BREAKING NEWS !!!

Hearn, the manager of Joshua has stated that the first fight is going ahead in the summer of 2021: (SKY SPORTS)

Fury and Joshua have approved the fight "site" offer and they are finalising the site deal (whatever that might mean)

The location has not been formally announced but as soon the site deal is finalised there will be a press conference.
Finally this is the announcement that we have been waiting for a very long time, this is probably going to be the fight of the year as there is nothing more exciting than to see two heavyweight champions trying to see who is the best out of the two, I'm glad that the fight is actually taking place because I was beginning to doubt that would be the case because promoters have the tendency to make all kind of manoeuvres to try to hype the fight and for a moment it seemed that this was one of their tricks.

What are the possible countries for the venue of the fight?

I think @OP, better to make a poll about this and let us guesss.  Grin how about that? Me, I think it will be in Dubai.. would be great venue IMO.
The Saudi king family is offering $100 million for this fight other than that i have not heard any other offers from Dubai but the promoters are looking to put the fight together in the UK itself as it is the biggest fight in the history of boxing especially two English boxers and they can fill an entire football stadium.

That's a huge offer, but this is a huge fight and I think they need to find a way to make it happen in UK, it will be in the history, their country should benefit from this. Since this fight have a rematch clause, then maybe they can do it in other location in the 2nd fight, and if there's a trilogy, better be back in UK.

This is good to hear. I expected them to come to an agreement sometime this week. It didn't seem like a coincidence that Hearn, Arum, and Fury were all in Las Vegas at the same time. Now we just have to wait for the official announcement to find out the venue and which country will be hosting the event.

Great news. It should be noted that the efficiency with which this event is organized is quite surprising, since many boxing fans are used to waiting for important fights for several years. And here everything will be pretty fast and the second fight will take place in december  Cool

I'm sure Tyson's father is happy now, he will not anymore talk about contract without date and venue of a fight. Maybe fore now we can speculate on the venue to where it will happen, if it will be in the middle east ,I guess it's okay if that's the only way they can get a crowd to increase their revenue.

According to the Telegraph, the fiancée of murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi is asking them not to allow sportswashing to happen:

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury urged to turn down £100m Saudi Arabia deal by Jamal Khashoggi's widow - Telegraph Newspaper Link

Sportswashing might be one issue but Fury has added fuel to the fire by saying he has other offers on the table and would look elsewhere if a deal cannot be agreed on a venue with Joshua.

Maybe the fights between Fury and Joshua will not go ahead because their two fight deal was based on them finding a venue by Tuesday (tomorrow) otherwise there is NO deal and NO contract to fight allowing both to pursue other fighters.
I read the article and while 95% is about the crown prince of Saudi Arabia probably the most important fact is the one that your bring, boxing promoters do not really care about politics and there is a point to be made that they should not care, Fury has other offers over the table, that makes complete sense as he is a champion and the one that most recognizes as the best fighter out of the two, and I have said already this before but I will say it again, if this fight doesn't happen to me it's clear that Joshua is avoiding him.

The interview broadcast was after his latest interview stating if there was venue and deal today (Tuesday) then he was free to find other opponents to box. I think it looks more likely the two-fight deal will not go ahead.

Just today Fury did an interview with Behind the Gloves YouTube channel and he said that he is 100% certain that Joshua will be his next opponent. I don't think the venue will be much of an issue. Historically we have seen big heavyweight fights in countries with oppressive governments like the Thrilla in Manila and the Rumble in the Jungle. The promoters will go where there is the most money available and just recently we saw that the Joshua vs. Ruiz rematch was held in Saudi Arabia despite many people being against it.

People underestimate Joshua's technical skills as he is a very good defensive boxer when he wants to be the downside to his game he often gets caught in a punch up and he does not take those hits well. He has demonstrated this in the fights against Andy Ruiz 1 and Dillian Whyte. Both times he was doing alright until he got caught up in a trading match which he does more often than not lose. If Joshua can stay focused and not get caught up in a trading match then I think he will do better than most are expecting. The great news for Joshua is that Fury does not get into these trade up matches and that means that Joshua can keep a cool head and punch from a distance. The only issue with this is Fury is the larger man and I do think he has the better reach too.

We all know that Fury has very good movement for a bigger man and he has some very good technical skills but it would be silly to underestimate Joshua. We saw Fury take apart Wilder but I don't think Joshua will be as easy to pressure like that. Joshua does have some dangerous hands but he can also box something which Wilder can not do. I do think Fury will edge it over the two fights but I think its going to be closer than everyone is letting on.

Most people do seem to believe Fury will win but of the so many possible rumours out there I would think one of the far fetched and over exaggerated ones is that Joshua and Mayweather will collaborate. Joshua does not need a new trainer. Still the rumours persist.
I am not sure how this rumor popped up, Joshua does have a complete team but if he wants he can get tips for his defense from anyone if he wants to and that does not mean he needs to get rid of his entire team and some of the boxers especially Tyson Fury move out to different coaches to learn about the art of boxing and their techniques and so is the reason he is the best in the world.

We are yet to have a confirmed date and Tyson Fury has given the Joshua team the ultimatum to finalize things and it looks like they are looking for July 24 card if they could fill the Wembley stadium with hundred thousand fans. Is it even possible during the second wave and if they are too concerned about the live audience let them fight someone else and come back later rather than delaying tactics and testing the patience of everyone  Grin.

Votes in the poll: 45

Fury to win both fights: 35

Joshua to win both fights: 3

The poll has been stuck as 45 votes. hopefully we can get some more members to participate in the poll. With a potential boxing match of this magnitude I would have though many more members would have voted.

The most recent tweets sent by both fighters make it seem like they will get the deal finalized in the next few days. According to Tyson Fury they will be selecting a venue to host this fight during this weekend. Several countries are being considered. Now that covid restrictions are loosening there might be a chance they could have this fight in the UK or the United States but I predict it will end up in the Middle East.

This is actually my first time on seeing a contract that already talks about having 2 mandated fights no matter whats the outcome of the first fight where rematch is a guarantee

because among all of the boxing fights I have seen, rematch is still questionable or not know on when to happen but this one had already a fixed one which is unusual.

Winning the first fight doesn't only give out confidence but also this do add up more popularity on whose gonna pull off that win on first clash.  Smiley
Both are world champions so it is not rare for world champions to have a rematch clause in the case they lose, no one wants to lose their belts because as we know that means money, but even more importantly the lineal title is at stake, Fury is still the lineal champion but after his departure from the sport due to drugs many questioned whether or not he was still the lineal champion, he prevailed against Wilder and if he beats Joshua he will leave no doubt he still holds the lineal title and can be considered to be the best of this boxing era.

That's probably because of the popularity of Mayweather, fans easily turn their heads around once they heard that name, but you are right, that doesn't make sense, Joshua was successful wtih his trainer, why change it for a new experement when the fight is approaching, no more time for adjustments, it will only ruin what they have started.

Most people do seem to believe Fury will win but of the so many possible rumours out there I would think one of the far fetched and over exaggerated ones is that Joshua and Mayweather will collaborate. Joshua does not need a new trainer. Still the rumours persist.

That was just a rumor so it's really not true, unless Joshua will confirm that he will be working with Mayweather as his trainer.
You know, there's a lot of rumor on Joshua because he is the underdog here, so he will adjust and find more ways to win, it seems like people's mind are already lock in that Fury will win.
