I have a ton of free token with no value, and some of it is just less than $5 and a waste of time to participate on airdrops with free token this time and I think most of it is a scam.

talking about free, I got 232 JUST powh.io yesterday. The site takes me to P3D tokens which don't have a nice reputation as of now. And with 1 ETH, you can buy around 71 p3d tokens. I am wondering whats is this free 232 token all about? Any idea

Hi everybody,
Lately I am reading a lot of posts asking: is this airdrop a scam? Is that free ICO a scam?
So I am wondering how can something that doesn't cost you a penny be a scam. Sure, they get your email adress and maybe a ETH Adress, but how can you  really be scamed with only this informations? I am not talking about airdrops that require kyc registration, that for sure can be dangerous.
Cheers,

I think its 50/50 but 100% it will waste your time, this is because there are really some sites that offers free coins but still you need to pay back them thru referrals and i hate doing it. Simply because we really don't know if the site is a scam that if we refer them to our friends then our friend might be in trouble and may blame us in the end then even if these free sites are 100% legit but the value that they will give to us is very small in which not worth of our wasted time for them.

An airdrop gives free coins or tokens, but before they give it to you, you will be required to do something like registering to their sites. If you have done all their requirements and still not receiving free coins or just receiving shitcoins, that is when it can be called a scam.

Free ICO? there is not Free ICO you should say, free coin or tokens means they need community and attract the investors , also many free tokens doesnt have any programs or project in plan , they just need a markets , after that maybe they think about the project later , first the focus need a market , second they need money too Smiley
If scammers want to develop their ico project, then it seems to me that they are using their money to get a lot more. We know how many ico projects are collected and there is such an opportunity for scammers.

Everything can be a scam. Even if it not for free.. Just watch the most ICOs that we back in 2017... The most projects just scammed their people and run away with all their money.
still a scam in the ico company was quite a lot. but I thought that this practice practically changed, but it turned out not so. I would like to cite the Sandro project as an example, which collected a hard cap, and eventually the developers left with the investors' money.
Most of the airdrops are scam and they are free, also most of the faucets, so don't bother to invest your time to them unless you are sure about the airdrops that you are spending your time at, so better to know first the airdrops that we are joining at so that we cannot be victimized.

In fact, the fraud may be that those who conduct the airdrops in fact, just need your email address. They want to collect a database of cryptocurrency users.

Marinecoin is having a good airdrop if you want to check them out.  20,000 MTC for completing AI assigned promotional task.  MTC uses time dilution technology to distribute their coin.  How much you earn is up to you and the amount of effort you want to put into it.  Lasting value has been coded into the blockchain for the long term success of the project. Here are some attributes of MTC dev-less - time dilution technology - value - community - time tested blockchain experience.  Read more  marineco.in

Cheers,

so according to you we can be scammed only by stealing our money .

those airdrops just do post fake airdrop and project for following reason -
for donation for airdrop
for increasing twitter and telegram followers
after launch of project core team pump the token price and dump team tokens ..
taking personal data and misuse of it in future .

so these are ex why they do it .

Yes, thing that is free can be a scam. For example, there might be virus or malware in the wallet you download to receive the free coins.

If it is given away for free in large amounts, do not put suspicions in it? If only a few, of course, reasonable but if large amounts are certainly very needed to look out for, logically they will not receive anything except the only data we have and to be said is simply a scam.

In the airdrop there is an interest among those who conduct it. This promotes the advertising of the coin, which is distributed

Airdrops are not what they used to.  I got a few FREE alts from airdrops last year and they were goooood!  Unfortunately,  the 1st quarter of 2018 has ended and I haven't got any good airdrops.

Just for your information some of big scams was an Airdrop I can give you one example for that EtherDark , It started as Airdrop and ended up as huge scam . You call it free airdrop but in reality those free airdrop get listed on an exchange such as Etherdelta back then and suddenly this free airdrop started to worth real money . And once that happened Deva started to dump his coins on the head of people who thought that his project is legit and he made millions of dollars and just disappear  . There is another example an Ann thread that I just reported couple days ago they had there team fake and in there defense they are saying they did not ask for money ! . I am sure that if I did not report it it would end up scam people for money or else why they use fake pictures and names for there team ! . I can give you endless examples but I think the above is enough to give you the idea for why something free can easily be scam  .

Perhaps in this case, people mean that the airdrop campaign is not working, or is closing, or something else
