Time for yet another brief monthly overview of the local boards activity, but this time a little bit ealrier than usual. Chart fans should think of it as an early Christmas present.  Cheesy All charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space.Thanks guys for your awesome tools!

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards. Since its Christmas time, maybe theymos/Cyrus finally (whoever is in charge) add at least one more local board, like he did for Nigerians 2 years ago.

Post activity per local board during November 2024

During the last month, 13572 posts were written across 18 local boards which is almost as same during October (13581). Consdering the situation on the market I expected increase, but it is what it is.

Russian local board has naturally been by far the most active one, with Turkish remaining at the 2nd spot. After some time German managed to reach 3rd spot, Portuguese climbed up to 4th while Nigerian dropped from 3rd during October to 5th.

Regarding the bottom part of the chart, its pretty much the same as month before: Greek, Polish, Romanian, Indian and this time Bengali joined them, which is not good as they are still trying to get their own local board and decrease certainly won't help them.

Local Board post race

Active members per local board during November 2024

1332 forum members wrote at least one post on one of the local boards, which is a solid increase compared to month before (1292), especially considering the fact that number of posts remained pretty much the same.

Russian local board is leader here as well, with 429 active members, followed by Nigerian and German local boards, while the usual names at the bottom (Greek, Romanian and Polish) had very similar numbers compared to month before. With Bitcoin reaching new ATH, hopefully situation improves in the next monthly overview.

Local board members per amount of posts during November 2024

When it comes to the members who wrote only 1 post, Greek is the leader with exactly 50% such members, followed by German (39%) and Indian (33%) local boards. At the same time, Pilipinas only had 16%, followed by Pakistan (17%) and Portuguese (18%) local boards, while Romanian and Polish didn't have members who wrote only 1 post during November.

In the 2-9 posts bracket leader is Bengali who had 63% of such members active in their local, followed by French (55%) and Pilipinas (54%) locals. In that bracket, Pakistan had the lowest pervcetage of such members (33%). followed by Italian (36%) and Turkish (37%) local boards.

In the 10+ posts bracket, leaders are Polish and Romanian boards with 57% of those members, followed by Pakistan at 50%. In the same bracket, Bengali had only 10% of suich members, followed by Indian and French local boards that both had 17% of those members.

Merit shared per local board during November 2024

When it comes to merit shared in the above mentioned period, situation looks much better than before, at least looking from total number of merit shared perspective. During November 6116 merit was shared across 18 locals, which is a big increase compared to October (5207).

Once again leader is Russian local with 1431 merit, but this time German board came very close to them with their 1400 merit while Nigerian was left far behind at the 3rd spot. I don't know what hapepned last month in German board, but their number went up 300% compared to October (from 350 to 1400) and they mostly responsible to this big overall increase of the number of merit shared.

Merit/Post ratio per local board during November 2024

The merit per post average for all local boards during November was 0.45 which is an (expected) increase compared to October's 0.38.

After being 2nd last month, this time Romanian is at the top with very high 1.4 merit per post, followed by Arabic and German locals, while on the bottom we have Pilipinas with a very low 0.09 merit per post and Portuguese with 0.15 ain't much better either.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during November 2024

In the above mentioned period 491 members sent merit while 587 received which is an increase compared to October (456/502). Since number of merit shared went up by ~17%, this increase expected.

Percentage of merited posts across local boards during November 2024

After the October's very high 45%, Romanian board managed to even higher percebtage of merited post in November, 67%. To have such a high percentage, boards usually have to be less active, and Romanian is exactly that with 46 posts written in that time period. Nevertheless, kudos to you! At the same time, Pilipinas board had only ~6% of merited posts which is probably on par with Off Topic and similar low quality parts of the forum.

Merit per transaction across local boards during November 2024

An average merit per trasnaction across local boards (excluding Pakistan and Bengali as I don't have that data for them) during November has been exactly 2 and is an increase compared to October's 1.7. Considering their huge 300% increase of merit shared, no wonder that German board dominates this chart, followed by Spanish and Arabic boards that traditionally have high merit per tx.

The most active members per local board during November 2024

Last but not the least, top 10 most active members per local board. Bits.media from Russian local is once again the most active one with 240 posts, Portiguese member joker_josue is 2nd with 205 posts while another Russian member Julien_Olynpic is at the 3rd with 170 posts. Gg guys.

Forum activity has not had any significant changes,
My local board is a little bit more active lately so I hope those are little signs that other local boards (and forum in general) will have increase as well.

Also, we have to take into account that these numbers are from October, and Bitcoin's peak was in November.
Perhaps the November numbers show things a little differently.

Negative note: maybe it's a little early in the cycle, as forum activity didn't pick up as expected!
The best is yet to come so I think there's still time to see some old names back and hopefully some new ones as well.

It really seems like it was a very different cycle from the others.
Forum activity has not had any significant changes, as is usually the case. Not even transaction fees had an unusual increase, as is also normally the case.

So, we are facing a new version of the cycle.

Thank you @Rikafip, for this work.
I am going to add your graph for my review.
You already made one? How did I miss that? Meh, I was happy that I finally beat you, just to find out I wasn't even close. Tongue

Positive note: The Italian board is ranking up the ladder, and as you correctly stated, we are back where we belong—where we failed to sit for a long time!
I remmber the times when Croatian board was not far away from yours (some months even beating you, iirc)  and look at the difference now. Kudos to you guys for keeping it alive and kicking!

Its a last day of the month, so I guess its about time to publish yet another (not so brief anymore) monthly overview of the local boards activity. As in the previous ones, all charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards as of yet, which I hope is soemthing that will change in the near future.

Post activity per local board during October 2024

During November, 13581 posts were written across 18 local boards, which is almost the same amount as month before (13566). To be honest, I kinda expected a better result considering summer is behind us and market looks pretty good, but at least we didn't have a decrease. And who knows, maybe November turns out to be better.

Regarding the most active boards no change at the top; Russian is still by far the most active local board, followed by Turkish and Nigerian boards and big surprise is Italian board at the 4th spot and I don't remember seeing them so high lately.

Unfortunately, traditionally the least active locals have been even less active during October than in September so hopefully that changes in the next overview (which I hope will be published much sooner than this one).

Active members per local board during October 2024

During the last month, 1292 members wrote at least one post in one of the local boards which is a (very) slight increase compared with September's numbers (1281) and is a consistent with a very small increase in the amount of posts.

Like in all previous months, Russian has by far the most active members, followed by Nigerian and German local boards. The latter one had a huge increase compared to September, from 106 to 146 which is not something that you see often in this chart.

Pretty much the same thing at the bottom, usual suspects with mostly decreased number of active members.

Local board members per amount of posts during October 2024

When it comes to the members who wrote only 1 post, its pretty obvious that Greek is the leader there with 100% of the active members writing only one post each, followed by Indian (52%) and Spanish (51%) local boards. At the same time, Pakistan has the lowest percentage of such members (7%), followed by Nigerian (15%) and  Indonesian (19%) local boards.

In the 2-9 posts bracket leader isNigerian local board with 53%, followed by Russian and Pakistan with both having 52% of such members. In the same bracket, (beside Greek local) Portuguese has the lowest percentage (20%), followed by Turkish (30%) and Italian (32%) local boards.

Regarding the 10+ posts bracket, Portuguese local board is the leader with 44% of such members, followed by Italian (42%) and Pakistan (40%) local boards. When it comes to locals with lowest percentage of such members (again not counting Greek), Polish is yet again there with 11%, followed by Indian (12%) and French (15%) local boards.

Merit shared per local board during October 2024

During the October, 5207 merit was sent across local boards that are part of this overview and is a noticeable drop compared to September's number (5207). I did notice the overall decrease in the amount of merit shared in the last few months across the forum in general so it makes sense that local boards are affected by it as well.

Once again Russian is by far the most merited board, which is logical as they are much more active than the rest, followed by Turkish, Nigerian and Italian locals. Indonesian board used to be there among the top ones, but for whatever reason their merit numbers dropped by almost the half (from 654 to 364). At the same time Spanish local had a big increase, from 138 merits sahred in September to 262 in October so kudos to them!

Once again the usual names are at the bottom, while Greek board is missing because during October they sent no merit which is not a sururpise considering they wrote only 6 posts in that period.

Merit/Post ratio per local board during October 2024

The merit per post average for all local boards during October was 0.38 which is a decrease compared to month before (0.42). Drop is not a surprise as the number of posts remained pretty much the same while merit shared dropped by apprroximatelly 10%.

This month we have a change at the top: Spanish board has the highest merit/post ratio, followed by Romanian and (surprisingly high) Bengali locals, while at the same time Indian had the measly 0.07 which is comparable with Off Topic section.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during October 2024

During the above mentioned period, 456 members active on local boards sent merit while 502 received, which is an expected decrease compared to September's numbers (465/540) due lower amount of merit shared.

Percentage of merited posts across local boards during October 2024

In September no local board was sticking out when it comes to percentage of merited posts, but this time Romanian local is guilty of that with a very high 45% of the post that got merited. Having said that, they have somewhat lower amount of posts written (60) which makes is much easier to have such a high percentage, while at the ame time Indian is at the bottom with only ~7% of merited posts.

Merit per transaction across local boards during October 2024

An average merit per tx during October was 1.69 which is coincidentally exactly the same as in the month before, but this time Spanish board being at the top with almost 3 merits sent per each transaction, while in the same time in the Indian board they only sent 1 merit in each transaction.

The most active members per local board during October 2024

And for the end of October's brief monthly overview, list of the top ten most active member per local board. Once again we have a member from Russian local board at the top, Bits.media, who wrote 231 post, followed by Turkish member mandown with 213 posts and at the 3rd spot Portuguese member joker_josue who wrote 203 posts. Good job guys, keep it up!

Well, I believe that for the majority of Russians, even those who don't frequent bitcointalk, they are already very used to having to use Tor and VPN for their online activities.

That is a good practice. Probably because they have a lot of restrictions. I have heard that China has a lot of restrictions as well. I was watching a travel vlog a few weeks ago, the vlogger was having a hard time finding his hotels in China because people do not speak English and his Google map was not working. He had a couple of VPNs installed in his devices which were not working as well.

Let's get back to the main topic, If the majority of Russians are already used to using VPNs and Tor, then I don't think we have to worry about their activity. They will utilize those tools to access the forum when they notice they cannot access it with clear internet.

That's indeed weird. Would be interesting to hear some members from Russia how are things actually working now regarding that.
I always thought BitcoinTalk was banned in Russia. I don't know the current situation, but I guess I have seen something like a year ago or so that people from Russia cannot access BitcoinTalk without using a VPN. Probably they unbanned it later and now banned it again. I guess most Russian users use TOR to access the forum.

Well, I believe that for the majority of Russians, even those who don't frequent bitcointalk, they are already very used to having to use Tor and VPN for their online activities.

Unfortunately, it won't just be because of Bitcoin or casino ad.

Thanks for the stats Rikafip.
When you will work on next month's stats, you will notice the activity of my local thread drastically decreased. Once again, It is Learn Bitcoin to blame. I just quoted my one-year-old post and then there was silence! I talked to some of them. I hope they will stop doing what they were doing.

It was because of moderation.
You know what they say, be careful what you wish for.  Grin

Maybe its for the better than we didn't get a new mod in Croatian local board after Lauda stepped down.

But when I use a VPN and set it to Russia IP just now, I was still able to access this forum. I do not know how that should be possible.

I am not a newbie. In fact, you can see that my merit received on my general boards posts are many. I am only implying that quality is very important, not only newbies. Also focusing so much on newbies is kind of suspicious.

I didn't skip any of your posts on purpose and I barely see you on threads I post on. This discussion is sounding like merit begging and it's off-topic. I'm out of Rikafip space. Sorry Rik!

By the way, since you are very active in your local board, how come Nigerian post numbers dropped so much? I mean, they are still pretty good but at the beggining of the year you had 3k+ posts in a month, and now its down to littlem bit over 1k. What hapened exactly?
It was because of moderation. I got some of my posts deleted, although were old posts. Some other people will experience that and decide to reduce their posting activities. Also at start of his moderation, there were some new posts that were unnecessarily deleted but now it is better.

They banned it years ago and if I remember it correctly, it was something about gambling advertisment that is going on here. So now all Russian members have to use VPN in order to access bitcointalk. Considering that, their numbers are pretty impressive.
This is true: Bitcointalk has been blocked in Russia because of Gambling advertisement

But when I use a VPN and set it to Russia IP just now, I was still able to access this forum. I do not know how that should be possible.

Submit your application [Request] Report Unmerited Good Posts Here However, there are good chances. I might not see it before my next source goes out because I'm around 6-7 pages into that thread, and please remember to read the OP rules. We had this conversation before; I'm not sure why we're having it now. The mission has been to devote 98% of my sources to -1000 merits profiles and newbies in order to encourage them to stay active. Most of my smerits (not source) go to high-ranking profiles.

Is that the reason I was unable to receive just 1 merit from you on monthly basis? Hmmnnn!

I am always surprised that despite the significant reduction of my posting on Nigeria local board, I am still the highest monthly poster. Only what Igebotz could post was that I am posting on the local board to let people to notice me and to fulfill my signature weekly posts requirement. He also started lying about me.

We need 2-3 more source - channel the energy there.

That's Igebotz.  Cheesy
Lucky for him he doesn't play BSFL - we do the talking on the pitch.

Nigerian local board is on the right path, my source aren't enough
Your merit per post ratio is pretty decent already, but no reason not to be even higher if you don't have much spam and if you have many members that are still climbing the rank. In my local board, latter is the problem.

He also started lying about me.

Has the Russian government banned access to the bitcointalk forum? Huh
What was the invented reason this time?

Once again Russian board has been by far the most active one, despite the ban and need to use VPN in order to access bitcointalk, while Turkish board kept their 2nd spot, with Nigerian board climging up to the 3rd sport (up from 5th) while on the bottom we have the usual suspects; Polish, Indian and Greek local boards (Romanian board is usually there too, but this time they were more active).

Its unusal to see joker_josue out of top 3, so let's see if he makes it back next month (even though he still wrote very respectable 200 posts).

I was on vacation. Despite not having been away from the forum, I had less time available.

Although October is better, activity in the Portuguese tab is a little low, which makes it less active. But there are still a few days left until the end, we'll see what happens.

@Rikafip, you always have a nice stat about local boards. It is good we always have you on this forum.

Nigerian local board is on the right path, my source aren't enough, the X number of posts are way more than my X number of generated source. There are too many good profiles still lacking merits, I tried as much as possible to cover at least 60-70% monthly.  Thanks Rikafip
