Josh Taylor looking to knock out Teofimo Lopez early as he warns: 'I'm unlocking my full potential'
This is what I wanted to hear from Josh Taylor because he was been so quiet lately and the last time he showed his face in the public was the interview he had in the middle of Garcia vs Tank fight, IIRC. Now I know that Teofimo is also careful and can eat a couple of punch but when the fight started to drag longer, I really doubt that he can still keep up with Josh Taylor and probably the fight will result into a KO/TKO.
And Timothy Bradley is also backing up Josh Taylor to win this match, he says Teofimo Lopez doesn't have the firepower he had at 135 pounds because of the bigger fighter at 140 pounds.
Quote
“So I’m going with Taylor because he’s the veteran at 140 pounds of his career. He’s fought a lot of tough guys in the weight class, including Regis Prograis. I’m going on his body of work and what he’s done over the course of,” said Tim Bradley to Fighthype about his choice for Saturday’s match between Josh Taylor and Teofimo Lopez.
Source: Tim Bradley Picks Josh Taylor Over Teofimo Lopez For Saturday - Boxing News 24 (https://www.boxingnews24.com/2023/06/tim-bradley-picks-josh-taylor-over-teofimo-lopez-for-saturday/)

These two fighters are getting spicy at their trash-talking.
Josh Taylor just recently walked out of a joint interview because he said Teofimo Lopez is talking "absolute waffle". Grin "He doesn't make sense and he is boring", said Taylor.
Then a threat came out from Lopez, he said he will take the life of Josh Taylor. I don't know if they should investigate this or not, but we rarely heard a boxer say those kinds of things. Anywhere it goes, it is still a sport, you don't want the other boxer to die because you are both sportsmen. This ain't war. I think Lopez is making this personal and not in a good way, it's so deep that he could say such things.

Top Rank even increased their security just so these two won't be injured before the fight happens. They know the fire is burning too hot and they have to protect them or else we won't see a fight in the boxing ring.
It's not just Timothy Bradley but there are several boxers too who spoke up that Josh Taylor will be too difficult for Teo Lopez to handle.
Besides, it doesn't really matter who is backing it up or even someone will back up Teofimo Lopez because I don't think that it is still not clear for everyone to know that Teofimo Lopez is just way out of Josh Taylor's league. I mean, yes, he does have some chance but that chance is probably so slim that we cannot even see Teo winning and defeating Josh Taylor on the process.

At least on the schedule of title fights, Casimero have time to increase his ranks until next year to be able to be considered as one of the worthy opponent of an undisputed champion after Tapales and the winner of Fulton - Inoue fight which is somehow has a huge chance to be scheduled on Dec.

I am looking forward for Casimero to battle it out against the top contender of his weight division in order to make himself worthy of being the mandatory challenge of the undisputed champion next year.

Casimero is really good, but he has been hit by unfortunate circumstances in his life. He could have moved up when he was still a champion in the bantamweight division, but he did something stupid that led to the organization stripping him of his belt, which was then taken by Inoue with ease. Since I truly believe that Casimero deserves a chance to fight the best, I hope that the Inoue vs. Casimero fight will happen in the super bantamweight division.

We also need to add that he is not getting any younger as well, so that is one factors that he needs to look at, it will be one of the factors if he wanted to become a champion again in the super bantamweight division.

He is rank 5 if I'm not mistaken by WBO, the organization that gave him several chances to redeem himself while he was their champion. And yet, he was given a special opportunity and he is steady climbing in ranks. And I do hope that we won't have the mental lapses that he did before so that he still have time to become a champion.

Yes, that is a big factor on his side, but he seems to be still possesses that power even if he has moved up in weight class. We did see that he rocked Nghitumbwa in their fight, but it was just that he was too big for Casimero that's why he is hard to knockout as Nghitumbwa has rehydrated.

But in any case, he was given the chance so for sure he will not take that for granted. His new Japanese manager should look for better opponent next with the likes of Luis Nery. That will be an explosive fight but I think Casimero has a good chance to win it. Nery has a good rank, so if ever he beat him, he might be in line for the title next. If not then maybe another fight.

We all know that Inoue is a very gentleman boxer , he doesn't mess with anyone and he doesn't look for any type of problem either , I think that maybe for that reason they Respect him, as far as I'm concerned I see Inoue as a genius boxer, where he knows how to use every detail of his technique to apply it to a particular boxer knowing that his study is quite strong , then this is reflected in his victories, now, if Casimero considers that he thinks of him that way , well , I think not He has been very good at it , if he must have a Little desire to fight with him , but due to his track record he knows that he cannot be Trusted.

Like you, I always believe that Naoya Inoue is pretty much respected, and because of how he handles things in a very professional manner I likely am respecting him John Riel Casimero is respected in some way, but the way he handles cutting weight is pretty much absurd that he was stripped of the belt, because of what he did, it is really not like what Naoya Inoue's Approached well both fighters have a very different image and approached to their opponent, but both are respected by their fans,

He still got time maybe a couple of fights this year then maybe the next year or two to get a title match that is a worthy challenge for Naoya Inoue, well in this fight I surely respect Inoue now because of what he has achieved is pretty much hard one to get, undisputed and achieving to unified the WBO bantamweight title, I am kind of scared of what Naoya Inoue can bring to Casimero because I really think he needs more fights to get the level he needs,

I'm also expecting the same thing because why would Inoue have a different routine and have a much intense program, I know Casimero is also a skillful boxer and not good to underestimate with, but Inoue will just be the same Inoue and nothing will change. On the other hand, I know Casimero will not be quiet about it and will likely bark here and there as that is his way to sell a fight and to mess his opponents in the head. Although, I know that his preparations will be much more intense because the pressure are more on his side because aside from he waited for this fight, he also knew that Inoue is not that easy to defeat and he will have to face a lot of struggle first before he can be the winner.

They really need to make that fight happen because that's one of the greatest fights in this era if ever happened because both are good fighters and He is exactly what Inoue wants because he loves to fight boxers that are not afraid to take his shot and will gonna clash against him in the middle of the ring. On the other hand, Casimero wanted to prove that he can take Inoue's punches because for him he is no monster and it will only take 1 fight to prove that but as we know, they don't seem interested in him and they keep dodging to not gonna make it happen.

In that case, John Riel Casimero should catch up real soon and have another fight this year so that he can earn a much higher seat after Naoya Inoue is finished with Stephen Fulton, considering that the Japanese monster is successful in his part. Either way, I think it's pretty much a win-win kind of a situation for Casimero as long as he stays active this year because time will come, Inoue will need a stronger opponent if he chose to stay in the division.

The ball is on the side of Canelo now, there are two boxers that are waiting for him, Bivol and Benavidez. Very hard to see how Canelo though will beat both of this because of his recent performance against John Ryder, he wasn't able to knock down or knock out the Brits, causing fans to think that Canelo might be started on a decline.

So we will see who he favors, definitely he is going to chase for the money here, just a matter of time who will offer the biggest. Personally, David Benavidez might be a perfect fight for Canelo, very young and aggressive fighter and maybe Canelo has one fight inside of him to show his greatness and that might be the young Benavidez.
I think John Ryder was just a tough guy. His face and body were wrecked by Canelo without a doubt but he stayed standing until the end of the fight. That's a big heart for boxing and he proved they cannot just be knocked down that easily. There was a time he was wobbly in that fight but he recovered fast enough to avoid a knockdown.
About Canelo's performance, I think he is doing good, but not great, that left-hand injury must've affected him mentally as he is throwing it only for jabs and not for haymakers. If he ever fights a strong boxer like Bivol who uses his length and jabs, Canelo will be in a bad position. He won against Ryder because he didn't use jabs frequently and he started slow, Canelo took advantage of that and launch his attacks.
They should first check if he can throw big punches using his left before they put him in a fully lighted boxing ring again.

And that is what's the concern for Canelo, is that if he is the same fighter after the hand operation and surgery. And it seems he was really effective, it's already a given fact that every fighter is going to be tough as hell specially if they face a fighter like Canelo. But we have hear stories of fans really disappointed to see that Canelo can't bring this guy down. Although I would say that it's hard to please anyone, specially with Canelo's caliber, but this is supposedly a homecoming fight for him so the fans expecting some fireworks or at least a win by knockout by Alvarez but it didn't happen.

There are issues circling around Teofimo Lopez about his mental health and it is said in the news that it's about the ongoing divorce with his wife and not letting him see their baby. But he said he is in great shape so I think this fight will go on.

The fight will be a title match for the WBO World Super Light. This could become an entertaining match.

Teofimo being bz with the preparation enable him to avoid the ghost of his relationship with his wife.  With the upcoming fight, and Teofimo being a profesional boxer, I think he has no time to think about the ongoing devorce because his time is occupied by his training.  So I believe he is really in great shape when he stated that.

With the previous fight having the same result (split decision) I also think that the upcoming fight would be an entertaining match but I am still incline to think that Lopez has the upper hand in the fight.

we will just know the impact of his personal life after the fight is over. especially if in case he will lose the match, then other issues will emerge why the loss. but for now, we wish the best for him, at least achieve something for himself despite his personal problems.
also, have you read some articles that josh taylor is eyeing for the winner of spence vs crawford fight after his fight with teofimo? seems that he's confident that he will win over teofimo.
taylor wants ko as fast as he can, but imo, lopez won't give him easy fight.

Well, I'm more inclined seeing Teofimo Lopez being 100% focus in his fight although his chances to win are not that strong because I don't want to hear some issues about his possible reasons like whatever is going on in his personal life. We surely don't want Josh Taylor to win a fight just because Lopez got something serious in his personal life.

It's much better to see these boxers in a battle mode rather than having conflicts that will really affect their upcoming fight.

Odd says that Teo Lopez is the underdog in his fight against Josh Taylor. Yeah, we've read about his personal problems, about his divorce and what not. But as a professional boxer, he should know that it's better not to get affected by it, specially if you are training for a hard fight in your career. I think elite athletes knows how to separate it, and so we will see if Lopez has it or not to be an elite fighter.

It's ok to talk about it in public, but I do hope that it will not be an excuse to be used by Teo, saying that he is distracted by all the noise behind him. Just accept if ever he loses because the Lopez has a history of like not accepting their defeat, just like in the Kambosos fight.

Casimero is a WBO Global super bantamweight title holder now, I think he can force a mandatory fight with Inoue when Inoue successfully defeats Fulton. I'm not so sure about this but its possible. If no one else is just willing to fight Inoue why not Casimero.

It is possible but I think the no.1 contender has more chance for the mandatory title defense unless the boxing council will give authority for the champion to pick his opponent.

To Inoue however Casimero is a nobody. I guess its one reason he wouldn't respond to a call after all they couldn't just decide on their own.

As far as I know in their bantamweight day, they had an unfulfilled schedule fight.  It was canceled due to pandemic and was never been rescheduled again.  I also don't think that Inoue looks at Casimer as nobody because Casimero had proven himself by holding the WBO belt before it was stripped from him.  The belt was stripped not won by Butler against him.  It (belt strip) maybe cost by carelessness of Casimero but we cannot deny the fact that Casimero was a WBO bantamweight champion while Inoue is holding the other belt.

Inoue earn that respect because he shows it inside the ring, he's a gentleman and he's not doing any trash he just fight inside the ring and showcase his talent, I know for sure that if ever that by chance he and Casimero will meet inside the ring he will just do his usual practices and trainings and he will showcase his talent and let his action speak for him. I mean, let his performance speak if how dedicated he is and how he wanted to keep winning a fight.

I'm also expecting the same thing because why would Inoue have a different routine and have a much intense program, I know Casimero is also a skillful boxer and not good to underestimate with, but Inoue will just be the same Inoue and nothing will change. It was a sad day Daniel Nicolas a Filipino Boxer was defeated in a dominating fashion Kenji Fujita was really fast in his feat you can see who is more experience and who is dominating the fight Daniel Nicolas could have given Fujita some punches but what I see is if Nicolas could get 1 punch but Fujita will surely give Nicolas multiple punches in exchange, you can really see the level of the Japanese boxer to the Filipino boxer the fight was very onesided,

I guess the Japanese is really superior and didn't give Daniel Nicolas a chance to win in this fight. Anyhow, probably just one of those fights that it's hard to win for the Filipino as he lacks the tools to defeat the Japanese.

Lately though, there are a lot of good women's boxing, like Claressa here, who keep all her belt and intact for now.

Not sure though why it is being hated for now, maybe boxing pundits is really into men trying to out box each other and wanted to see a knockout unlike in women's boxing as we seldom see a knockout.

I don't really know what really happens if Nicolas has much time to prepare for landing in the country Japan, or if the Japanese boxer is just too much for Daniel Nicolas because watching the fight really shows how dominant the Japanese boxer is, and yeah he surely lacks to defeat the Japanese boxer,

It maybe the lack of preparation why Nicolas lost but it shouldn't be used as excuse.  I do not think Nicolas even being prepared will beat the Japanese boxer.  We have seen how dominant Nicolas opponent is reason why the Filipino boxer lost the fight

This coming weekend we are having a fight between Josh Taylor VS Teofimo Lopez, I think this is one crazy fight the undefeated Josh Tayker versus Teofimo Lopez maybe this could be a shot for Lopez or we could see if Taylor would get the win here,

Seem you see those two boxers as an equally matched since you think the fight can go either way, while I think Teofimo Lopez has a slight advantage in this fight.  I believe Lopez is a bit more skillful than Tayker, other may not agree but it is just me and my own little assessing skill.

Message @Hhampuz if you are looking for a CM!

Casimero is a WBO Global super bantamweight title holder now, I think he can force a mandatory fight with Inoue when Inoue successfully defeats Fulton. I'm not so sure about this but its possible. If no one else is just willing to fight Inoue why not Casimero.

There really has to be done for fights to happen because its just not fun anymore to see top boxers ducks each other. They better make things happen or its the fans losing their respect to the boxers they look up.

Ryan Garcia and Tank Davis set an example already for them already. So if Casimero comes looking for fight pointing Inoue, a yes or no answer at least will shed the light and giving the organisations to decide.

As far as what I can see from Naoya Inoue, he is not the kind of boxer who ducks someone or somebody just to make a safety precautions so that his career will remain unscathed mainly in his position now where he is still in the process of building his legacy by taking belts in every division he steps into. Super bantamweight is his fourth division and sooner or later, he will be become a four division champion just like how he envisioned himself and he can even achieve a feat of being a back to back undisputed champion in two separate division.

As for John Riel Casimero, he should stay humble and active for now so that his rank will steadily go higher. Having said that, he needed to have at least one more fight before this year ends so that his name will be among the top dogs next year and will be able to take advantage of any opportunity.
