Nobody expected this to happen we are all caught by a big surprise but we love to see Manny against any opponent I will still watch it, this is not going to be a walk in the park for Manny because they know that Ugas has been given a once in a lifetime opportunity, I'm sure he will go all out and will try everything to win I hope he will not do a Horn just to beat Pacquiao.

Social media is a powerful tool now. So whatever the judges will pull out here, all eyes are on them. So hopefully they will be fair and square with the judging. Also, the recording of the fight will not lie about what really transpired. This fight will not be interesting as Pacquiao vs Spence Jr, but I guess boxing fans will still watch it because of the possibility that this really will be Pacquiao's last fight inside the ring.

Well, you said it right, with the upcoming election, he might get attached with organizing all his political agendas. Fans, especially around the Philippines, are all in with him,

Though not as interesting as if it's the fight against Spence, but the fact that your legend/hero might take his last stand inside the ring
would be encourage you to watch and hope for the best outcome.

Age is no longer that big gap, so the other fighter gets the fight of his dream while the other one is trying to farewell with the big joy inside.

This could be the last we will see Manny fight in the ring he will be very busy after this fight and by the time there is an open for a new fight, he cannot do it because he is holding a high position and it won't let him fight again, or his body could not keep up anymore so I hope he can give us a great fight and he wins another title again, I lost count how many titles he wins people are only counting weight category.
bets to pray for him not to win in Politics so he will fight more in the future  Grin

but Kidding aside ,i think it is time for him to step down and focus in His other career in which politics and helping people because he has a good heart and a long way to go while accident in boxing might come one day.

but regarding to this fight , it is a sure win in his part because Ugas is not yet fruitful comparing to him so basically the fight will be for Manny and this is not the time for ugas.

That's okay. It's been quite a while until this came by surprise. Everybody has already extracted the surprising news and now looking forward to the match next week.
I'm sure he will go all out and will try everything to win I hope he will not do a Horn just to beat Pacquiao.

Why is Manny Pacquiao still fighting? I am sure that he has earned enough to retire with over 60 boxing fights and a previous champion. I would not risk it if I was in his position and he risks losing his impressive record because he will not be as good as he was in his prime.
Forget about his retirement. It's been said years ago that he should retire due to his age but seems no one can stop the fighting senator. Next week he's about to fight again so no one can stop that fight anymore. And to answer your question why he's fighting, there's a rumor that he's going to run for the highest position in the public service so he's needing more funds for it and that's why this fight is essential for him and the money he'll earn from this match.
but this time is different because he is aiming for higher position in politics so there is a chance that this time it is for real.

and besides he is already in the retirement ages so chances are there , but this is so early to expect now as the fight should be the main reason of our expectations.

Nah, I'd say he still the Pacquiao on the ring on the welterweight division at that age. And probably Pacquiao has the advantage on this fight, the speed and punches. If Ugas will not improve his fighting style based on his last fights as seems like he doesn't have a KO power, then that title (super champion) will be taken from him.
In some way because of his age , the speed might be lessen a little but Ugas skills and capacity aren't enough to Beat Manny in this fight .

because of the experience and dedication specially Pacquiao's ability that has been proven for many years, surely he will win back His belt even before the fight ends.

Surely betting for Manny's win here as my Bet are not that small to lose lol.

Yes the money that he'll earn in this fight is a big help to fund his campaign ads on the coming election plus if ever he win its an edge for him to get the votes of people for bringing another honor.

For now lets focus in this fight, its less than a week and though some changes happened and not exciting as it was before but it still a must watch fight.

I agree! Pacquiao loves his boxing career and like every fighter he will show his performance in every fight. Perhaps we are seeing Pacquiao's last fights before his retirement and if it is his luck to reach the Presidency, so be it.
If Pacquiao manages to win it, he would be consecrating himself as a leading person in all the areas that he has taken as challenges, fighting corruption of course there is envy and obstacles around him with the aim of making him falter.
My admiration for Pacquiao and my full support.
The Pacquiao and Yordenis Ugas fight on August 21 will be a very action-packed fight because both fighters are aggressive in the ring.

There's no doubt about that, the odds are in favor of Manny Pacquiao, and I don't think Ugas being a slow fighter could pressure Pacquiao. This is going to be a fight between a superstar and an amateur fighter, believe me, it will look like that, but people will still be entertain as Manny would win.
^ Definitely right, but Manny Pacquiao here does not underestimate Yordenis Ugas, he still has a power of a good fighter has, anytime if Manny could seriously manage his punches that is the time he could survive this fight and give KO to Ugas. If you compare to Spence here, Ugas has definitely had a great and better defense, while Spence is not good at slipping with front and back foot. Manny Should not be confident with his opponent and even Ugas is underrated, he could win this fight.

Will be watching this fight how Ugas will fight Pacquiao here. This is his big chance to show his power. But rooting for Pacquiao here. Not betting anymore as the odds for Pacquiao is low. I guess, a lot of bettors pulled out their bets. Some are even crying for refund of their PPV payment.  Grin I can understand their disappointments, they paid for Spence-Pacquiao not Pacquiao-Ugas, which is obviously has less interest from boxing community.

This is a good question and I already asked it in the previous thread. In my opinion, this is a losing strategy on the part of Pacquiao - he can no longer win more than he won, but he can lose part of his image if he leaves after a series of defeats from average boxers, and this is inevitable simply due to age.
Its his choice then lets just respect it because if he would able to win this upcoming fight then that would really be adding up into his legacy or greatness in this career but once he would be defeated then people
would just simply tell or do have in mind that he should retire since he's already getting old for this sport. He had already proven out and able to get recognition in this industry.
Theres no need to show off even more but since its his life then he would have the full control on when he would stop. This simply shows on how he loves boxing
and passionate with it.

A boxer is always a boxer his passion to his craft will always show up that's why we see Manny still fighting maybe the least we can do is to support him since he needs it for now and hopefully he will not get distracted for the issues he's on recently. Also he really need this fight since its additional exposure especially if he won since he plans to run a president so he need this exposure so that many people will talk about his name and he might get more supporter after he won the fight against Ugas.

The point of rushing everything before the election might have the big influenced on why Pacquiao takes this fight instead of waiting for a caliber one to face inside the ring.

The pressure of upcoming election push him to take whoever fighter that will provide for him, he's done with all the trainings and conditioning and if he'll wait for some delays, the fight might be moved to a much later time.

He needs to win both for glory and for the money; he needs to have deeper wallet before the election, needs to form leaders as early as now he needs to survey his chance and that thing won't work without expenses Cool Wink

I believe he has an easier fight now, and he still makes money since he is already guaranteed with $5 million USD which has a big equivalent in Philippine money. Gate entrance and PPV could be another source of revenue, so basically, he can take enough money to fund his campaign in the coming election. However, we should also not assume that he can get everything that was reported since he has to pay taxes which I believe 30% from what he will make in the fight, plus, another percentage for his manager.

You're right Manny has everything he wants if he's willing to take his share to get to the presidency, of course he needs more of a funding push but I don't think one game is enough to pay for a big campaign next year.
As long as the match will run to the end is also a pride for Jordan, because he was able to stand until the end of the round. Because it is often difficult for Manny's opponent to survive until the end of the round.

Somehow I think it's because this is his passion after all. We all know he earned more than enough of that and Pacquiao isn't just some sort of an athlete but somehow he's some sort of an investor too. He's been taking risks ever since and I don't think we can change his decisions in life and to be honest this isn't a Mayweather mentality that will care for his records. I believe PacMan still got the moves and the power to dominate this match and he's excited for this match too.

It’s not easy to give up the sports that you love and as per Manny, as long as he can he will still fight and this is not just about Money, this is also about loving the sports that changed your life for a better.

Yes, the risk of losing is always there and he might ended up on a bad situation, that’s why he trained a lot to become more fit and for sure, Manny will do everything to win.

Like he always does and Yordenis Ugas is not the kind of fighter that will stop Manny's career and force him to officially retire. With the way Manny is taking care of his body, I know for sure that he will still have a lot of fights to come, but just unfortunate the chance to prove to the world that he can reign in his division was taken away from him, but it's alright, we know he can be a GOAT.

Muhammad Ali is the GOAT in boxing, although Manny Pacquiao's achievement is probably higher as he is the only 8th world division champion, he can't officially be named as the GOAT, maybe because he is an Asian and since Americans would rather have their own.
