Bookies create that odd and for sure there are many Pinoy fans who take that opportunity to support Jerusalem with that sweet odd for sure fans who really love watching and supporting this sport will be glad to spare some money for the home pride, sad to say but bookies is right when they place this odd and those who risk their bet for Jerusalem losses their stake.

Great match. The champ did try to defend his belt, but the challenger is really powerful when he already gains his rhythm and starts throwing those solid combinations.

It was really the bookies that are setting up the odds but surely many Filipinos want to support their fellow countrymen and have seen this as a good profit aswell If Jerusalem wins sadly to say it was not Jerusalem's time 1st title defense and it was all a lost and I surely don't go with betting with Melvin Jerusalem because I can feel that it is risky his Opponent was an Oscar De La Hoya's boxer and getting this fight and with that kind of position they really know who's going to win in this fight

I can say, Oscar Collazo is one bad Mother, Father those punches of his were really powerful for Melvin Jerusalem to stop the fight and retired, that is how powerful that body blow felt,

It was really a Sad day for the Filipino Community because another 1 belt was lost, I really think Jerusalem's camp underestimated Collazo, for me because Melvin Jerusalem doesn't have a great camp at all and never engages in what Oscar Collazo is capable of well I am saying this I think they just look at the paper records of Collazo and doesn't really see what he is capable of, but surely I really don't want to blame anybody and they surely did what they can do,

Tomorrow, PH time, Melvin Jerusalem will make his first WBO minimumweight title against Puerto Rican Oscar Collazo.

What makes this fight interesting is that Jerusalem is placed as the underdog against Collazo, who by the way has only six fights as a pro boxer. On the interview, Jerusalem said that he is motivated by the underdog tag and I'll bite that  Grin, so I'm placing a bet for him ML @3.51. Hope he will retain the crown and continue the streak of upsets done by Filipino boxers.

Unfortunately, I have to be the breaker of this sad news, but Melvin Jerusalem lost the fight as he was stop in the 7th rounds by Collazo. Melvin did start great in the first four rounds, but it seems that Collazo is just taking his time and trying to read Melvin early.

As it become move evident that Collazo is the more powerful puncher between the two and for 3 1/2 rounds he started to battered our very own Melvin. And as tough as he is, Jerusalem says "no mas".

Sad day for Ph sports fans. Fil-am coach Erik Spoeltra's team, Miami Heat also lost. I also thought Jerusalem would successfully defend his belt but well, it is what it is.

The odds were not that surprising, the house will always do its research thoroughly and seldom lose. Jerusalem might be the champion but we should not forget that he was losing the fight before delivering that scintillating punch that enabled him to become the WBO champion. Besides, the number of fights does not really matter much because it is all about the quality of opponents. Prior to becoming champion, Jerusalem was fed with weak opponents by the former ALA stable. He was then given a title fight against a Thai and lost then comes another unpopular but world-class Ph fighter, Joey Maderal Canoy where Jerusalem lost again.

Collazo on the other hand was tested right away when Golden Boy took him. He beat another Filipino, the battle-tested former WBO champion Vic Saludar and then went on to the eliminator before facing Jerusalem. Fun fact, Saludar also won the belt from a Japanese and then lost it also to a Puerto Rican who then lost his belt to a Japanese whom Jerusalem beat. So maybe the trend will repeat again. Cheesy

Today's 4 title fights resulted in 3 upsets and 3 new world champions:
Matchroom/DAZN- Leigh Wood(27-3-16 KOs) snatched the vacant WBA featherweight belt again with a decision against the overweight ex-champ Mauricio Lara(26-3-19 KOs).
Boxxer/Sky Sports(UK)- Another upset, Chris Billam-Smith (18-1-12 KOs) is the new WBO cruiserweight champion with a  majority decision win over former champ Lawrence Okolie (19-1-14 KOs).
Top Rank-Queensberry/ESPN-BT Sport(UK)- Luis Alberto Lopez (28-2-16 KOs) retained his IBF belt with a huge uppercut against the Irish favorite Michael Conlan (18-2-9 KOs).

It is very interesting why Melvin Jerusalem is tagged as the underdog when

1.  He is the champion
2.  He has more fight
3.  He has more KO victory
4.  They have almost the same KO percentage
5.  Jerusalem losses were not a knock-out but a decision.
6.  Both is on their prime

I don't understand on what ground they label Jerusalem as the underdog.  This would be a treat from the book maker since I believe there is a higher chance for Jerusalem to win this fight than Collazo since The champion has way more experience than Collazo.

They might have seen something about Oscar Collazo being this kind of a favorite and in addition to this Oscar Collazo is Oscar De La Hoya's boxer so there is no wonder there is a big hype surrounding this boxer, and surely the odds were true because Oscar Collazo won against Melvin Jerusalem via KO/TKO retirement from Jerusalem's corner, it was a very sad day for the Filipino community,

Yes, most likely because of his KO rate that's why he is the favorite in this fight. Nevertheless, Melvin is the more experience fighter here and he just won the belt. But we will see, sports bookies always underestimate Filipino boxers, but nevertheless when they show good boxing skills they might change their tune. So let Melvin proved his dominance in this fight and hopefully he will win by a knockout to silent his critics and then sports bookies don't doubt himself in his next fight. But on the other hand, backers and supporters of Melvin will be very happy to see him as the underdog because of a great returns if you bet on him even at Money Line.

There is a huge something about this but watching the fight in the first 3 rounds Melvin Jerusalem is dominating the fight and he is more active inside the ring making his way to give Collazo more punches but in the 4th round it suddenly changes and now Oscar Collazo was the one dominating the fights and was very active toward Jerusalem, and then until the 6th round, Oscar Collazo have so much body shots landed on Melvin Jerusalem that he can not take anymore, and on the 7th round were Jerusalem was already knocking down and can not make it that is the time he has retired and give-up the belt on Oscar Collazo,

It was an upset for the champion but the bookies were really right about Oscar Collazo being faster and were technical looking and managed to see Jerusalem style in the 1st 3 rounds that are the time when he sees the opening and make a great comeback over Jerusalem, truly Oscar De La Hoya has good eyes in keeping a boxer with true potential,

Weird, as a champion Jerusalem is the underdog here? I haven't check on Oscar Collazo record though but it doesn't make sense for a champion to be treated  by sports bookies as the underdog.

Nevertheless, it could be good though for us who are looking to support the underdog here.

And that ML, very attractive and hopefully Melvin again prove his detractors wrong but winning this first fight as a champion.

It's kind of make it confusing why Oscar Collazo has been the favorite while the Filipino champion has been tagged as the underdog, I looked it up and searched the record of this challenger and thought that maybe because of his KO rate of 66.67% while the champion have a much lower percentage with only 54.55% but still, it doesn't make sense at all. Well, maybe he's just overrated because of some reasons that we might not know but I pretty much doubt his existence to finish the Filipino's reign.

The sad truth for Melvin Jerusalem to become the underdog in this fight even though he is the champion and he likely has 20 fights, the bookies are likely underestimating Jerusalem so much, and they already made a thing that Oscar Collazo has already won and congratulated him already, this surely boils Melvin Jerusalems anger to the point he will likely show his everything towards the fight,

Same here, I already thought about it a couple of times already and tried to find what ground did these sports bookies see or figure to make Melvin Jerusalem's challenger, Oscar Collazo, as the favorite in this bout when almost all of the possible reasons how to figure out which is favorite is pointing towards the current champion, Jerusalem.

Seems to be interesting enough to see why but I doubt that this newbie can make a difference against a much more experienced boxer in the field. Although, there is a chance for him to win, of course, but that same chances are probably much lesser than slim. No offense.

No one expect that Nghitumbwa is one tough opponent.  Casimero did his best and even KD his opponent, it is that his opponent can receive his punches well.  Not because the opponent is unknown it will be easier for the known one to beat him.  Remember Manny Pacquiao is also unknown when he fight and beat Ledwaba.  I think Casimero is lucky because he intimidated his opponent early in the match giving him the chance to dictate the match.

When it comes to fighting against Inoue, I think Casimero is ready to fight Inoue way back 2 years ago.

Casimero didn't really expect it aswell, Fillipus Nghitumbwa surely is durable and has a chin for surely if Naoya Inoue would fight him body short might have some effect on him, but I really doubted it, but yeah many are really expecting a John Riel Casimero VS Naoya Inoue fight and many are really anticipating this fight, but I think Casimero will need to take out 1 of the targeted belt of Naoya so he would likely become the target so Naoya can not evade fighting him,

Likely I will surely search for a site where I can watch this fight but maybe it will be on mainstream media for a good view of the fight, but anyway I think Oscar Collazo can not be taken lightly by Jerusalem even though Melvin Jerusalem is the champion this could surely be out of hand of Jerusalem if hye underestimated Collazo, but I think if Jerusalem can for us the fight which is a good quality for Filipino boxers he can definitely win this fight,

Thanks, I search for the fight and yeah, it's interesting that Jerusalem is the underdog as a champion. And then both make weight. And Melvin said that he is fighting because he wanted to give his family a good life, sound interesting? Like Manny Pacquiao.

Hopefully as you have said, he will win this one so that he will remain as one of two? if I'm not mistaken as Filipino champion.

I would likely don't want to underestimate Oscar Collazo he is undefeated and he defeated Victorio Saludar via decision but it is because Saludar is refusing to be knockdown The fighting spirit was there for Saludar but Collazo is just good and has high power with his body punches for sure even though Jerusalem has many wins he can not take lightly Collazo I think the odds is a good thing Melvin Jerusalem can use this as a trigger angering himself to win this fight, I think the key thing that Melvin Jerusalem needed here to win is his gas should be fully prepared in this counter punch is  a must Collazo's body shot can be punishing, but if Jerusalem has more activity inside the ring he can likely win this via decision, let's be realistic if Collazo didn't fall via KO then decision win is really OK, now here are their fight event in Tapology

Good as he climb up to the ladder and becoming the number 5, just a matter of time for him to fight another rank boxer in the top. And for sure there will be hype on Inoue, so he will be back on the limelight at 122 lbs. Now just forget about Inoue for a while, he just need to get busy focus on his comeback trail and maybe if the time is right, then we will see him and Inoue fighting for the belt at super bantamweight.

Inoue is currently the number one challenger and will soon face the champion. Once Inoue succeeds, I'm confident that Casimero will strive to be more active and take on more fights to climb up the rankings.

Casimero has been chasing Inoue in the Bantamweight division, but unfortunately, he hasn't been given the opportunity to fight the beast. In the current division, I hope the highly anticipated fight between Inoue and Casimero finally happens, putting an end to the speculation and proving once and for all who the better fighter is and whether Casimero can defeat Inoue, thus dispelling any notion that Inoue is evading him.

Not only that, it will be the biggest purse of Tapales for sure and it will also be a privilege to fight one of the best and to pound for pound. Just watching how Inoue dismantle Emmanuel Rodriguez in two rounds, reminds me of Manny Pacquiao knocking out Eric Morales and saying no mas.
Yeah, it might be. Inoue fights are a must-watch boxing bout and many people will probably hype it on social media. Tapales camp will probably accept it even if they knew they will be the heavy underdogs in this match. The money they will claim will still be worth it and if they ever win it, that will be a bigger accomplishment for both Tapales' career and for his country Philippines.
Yes and you can hear the tug when Inoue throws his punch, power, both hands, and it's really scary. And again going back to the Emmanuel Rodriguez fight, you can see Rodriguez face with blood and he doesn't want it anymore.

Regarding ranks, I think Casimero is also in the high spot in WBO now after defeating Fillipus Nghitumbwa for the Global Super Bantam Title. The chances they will meet are getting thicker after winning 9 consecutive bouts. Maybe one more win for Casimero and they can start making a trend about their fight.
He is really being held highly by the WBO. Casimero is their former champion in 118 lbs and actually he didn't lost the belt in a fight. It's that he can't make the weight anymore. He needed another good dancing partner to bring the best out of Casimero.
If I am right, he is now ranked number 5 in WBO which means he is near having that chance for a title fight. One more good fight to show how mighty he is and I am sure he will be given a chance to either fight Inoue or if I were him I would focus on getting that title first so that he will have the respect back and the entitlement to pick who will he fight himself.

Yes, he is rank number 5 in WBO and rank number 6 in WBC according to https://www.boxingscene.com/rankings

He still has a long way to go and needs to have more fights before reaching the number one rank among the challengers. However, if Inoue wins, we might see an Inoue vs. Casimero matchup if Inoue decides to stay in the Super Bantamweight division for a while. Let's just hope he doesn't move up right away.

Whenever in Fútbol or boxing, even in any other sport, as I have said before, what he has to put in is a lot of brains, but here things can change when he not only puts in muscle and technique, the strategies in any sport are what will make us better than others, and intelligence will always be the prototype that will distinguish us all, as far as I am concerned, at least in boxing I like it better when a fight is not focused technically, because it seems boring, so don't take away the emotion from this.

I disagree, technical fighters are great to watch as long as they are not a match between two technical defensive boxer (this match will make its viewer fell asleep lol).  There are technical offensive boxer like Lomachenco and Pacquiao where they can adjust their boxing style according to the strategy of their opponent.   It is better to watch two technical aggressive boxer than just two aggressive boxer where two aggressive boxer often ends up like  street brawl.

Yeah, that's why many fans around the world really love Manny Pacquiao because of his aggressive style, and during his prime he is one of the best. As compare to Floyd though who is more technical and defensive fighter and there is a love-hate relationship between him and the fans alike.

Lara vs Wood had their final press conference and weigh-in. This should be a banger fight. Leigh Wood though, the underdog at 3:1.

While Jack Catterall is huge favorite against Darragh Foley, this might not go to distance.
