Wow. Pretty unfair odds for GGG. I myself understand that he cannot be the favorite in this fight simply because of his age, but 3.90 against a boxer who was defeated in a previous fight and is perhaps in a crisis? Looks like it's time to bet on GGG. By the way, I don’t know how much it need to believe in Canello after the beating that happened to bet on him with odds of only 1.21.
What would you expect?

I wasnt surprised that Canelo would be the favorite and the underdog would be GGG but seeing those odds then its not really that bad to take some shot or make bets with GGG.
Despite of the age difference and that prime topic then i dont have any question on that but ggg could still or possibly able to beat him off.
3.9 odds isnt that bad to consider honestly.

May be at least 1,4 - 3 would be more fair?
In fact, after such a devastating defeat, the bookmakers must take into account the risk that Canello “fell down” psychologically or physically, but there is nothing like that in the odds. Quotes seem to tell us that nothing happened, and Canello's opponent is not GGG, but another average boxer.

GGG is now in the retirement period and honestly, I see the odds for him make sense. Even though he did a KnockOut win against Murata in his last fight, the latter is not even considered a heavy opponent for him but still, GGG seems to struggle during the early rounds of that fight and just began to get his momentum in the late rounds until the 9th Round TKO victory for him.

Canelo on the other hand is no doubt still at the peak of his career. Even if he loses to Bivol, they are both in their prime right now and can't be taken as a reference that GGG can still put Canelo on his limit on this match.

@3.90 for GGG is great odds for those who are eyeing for him to win. Who knows GGG still has much gas left on his tank.

People love to see this rematch to happen for years now and i hope this information is legit and final decision because surely it will become the most interesting rematch this year IMO.  Indeed we all saw how they gave us a good fight on the previous match, So no doubts its a good fight again.

It's final and going to happen in September, many boxing sources have confirmed it already.

And I agree that the odds are not surprising at all, they are putting Canelo again in this fight to win but with him coming from a big loss to Bivol, GGG might see that Canelo has somewhat slow down already. So this is going to be a close fight, and just like the last two fights, it could go either direction and it's going to be up to the judges again to score but hopefully they get the right winner.

At the age of 31, Canelo looks to be nearing retirement. He appeared to have lost his motivation, or been in too many wars against Bivol.
I don't know about that, he's probably one of the more active fighters, and recently challenged himself in a different weight class. That's something that's refreshing about Cancelo, and probably why he is such a fan favourite. He is probably one of the more active bigger names. I love Tyson Fury right, but he doesn't fight enough. Same as Joshua, and the like. Cancelo constantly is thinking about his next fight, so I don't think it's a motivation issue  for him.

Probably has a few years left in him too.

Canelo to me is the most overrated boxer in the world. I don't understand how he gets so much hype behind him.
This I can somewhat agree with. I've always thought this, hence why not following him all that much. Thought he would struggle against Bivol, and that was proven to be true. Not sure, what to say about him really. He's a great boxer, but definitely overrated, isn't anywhere near the greatest of all time, that inevitably was thrown around about him.

Have attached in the OP the link to the article so if you like to open it, please do. This is legit news that Canelo and GGG will be meeting for the third time in the ring this September and yeah those first two fights were pretty exciting and controversial as well but this time around I have doubts that this would be a close one because GGG's performance on his last fight was not so impressive but I hope I'm wrong so we could not see a boring fight come September.

Yes, saw this thread a couple of days ago and it's good that we have a thread already,  Smiley

Line is open already,

Alvarez - 1.21
Golovkin - 3.90

So obviously Canelo again will be the favorite, but I think this fight is going to be close again and could end up in the score card. And maybe Canelo might win by a narrow margin, around 115-113 for him.

People would really be still loving to see this Trilogy which lots had been anticipating for too long and now it would really happen. THanks for the share up bud.
I do agree that it should really be done few years back where GGG isnt really still near on his retirement or simply being old but for sure he do still have something into his sleeves.
But i would really be still considering for Canelo on closing this one for good.  Wink

Canelo alvarez vrs triple ggg is a good fight and for me it's a nice to watch, and interesting because they will face again in The ring and defend their self but for this time we can not say that canelo is the winner and also we can not say that triple GGG is the winner cause for sure they will prepared to to this fight and also the people who want to watch the fight will be excited .

After Canello lost to Bivol, it would be a strong move for GGG to deny Canello this fight. I see no point in this fight for GGG - firstly, GGG is already very old, and secondly, Canello is already defeated. Why give him a chance to rise (in the name of GGG) again?
It's personal for GGG. You already said he is old and his chance of avenging his only loss will get smaller if he doesn't accept the fight now. He probably understands the odds might be against him but he knows has more to gain in this fight than suffering another loss.

He might be older now but he still have some chance, you know, people want to see GGG win because this might be his last fight and the people also wanted to see Canelo with two consecutive upsets this year. Just let the man have the fight that he is been waiting for years, although the odds now is against him compared to their last fight 4 years ago.

That's why I don't understand why Canelo is so heavily favored considering he is coming from a big loss. I mean, GGG is not a left over fighter, he is a great fighter who can give a good fight with Canelo, and actually he is a big threat for Canelo since this man (GGG) will try again to convince people that he is the better fighhter.
Since GGG had won the match in the first fight then the man was a big threat to Canelo, Canelo had to train hard for the last fight to decide who could prove superior between the two boxers, the trilogy fight would decide who would be the victor for the ring lord title boxing, after the two previous boxing fights ended in a draw.

Betting for GGG as fan add weight while watching the fight, I'm sure he's more aggressive, and he really wanted to make this last shot

to win and bring the hype under his name before retiring. Though Alvarez still has the heavy favorite from the bookies, we don't know

if another upset will happen to him again, just like his last fight against Bivol.

It's hard to get up from a loss and its a cause of concern if your next opponent after the loss is someone who knows you and is capable of beating you, this is a big dilemma for Canelo's camp, but Canelo has been used to pressure but he cannot afford a loss on his next fight and GGG is already on the twilight of his career and he needs one big fight for his legacy, this is a fight worth the hype and the money, this trilogy could become a candidate for a fight of the year as both are pressure to give all their best and win.

I love the odds, and I love betting on GGG on that odds. In the last two fights, Canelo did not really dominate GGG, so for the last time, I'm going to back him to win as 3.90 odds is just hard to resist. How about you guys? Are you tempted by GGG's betting odds?

Good odds. I'm 100% decided already to bet on GGG. The time for him is running out and soon he will retire. Canelo losing the match still has lots of opportunities to fight and claimed many more titles while on the other hand GGG I think if wins or loses in this match, he will now hang his gloves.

Canelo also seems to become less confident now after an underdog Bivol turned him into a punching bag. I hope he can pull a win here. Canelo will be even more upset as the rematch with Bivol will not happen if he loses here.

Canelo won both fights.

1st fight Split Decision.
2nd fight Majority Decision

However, despite that, people still asked for a trilogy because they believe that GGG has a shot of beating Canelo.
I don't count the possibility of GGG winning the fight, though he is older now but he still has the power to KO a boxer, and Canelo is not exempted.

I like the fact that GGG is a heavy underdog.

Sorry, but to me you look like a couch experts, that did not see both fight, but have a strong opinion who has won and who has lost.

First fight is a draw. But to me GGG won by slip decision. Because how can judge be obvious and put 118-110 points? 8 point difference, when other judged scored a very close fight with few points advantage and a draw. That judge must be bought or blind.

Second fight - very close fight where Canelo won 2 last round, when others were draw. But I would not say as Canelo say "Total dominance and he has nothing to prove anymore".

For me it is 1:1 between them.

I remember watching the first game wherein the game resulted in a draw, though I do think that Canelo deserved that win.

On game 2, both of Canelo and GGG showed tremendous talent wherein GGG had this steel chin. Despite all the powerful shots that Canelo threw, GGG will not fall on the ground and he continued to fight like nothing happened. Though the game ended with Canelo winning, I think a draw was sufficient and equal on that match.

Now that the trilogy will finally happen, I hope that this fight will be more convincing compared to all the previous fights that it left everyone with their own opinions on who won on that match.

There will be no plan for a trilogy if Canelo looks really considered by many to dominate GGG in their previous match. GGG never questioned the results but the boxing community and analysts are. That's the reason why the idea of having the trilogy didn't get buried for years even though GGG is now almost 40 years of age and close to retirement.

There are lots of good fights waiting for Canelo but still, many are demanding that a fight with GGG should happen. It's because they think results from a Decision are crap and the true winner of their fight should be decided in Knock Out.

Exactly, many boxing pundits thinks that GGG won the first fight, and the second is very close as well. That's why the trilogy story didn't die and fans wanting it to see. And now it's materialized even though GGG is now almost 40 years old. But it's rather late than never, if Canelo won't give in, then maybe once both retires, there could be arguments as to who is really the best and this fight will be the decider.
