I am not quite certain why there are people who view Alberto Lopez is a good boxer. If Inoue fought him, we can be quite and very much certain that he will be sleeping on the stretcher before round 6 hehehehe. He does not have much head movement, his footwork is not very good and his punches are not very powerful. There are also headshaking articles written that Lopez has similar power to Prince Naseem Hamed. I reckon these article writers are very much similar to scam ICO shills that hype and trick many people to buy the token hehehehehehh.

When there are 4 or more champions per weight class, not every champion is going to be a future hall of famer. Lopez won the title in Josh Warrington’s backyard and defended it against Conlan in Belfast. He is at least good enough to beat some good UK fighters on their own turf.

The average Inoue opponent gets knocked out in less than 6. Inoue is clearly on a different level than everybody else in the sport and very few even stand a chance against him.

I have not seen the comparison to Naseem Hamed, but there is a lot of clickbait out there that is not worth paying attention to. Lopez is good enough to compete against the best in the division, outside of Inoue if he moves up, but with his reckless style, his championship reign was not going to last very long.

I am presently watching Luis Alberto Lopez vs. Angelo Leo for the world IBF featherweight division championship. The champion is Lopez from Mexico and anyone who is watching this can be quite certain that if Inoue can increase his weight for this division, he can certainly win against Lopez hehehe.

I predict that next year, Inoue will leave super bantamweight and begin unifying the championships of featherweight with the last fight of the unification against Brandon Figueroa in Las Vegas heheheheheh.

And we have a new IBF featherweight champion, Angelo Leo knocks the lights out of Alberto Lopez. Knockout of the year would you agree? Unfortunately, Lopez doesn't want to play defense and this cost his belt as that left hook really clip him for good. And he might might be the same again after this knockout, he has the talent but if you are fighting these kind of fighters, with power, you should at least put your hands up and not disrespect the power of your opponent.

Yeah, it was reported that Inoue will go up and so he will have to deal with this kind of fighters, bigger and more power and has chin and maybe this set of featherweight can hold and measure very well on Inoue's power. Hopefully, once Inoue goes up to 126 lbs, I want him to test himself against Leo here and see if he can pass this boxer with power, and hand speed and chin as well.

I have no problem with creating a thread like this, but for me, I want a dedicated discussion on a particular boxing match so we can dwell on the strength and weaknesses of each fighter and give hints or tips for those who like to bet on that particular fight, the flow of discussion will always be on-topic about one particular match.

You are absolutely right, I would like to start betting on boxing matches perhaps I might get lucky in it.. getting some tips and predictions here would be really helpful.. there are a lot of people who aren't really familiar with the strength of the fighters,  we would love a well detailed analytical prediction so we can start betting on it..

It's not an issue anymore as we also have some dedicated threads for specific fights. It's up to us to decide if we want to create one, but I've seen members who actively create threads once a fight is announced. We can consider this a general discussion thread, and I think it has served its purpose well.

Quote
I think boxing is quite better to bet on because they don't go on long breaks like  soccer games, waiting for a season to resume is very exhausting
That depends on the kind of sport you love. Personally, I love basketball more than boxing, but from time to time, I also bet on boxing. However, the excitement is much lower compared to when I'm betting on basketball, especially in the NBA.

Yeah, I love that idea, and as you have said, there are a lot of boxing fans here and although we have this dedicated thread, we sometimes see members creating a thread for a specific fight specially if it is big.

But if we wanted to talk everything about boxing, then we have this thread, or if there are fights that no one opens a specific thread, then we can all discussed it here. And if I'm not mistaken, even the boxing in the Olympics was somewhat discussed it although we have a dedicated thread for 2024 Summer Olympics thread. As for betting in boxing, yeah, but there are fights that ML is not that appealing to bet.

Lopez has had some very good wins and was looking like the guy who would get the opportunity against Inoue. Unfortunately, he has always been careless with his defense and tonight he got knocked out cold. That payday against Inoue has vanished and that is perhaps why he was in tears in his locker room after the fight.

With his style, I thought that he might give Inoue a problem if ever they fought. However, he is reckless against Angelo Leo, maybe he is too confident. However, he was caught with that great left hook and was knockout.

And this is what he said,

Featherweight is a stacked division. There are around a dozen fighters who would all be considered credible opponents for Inoue. If he can become undisputed, it will elevate his legacy even further. It will not be an easy task because these fighters have size and power that he is not used to.

Yes, that's why every boxing fans are excited to see Inoue jumping on this weight class next year as the caliber of boxers here are better as compare to lets say 118-122 lbs.

Quote
“I want to fight all the champions,” Leo said. “Whether it be Rafael Espinoza for a unification bout, Naoya Inoue – whoever it may be.”

So it's going to be interesting featherweight division for next year.

Same thoughts, Venado Lopez is good and he could give Inoue a great fight, however, that potential clash might be shelve as he was upset by Angelo Leo who I think is a great boxer as well but since this division is pretty much stacked up, he is just rated number 10 by the IBF and so he was given this fight and Lopez thought that it's going to be very easy for him.

Featherweight is a stacked division. There are around a dozen fighters who would all be considered credible opponents for Inoue. If he can become undisputed, it will elevate his legacy even further. It will not be an easy task because these fighters have size and power that he is not used to.

We will give Inoue his props even if he gets 2 belt in this weight class. Rey Vargas, Brandon Figueroa is going to be a nightmare fight for him as this two is very tall. And then others like Lopez, Leo and not that tall, but physically they are bigger than Inoue as this could be their natural weight class and they are very much comfortable at 126 lbs. And that's why what Pacquiao did, going up in weight won 8 divisions, skipping 2 divisions, (so there is a possibility than the can be 10 division champ) is hard to dupicate.

This could be KOTY and then the Ortiz vs Bohachuk FOTY in one card, that's crazy.

So I'm not surprised that as early as in his suspension, he is targeting Crawford as he is the man to beat at 147 lbs to 154 lbs. However, I do not think that Ryan has the skills to beat this version of Crawford. Even at his age, Crawford is still superior to 90% of the 147 lbs to 154 lbs.
I’d love to see him give it a shot. We were already surprised when he beat Haney, so I think he has a chance against Crawford. I'm sure Crawford would love to fight Garcia since he’s a fan favorite, which means big money for both of them as people will definitely tune in. The way Ryan talks and acts has probably helped boost his career and visibility, and I think in the boxing world, among real fans, everyone knows who he is by now, so let's bring this fight on.

Exactly, there could be boxing fans that might hate Ryan Garcia because he has caught with PEDS in his system. But there could be that can argue that it could have been tainted and he really don't know that. And the way he really beat Haney, we all know that Devin can't get over with that first lost of his career.

And again, he weight more than 140 lbs and for sure he can make the weight at 147 lbs or even 154 lbs. And I also think that Crawford can go down to welterweight if ever he is willing to face Ryan. And as Crawford is not getting any younger, last couple of fights for him should be money fight. Then we will see how Ryan is going to sell this fight, he really knows how to do that, be it in social media or what he is going to say against Crawford in face off or the kick off press conference.

On Bud Crawford's statement, similar to you I also agree. However, this might only be a trick from King Ry. He is only showing that he is not serious in social media but he is training for a knockout on his next opponent hehehe.

Bud though is not known to be very much involved in social media like Ryan, although from time to time he has responded to haters and bashers. But Ryan is on a different level as far as his social media accounts that sometimes he posted things that is absurd and then something that is personal.

Definitely, he will be looking for a knockout win every fight, I think that was his goal specially that he tasted that big knockout win against Haney. But we will have to wait, until his suspension is lift up, we really don't know what weight Ryan will be fighting, maybe he will go up to 147 - 154 lbs and challenge Crawford or any champions for that matter as this division is the centerpiece of boxing.

Crawford seldom answers anyone in his social media, and from what I observed, it's only boxers that he did respond in the past, those who are calling him out like Boots Ennis and Spence.

I do agree that when Ryan comes back, he might go as high as Super Welterweight, he is tall and very young and so his body is developing as it should be. So I'm not surprised that as early as in his suspension, he is targeting Crawford as he is the man to beat at 147 lbs to 154 lbs. On Haney's loss to King Ry, officially this has become a no contest because of King Ry's alleged use of ostarine. According to uncle Dana of the UFC, Ryan will not be found guilty if it was his legal team that represented Ryan. In the interview, uncle Dana was very much certain it was from contaminated supplements.

I'm not sure what the legal team of Dana will do though if they are the one who handle the case of Ryan Garcia. We don't know that names of them, but perhaps they have a lot of experience with this and representing UFC fighters caught with illegal substance in their body.

I am not quite certain why you want to put a stain on uncle Dana. What uncle Dana said was very much clear. He said his legal team certainly thinks the positive result on King Ry's test was because of tainted supplements. They are saying that King Ry did not cheat and his legal team has mishandled the case. If it was the UFC's legal team that helped King Ry, he would be innocent according to uncle Dana.

However, if Ryan cheated, why would uncle Dana's legal team represent a cheater?
I don't know, but perhaps the argument could boil down if Ryan really take the PEDS or not. And probably this is what Dana and his supposedly legal team might argue against the judge so that Ryan is not going to be banned. So the first thing that they have in mind is that Ryan did not cheat or take the drugs in his knowledge. And after that premised then they can go back and argue that Ryan and his team didn't know that the supplements he is taking is laden with this banned substance. But I guess the legal team of Ryan might have approach it different. Anyhow, the judgement has been handled and Ryan has been serving it already.

Yeah, that's might be something if Ryan's camp knew it that they are taking illegal supplement that's another side but it's been handle and I don't any changes after, they just need to move forward and continue their careers, if they got that chance to fight again then better to clear everything first to make sure incident like this won't happen again.

A good rematch with clean from anything will settle the real winner, I like the chance of this drama converted to another million dollar money making for both camps.

I think Daddy Dana White just wants to tell his opinion about the matter of Ryan Garcia being accused of using an illegal drug. Also, I think he knows Ryan and he also knows that he won't go that far to take a drug to make himself better.
He is pointing out those who are handling Ryan and they did a bad job at protecting him. There should've been a fight first before they will just let go of that win.

Speaking of Ryan Garcia, he is getting some heat against Terence Crawford after stirring up a lot of controversies against him.
Crawford didn't let it pass and struck back.

What type of friend are you? Anything that I do that’s gonna challenge me, anything negative, or lead me down the wrong path, there’s not one person in my camp right now that wouldn’t grab me and be like ‘Hey, why you doing that?’…
I agree with Crawford on this one. It seems like whoever are in his circle are not the right people for him to grow and be better. It will be a waste, he is still young.

I reckon that the most important lesson to get from this occurrence is King Ry did not cheat and he was telling the truth when he shared in social media that he did not use steroids. There were also many accusations from Devin Haney and his team, however, who was telling the truth and who was lying? This is very important to know despite if the judge has sentenced Ryan already.

In other news, here are the Ring Magazine's pound for pound list:

1️⃣🇺🇦 Oleksandr Usyk
2️⃣🇯🇵 Naoya Inoue
3️⃣🇺🇸 Terence Crawford
4️⃣🇲🇽 Canelo Alvarez
5️⃣🇺🇸 Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez
6️⃣🇷🇺 Artur Beterbiev
7️⃣🇷🇺 Dmitry Bivol
8️⃣🇺🇸 Gervonta Davis
9️⃣🇯🇵 Junto Nakatani
🔟🇺🇸 Devin Haney

https://x.com/MichaelBensonn/status/1818487108061085860

Do you agree on the list? Spence was out, then Haney getting in the list as rank 10th.

Jesse Bam Rodriguez has already surpassed Tank Davis at only 24 years old. It is very impressive what he has accomplished in his young career. Canelo still being in the top 5 is a bit generous. Canelo peaked when he became undisputed champion against Plant in 2021. Since then, it’s been a loss to Bivol and cherry picked opponents like Ryder, Charlo and a very old GGG. He gets credit for his accomplishments in the past, but he cannot live off that forever. I consider Bivol and Beterbiev to be better fighters at this moment but due to inactivity we have not seen their full potential.

I guess they still given preferential treatment to Canelo as this point in time. He had decline already and as you have said, cherry picking his fight after his lost to Bivol.  I like Bam Rodriguez and it seems to be that his could be the one to break the monopoly of Japanese fighters in the lower rank right now.

As for Haney, yes, he could not be in the top 10. But it seems that we have the weakest of the champions right now, they don't even include 140 lbs like Teo Lopez or even Pitbull Cruz to represent that weight class.

Canelo is more for the money, he's taking his time knowing that he's no longer on his prime so cherry picking his next opponents just to secure decent profits, though he still got that fame especialy from those who organize this kind of listing, but in terms of capabilities he might lose if he will take the challenge from a fighter who can compete the he did, after that fight against Bivol when he see that his tactics is no longer effective he just quitely observing and waiting for good offer with secure benefits.

Yes, that is very clear since he lost to Bivol, he should have lost to GGG though. But now since Canelo is getting old, for sure his adviser is telling him to carefully select an opponent that will not be a treat or very easy fight. Now fighting Berlanga next this September and most like he will be getting the bigger purse split again.

No denying though that even if Canelo is declining, still other boxer sees him as the cash cow and so they are willing to fight even if the purse split favors Canelo. After all if they upset him, it will be a good stepping stone for them just like what Bivol is right now.

And talking about Canelo, David Morrell, will also be moving up at 175 lbs to face Radivoje Kalajdzic on the pay-per-view undercard of Israil Madrimov vs. Terence Crawford. It another fighter at 168 lbs that Canelo doesn't want to fight.
