Ethereum may be able to beat the bitcoin, because ethereum is the strongest altcoin and the demand is also a lot too much, ethereum is also more stable in price.

If you think Bitcoin is stable you don't know anything about this business.

And Ethereum will never pass Bitcoin. I'm investor for both coins but there is no way we compare them. Think of it like Bitcoin is gold and Ethereum is petrol.

Fat chance! As I see how Ethereum can compete with bitcoin in terms of usability and scalability, it has good chance to go toe to toe with bitcoin in the future but seeing it's price for as long as I have been here in the forum, I can say that Ethereum's price is dependent on Bitcoin's along with any other cryptocurrencies in the market. So even though bitcoin is more volatile than Eth, it will still be a far-fetched for it to beat bitcoin.

Ethereum is one of the best altcoin in the market, it has huge capitalization, just after bitcoin. Ethereum has great potential and it is very stable, clear that future ethereum will grow strongly. However, to beat bitcoin, I think ethereum will need more time and more effort because bitcoin is still very strong and it is still the king of the crypto market.

It will never happen in the short time, Bitcoin is the market, when bitcoin goes down every other crypto go down cos everyone use the bitcoin market. Just look at the volume for confirmations

Both of them have different uses and are on different platform. Each of them has it's own issues. If bitcoin will continue to have a big issue on transaction traffic, most likely ethereum can replace it. However, ethereum still has a long way to go because a lot of people are into bitcoin.

I think the current Crypto market does not have any coin that can beat BTC and ETH. Two coins occupy the market today with high market capitalization. If any penny passes the price of BTC and ETH I will never participate in Crypto anymore.

Ethereum can be nearer to bitcoin in distance but not to surpass it. Both have huge potentials but we consider bitcoin as great player in crypto, it give dominance to the whole crypto market and really can make changes at all.

I do not think so.
I think Bitcoin will stay ahead of other altcoins.
We know that Bitcoin is the oldest coin of its emergence in 2009 by Satoshi Nakamoto.
Bitcoin greatly affects other altcoin values.
No exception Ethereum, Bitcoin remains the number one and Ethereum number 2.

Ethereum has a good growth but i think it will not beat btc At all. because the distance between them is far apart. Bitcoin have much higher volume & trust base than ethereum so no can beat the # 1 cryptocurrency .

Ethereum could someday defeat Bitcoin. Because seen from the development of Ethereum is also very rapid and the price is slowly rising steadily. But if I think this year stay for Bitcoin. I think not, by 2018 will remain a bitcoin year, and ethereum will never beat bitcoin by 2018. We prove to the end of 2018, and bitcoin will remain the first and ethereum still remains behind bitcoin.

after week of posting this,what happens to the price of ethereum?and as you can check the price today still millions of miles is the distance of bitcoin and ethereum so better not to expect this because this will never happen in the next 3 years..sorry for the term but i want you to realize something that you dont even give a glimpse..ethereum will be the second top coin today until 2020

Very impossible to happened by this time. With the large gap and difference of values between bitcoin and ethereum, it is definitely hard to ethereum to beat bitcoin actually. Historically bitcoin is always the King of all cryptocurrencies and ethereum comes next to it. This is what I usually observed in this cryptocurrencies world.

Certainly a BTC thing is kept just like in Asian countries where they buy stored gold, ETH will circulate the market for its advantage like cash for circulation.

I think the real question should be: When will ETH or other alt beat Bitcoin.
Ethereum offers a platform to run smartcontrats and i believe it has a more important usecase than BTC.
So when cryptos will become mainstream, Ethereum price will rise quicker than bitcoin's.
For sure this is not going to happen in the next 6 months but i have no doubt that is will happen.
