Since then, the results have been very quick.
No more slacking and waiting for the last day (and beating fillippone is a big incentive). Grin

The month of December in general for the forum was even better than November. This is very interesting, remembering that December is always a month where people tend to be very busy.
Yep, I was surprised to see such an increase as I expected the opposite due exactly that reason-holidays. But for whatevr reason people were active, and in some boards like mine, more active than in a long time.

Now, we look forward to the annual results for 2024.
That one should be out next week.  Wink

Since this month I have to make 4 overviews (2 here and 2 in my local board), its best to start early so here it is, one more brief monthly overview of the local boards activity). As always, all charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space, whihc you can check if you want more in depth overview of your local board.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bangladesh) unfortunately still don't have their own local boards. I hope that is something that will change this yea since it didn't happen in the previous one.

Post activity per local board during December 2024

During December, 13997 posts were made across local boards, which is an increaase compared to November's numbers (13572). Increase is not big, but is significant as it was during holiday period when people are usually busy with more important things, so hopefully this is a sign that January is going to be even better.

Once again Russian has been by far the most active one, followed by German that managed to climb to 2nd spot (up from 3rd) while Nigerian was 3rd (up from 5th). Turkish was not far behind at 4th (down from 2nd) and top 5 ends with Indonesian board that kept its 5th spot from November. Regarding the gainers/losers, the only local board that sticks out is Croatian board that manage to double the post amount compared to month ago, thanks mostly to few of our members finally coming back after being afk for some time.

Active members per local board during December 2024

During the last month 1395 members of this forum wrote at least one post in one of the local boards which is an increase compared to November (1332). Increase is not a surprise given the more posts written, as seen in the previous chart and let's hope it continues in months to come.

Local board members per amount of posts during December 2024

When it comes to the members who wrote only 1 post, leader is Romanian board with 78% (7/9 members), followed by Greek (67%) and Polish (64%) local boards. At the same time, Pakistan had only 6% of such members, followed by Nigerian (15%) and Indonesian (22%) local boards.

In the 2-9 posts bracket leader is German with 53% of such members, followed closely by Nigerian (52%) and Pakistan (50%) locals. In the same bracket, Polish and Romanian had no such members, while Portuguese had 18%.

Regarding the 10+ posts bracket, Croatian local board had the highest percentage of such members (48%), while Portuguese (46%) and Pakistan (44%) were not that far behind. In the same bracket, Greek had only 8 of those members (1 member actually), followed by India(9%) and French (10%) local boards.

Merit shared per local board during December 2024

During above mentioned period 8088 merit was sent across 18 local boards which is a huge increase compared to November (6116). Majorify of this big increase (approximately 33%) is due increase in Nigerian (from 611 in November) and Russian (1431 in November) local boards, while thankfully German managed to retain their November's numbers resulting in this.

Unfortunately, many of the boards with low merit didn't have much (if any) increase and hopefully that will change once theymos decides its time for a merit readjustment.

Merit/Post ratio per local board during December 2024

Given the such a huge increase in merit shared while post number went only slightly, its no surprise that an average merit/post went up a lot, from 0.45 in November to 0.58 in December.

After a huge increase during November, German board went even further and they had the highest merit/post ratio, which is not so common for such an active local board. Romanian is at the 2nd spot as usual and this time we have another surprise at a very high 3rd sport, Bengali community that doesn't have their local board as of yet. Unfortunately, Pilipinas board sticks out again at the other end with only 0.14 merit/post during last month.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during December 2024

During December, 467 members sent while 578 members received merit which is interestingly a bit smaller than Novermber's numbers (491/587), despite the 1/3 merit shared increase.

Percentage of merited posts across local boards during December 2024

Once again Romanian local board had the highest percentage of merited post, but this time not as high as in November (51%), while Spanish went up to 2nd spot with 30% (up from 23% during November) and German local having 30% (up from 23%). No need to even mention who is at the bottom of this chart as well.

Merit per transaction across local boards during December 2024

An average merit per transaction across local board has been a little bit lower than in November (1.89, down from 2) and no surprise that mostly local boards with high merit/post ratio are at the top of this chart.

The most active members per local board during December 2024

And for the end of this month's overview, list of the most active members per local board. Once again Bits.media from Russian local has been the most active one with 287 posts, followed by one more member of the Russian board, Julien_Olynpic who wrote 171 post while at the 3rd spot we have joker_josue from Portuguese board who wrote 168 posts. GG guys, keep it up!

Interesting way to keep tabs on the happenings around in the forum, it must have been a very exhausting work but, you’ve been able to create a routine that enables you at OP, come up with the stats for just every local board on the forum in an easy, colorful and readable form.
Nah, its not that hard, especially not after 4 years of going it. Afterall, DdmrDdmr and TryNinja did most of the work, I just presented it via charts.

Spoiler alert: in December review, you will find something similar!
I didn't know about the November merit spree, but I do know about the December one since I was also a "casualty" of it. Grin

There is just a simple Answer to that fillippone.
<…>
Hope that explain it all.

My little investigation had a lot about having fun with the tools in the forum, and much less on investigating individual behaviour.
Now that you explained ned to me what happened, I just hope that qwk will find time to be active in the forum again, as I am always sad when someone is less active, but of course I won’t ever question any of his choices!

<<..>
I don't know what hapepned last month in German board, but their number went up 300% compared to October (from 350 to 1400) and they mostly responsible to this big overall increase of the number of merit shared.
750 of those merits were sent by qwk:
There is just a simple Answer to that fillippone.
qwk was inactive for a lot of month and as an merit source he had saved up a few merits over this month of inactivity.
Also 1miau was not realy active.

I got in touch with qwk and asked whats going on and stuff because we was discussed already in the German Board about the missing Merit Sources.
So i guess its in some way my fault that qwk was dropping at some stage a lot of Merits at a day or week , thats i guess the reason where are the numbers coming from.
Hope that explain it all.

The Naija & BSFL Sherrif 📛
It's obvious last month was actually competitive in terms of local board post race, because i'm really surprised to see my local board come 5th last month with a total post of 1255 posts, which seems to be the 3rd lowest post we have made this entire year after August and September. As this shows a slight decline in our activeness and the activeness of the other local boards, which is fine and healthy for a competition such as this.
Maybe that strict sheriff of yours has something to do with it.  Cheesy

October total posts 1088, November total posts *1255, we did better than the previous month, we only lost our position because other local boards did better than us. I had one of the least mod actions compared to the other local board mods last month.. maybe i have nothing to do with it after all.  Grin

I'm more interested in merit per post ratio & total Smerits sent, I know merit per posts ratio is going to decrease due to the two active merit threads I created since I prefer to send merits to applications on those threads.

Thanks for the update Rikafip!!

Here is the updated Race
Overview has been updated, cheers!

I just wonder why most of the bigger countries are not posting as much, but it most probably have its explanation.
Bitcoiners and crypto enthusiasts in general from those countries are simply using some other platforms for communication, which we don't lack in recent years.

I think next month is going to be even better, with more comebacks after bitcoin reached new ATH.
Yep, if we continue like this, next overview will be by far our best in recent time.

Hope I didn't bother local members too much with posts.
Keep them coming, we needed some "fresh" blood!

And as such, I will like to use this medium to motivate my fellow Nigerians, to not give up as we strive again this month of December 2024, just as we did in January to emerge second place on this race, since it's obvious, we can't win the Russian local board, despite struggling with the Turkish monthly recently😃😃

However, Here Is A Statistics Of The Nigerian Local Board Total Post Race For The Year 2024

In January 2024, Naija Local board made 3255, and we came 2nd
In February 2024, Naija Local board made 2368, and we came 3rd
In March 2024, Naija Local board made 2833, and we came 3rd
In April 2024, Naija Local board made 2496, and we came 2nd
In May 2024, Naija Local board made 2288, and we came 3rd
In June 2024, Naija Local board made 1748, and we came 3rd
In July 2024, Naija Local board made 1429, and we came 2nd
In August 2024, Naija Local board made 1088 and we came 6th
In September 2024, Naija Local board made 1200, and we came 2nd
In October 2024, Naija Local board made 1464, and we came 3rd
In November 2024, Naija Local board made 1255 total post, and we came 5th

Time for yet another brief monthly overview of the local boards activity, but this time a little bit ealrier than usual.
Thanks for taking time to create another report Wink
Great to see our old local member ovcijisir coming back to life and taking the crown of most active member in previous month.

I'm glad to be back, I was dormant for a while, but was really surprised that I am in a first place this month. Hope I didn't bother local members too much with posts.

With new ATH I hope I will not be the only one to come out of winter sleep on our local board Cheesy

Just one visit to the Russian local board and you will see how big it is in comparison to our Croatian local board, for example. The Russian local has over 10 sub-boards and some of those have their own child boards. Considering the size of the country and how popular the language is, not just in Russia, but in many neighboring countries, I am not surprised by the numbers. Not today and not in the past. Bitcoin and crypto have surely gained even more traction in Russia following the global sanctions against the country.

It makes sense. It makes sense.

In addition to crypto matters, certainly due to the sanctions, they should be able to gain access to other external information via the forum, which they might otherwise have difficulty obtaining.

Thanks for another chart, Rikafip.
But you are faster than before. Keep up your good work, brother.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards. Since its Christmas time, maybe theymos/Cyrus finally (whoever is in charge) add at least one more local board, like he did for Nigerians 2 years ago.

It looks like my community decided to give up. If you look at the last three months' stats of our local thread, its performance has been declining every month. I had a chat with a couple of members of our local thread whom I suspected of doing abuse, and now most of them do not come to our local thread anymore. That is what happened a year ago, and now, once again, the same thing. If I keep talking against the abusers, they stay away from our local thread. LOL.

Well, the Russian tab has more than twice as much (much more) than the second place.
When I started making these overviews difference between Russian and 2nd most active was much bigger, so this is nothing new.

He asked me if the topics of conversation are about Bitcoin or are more focused on other subjects.
I am not sure that I understand this part. Who asked you that?

With this I'm not saying it's something bad, just curious about the topics spoken.
I guess they talk about the pretty much the same stuff as in other local boards. Its just that they are much bigger than the others. You can always head over to their loacl and use translator to get the idea what's going on there.
