they said, he was fighting as an old man, he may be gassed out if threw punches early and got knockout on the championship rounds.

So for me, this is the end of this match as clearly GGG is aging and depriving the fans of his true fighting style.

I had already commented here that GGG would lose and the main reason that would make him lose in this fight is his age, which is already very advanced, I still don't understand why fighters reach more than 37 years old and don't want to retire they still want to keep fighting even though they know that their movements have already become slower, they get tired more frequently because they lose resistance over the years and to worsen his disadvantage in relation to age he was fighting an opponent who is still young who has less than 35 years old, what surprised me was that the result was not a crushing victory for canelo alvarez, I imagine that canelo alvarez would win without any difficulty because he is young and the opponent is already someone old for the fighting world, but to my surprise GGG fought well, he wasn't crushed like I thought he would

I also don't see GGG winning the fight even if he won another 2 rounds. It was very clear from the beginning that GGG has lost the speed already. It's so glaring if we are going to compare it with their second fight like 4 years ago. He said he still has it, but I doubt it. And there were moments in the fight wherein he looks like getting hurt by Canelo, he was stop on his tracks and then regroup again. Round 9 was great though, the bes round in this fight and I would give that to GGG. But the rest, it was a clear and dominant win by Canelo so yeah, probably 9 rounds for him, and 3 for GGG.

So as expected, crypto bookies is just about right putting Canelo as the heavy favorite. And yes, it was a complete shut out performance by Canelo. As for GGG, no excuses, but if this fight could have happen years ago, he could have a shot against Canelo.

Nevertheless, there is no controversies, Canelo deserved a win will go for Bivol in a rematch. GGG though can continue to and fight, maybe he will have like 2 fight more in him before he call it quits.
Same thinking. If only this trilogy happened when GGG is a bit younger, he can beat Canelo but unfortunately age does matter and he is not the same as before. Clearly Canelo wins and because of this he redeem himself again for his past losses therefore it opens more opportunity. Anyway I dont think GGG will retire after this.

Canelo winning was a completely expected result. I didn't think this fight was necessary after such a long time but this fight was so profitable for promoters that they made it anyways. This fight was not very close so I don't agree with the scorecards but it was impressive to see GGG go the distance and still trying to go for a knockout when that was his only option remaining. I think GGG can still continue his career at middleweight but I would prefer if he retired before he diminishes further.

The margin is too close when many have it with a wide margin MMA Fighting scores the round 10-9, Canelo. Overall, 119-109 Canelo.

I have GGG winning only by 3 rounds its a complete shutout and this closes the rivalry between these two great fighters, Canelo is very aggressive in the whole fight, GGG is always in a defensive mode, I don't think he will retire although it is a good option if he does this, as he already established his legacy for Canelo it opens up a lot of opportunity maybe he will opt for a Bivol rematch the only active fighter that has beaten him.

Canelo bounce back from a loss by winning this fight via unanimous decision the decision this time is uncontested he is more aggressive and connects a lot of big shots, GGG has shown slowness on his move but is still good, the fact that Canelo cannot hurt him seriously made us think that GGG can still continue to box, he sis moving forward now maybe he'll go for Andrade or offer a rematch against Bivol, his pound for pound ranking will surely improve with this win.

Very one sided fight so far. Canelo simply dominating and Golovkin showing the negative impacts of ageing.

https://www.cbssports.com/boxing/news/canelo-alvarez-vs-gennadiy-golovkin-3-fight-results-live-boxing-updates-scorecard-start-time-undercard/live/

As per CBS Sports, Canelo ahead by 50-45. First five rounds go to Canelo.

I totally agree I'm also scoring the fight on my own and based on my score card GGG hasn't won a single round had the same score card, if this goes on GGG will have to knock out Canelo in order to win, Canelo is very aggressive throughout the fight, GGG will have to take action onwards for him to win by decision, but for now its all Canelo.
