@Rikafip, thanks for the update this is what I have been waiting for a while to find the current status of Indian local board since merit source announced that he withdrew from his position and there's no surprise the numbers went quite low. Indian board started to rise from bottom since last year June but now back to where it's started.

Time for yet another brief monthly overview of the local board activity, and this time few days earlier than usual. Charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space which I suggest to check if you want more in depth overview of your (or any other) local board.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards, with the hope that changes in the future.

Post activity per local board during March 2024

During the previous month, 20804 posts were made across 18 local boards/communities that are part of this overview, which is a decent increase (~8%) compared to the month before. The Russian board remained the most active one despite the decrease, while a few other very active boards like Turkish and Nigerian had an increase, which then resulted in a somewhat higher number of posts overall.

Unfortunately, the numbers for the Romanian, Greek, and Polish boards remained pretty similar to the previous months, while the Bengali numbers also keep going down month after month. I do hope they reverse this trend as it will get harder for them to get local board if numbers keep going down.

Local boards post race

Active members per local board during March 2024

In the last month, 1553 members wrote at least 1 post in one of the local boards, which makes it an increase compared to February numbers (~5%). Increase makes sense, as there was an increase in the amount of posts as well. As with posts, Russian board has by far the most active members, but Nigerian, Indonesian and German numbers are pretty good as well. On the bottom, we have the same names as in posts chart and I don't see this changing anytime soon.

Local board members per amount of posts during March 2024

When it comes to the members who wrote only 1 post, Indian board is leader, with 52% of such members, followed by Romanian (46%) and Spanish (45%). At the same time, Portuguese had only 16% of such members, followed by Pakistan and Croatian local boards that both had 17%.

In the 2-9 posts bracket, Polish and Greek boards are leader with exactly 50% of those members, followed by Russian local board that had 44%. When it comes to the lowest percentage in that bracket, Pakistan is leader with 23%, followed by Indian (31%) and Arabic (32%) local boards.

Regarding the 10+ posts bracket, Pakistan is leader with a huge 60%, followed by Indonesian (44%) and Portuguese (42%) local boards. At the same time, Benagli had only 16% of such members, while Polish and Indian local boards at 17% are not much better either.

Merit shared per local board during March 2024

When I saw the increase in the number of posts, I hoped the same thing happened with merit as well, and indeed it did; during March, 7058 merits were shared across local boards that are part of the overview, which is a very noticeable ~14% increase compared to February's numbers (6180). This happened mainly due to an increase in the Russian, German, and Spanish local boards. I am especially surprised by the former numbers as they lost one of the big merit sources some time ago, but I guess they got a replacement.

At the bottom, it's occupied by the usual suspects, with the Greek board appearing again on this chart. In the previous month, they didn't share any merit at all, so you can say that they had a 100% increase. Cheesy"

Merit/Post ratio per local board during March 2024

Once again Spanish local board is at the top of the merit/post chart, ands this time with even bigger ratio, followed once again by Arabic board while French end up at (for them) unusually high 3rd spot. With only 1 merit shared, no wonder that Greek board is dead last, while Pilipinas is once again close to the bottom with also pretty low merit/post ratio.

One thing that is noticeable is that majority of boards have higher 12 monnth ratio than of the last month which is a not a good sign imho, and its been like that for some time now.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during March 2024

Since there was a pretty big increase in the amount of merit shared, no wonder that same thing happened with number of merit senders and receivers; during March 525 sent merit while 629 received which is an increase compared to February numbers (503/566).

One thing that is interesting on this chart is that Russian board is not the leader when it comes to merit senders despite sending x3-x4 more merit than sone of the local boards like Nigerian and Indonesian that beat them in that metric.

Percentage of merited posts across local boards during March 2024

Last month's average across 18 local boards was 17.1% of posts that received merit, which is very similar to the period before (17.3%). Once again, the Spanish local board has the highest percentage of merited posts, with the Romanian board once again in second place, and this time, the Arabic board ends up in the top 3 with a pretty high 30%.

Considering the fact that only 1 post in the Greek local board received merit, it's no wonder that they are dead last in this metric as well. However, Indian, Pilipinas (and even Turkish) are not much better either

Merit per transaction across local boards during March 2024

And the last in this series of charts, merit per transaction. Despite having a pretty low merit/post ratio and generally low amount of merited posts, Indian local board is the leader in this category with very high 2.5 merit per transaction, leaving Spanish and French local boards behind that both had 2.3 merit per transaction.

The most active members per local board during March 2024

Last but not the least, list of top 10 most active members across 18 local boards, that are most responsible for keeping their boards alive. Once again mandown from Turkish local board is the most active local members, and this time followed by 2 more members of the same board while the name we used to see at the top (joker_josue) this time ended as 4th most active local board members. Kudos guys and keep up!

I think there's a small error in the image for the "Merit shared per local board during February 2024", where the header says: "Merit shared per amount of post", but it clearly shows the total amount of merits sent during the month.
You are right, thanks for noticing and it has been fixed now.

This is what happens when I hurry and publish these overviews early and I blame @fillippone for this as he keeps pushing me with publishing his overview way too early.  Grin

Here is my update!

Not a big thing, just thought I'd flag that up.

I'm very happy with third place. At the time, I thought I wouldn't be in the TOP3.  Cool
You should be satisfied, as consistently having your numbers on the board of your size is not that easy. I can only imagine how many posts would you make if your local was the size of Russian or Turkish as it makes it much easier to post when you have hundreds of active members instead of few dozens like it is now in Portuguese board.

Anyway, let's see what happens next month.  Grin

And for the end of the overview, list of all the top 10 most active members per local board. This time mandown from Turkish local board was rthe most active one with 243 posts, The0ldl_lser from Russian board was 2nd with 22 posts while joker_josue from Portuguese local board had to satisfy with 3rd spot and 211 posts. Keep it up!

I'm very happy with third place. At the time, I thought I wouldn't be in the TOP3.  Cool
It was a slightly atypical month, because in addition to less post movement on the Portuguese tab, I was a little more absent.

Furthermore, I'm at a loss, with some graphs that I used to share, and that I haven't done.  Lips sealed
I'll have to see if I can find some time to update the graphics.

Congratulations @Rikafip for this excellent information, which you share with the community.  Wink

Charts lovers rejoice, its time for yet another (not so) brief (anymore) monthly overview of the local boards activity. All charts and table are made using data from @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space.Thanks guys for your awesome tools!

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bengali) don't have their own local boards as of yet but that's something that I hope it will change in the near future.

Post activity per local board during February 2024

During February, 19216 were written across 18 local boards which is a drop compared to month before (21413). No change at the top as Russian board remained the most active but there is a change at 2nd position which Turkish board took over Nigerian. Unfortunately, that change happened because of the big drop of activity in Nigerian section rather than increase in Turkish section activity (which also dropped significantly).

Situation is pretty much the same across all local boards as bascially all of them (except maybe few less active ones) had decreased amount of posts. Lots hope this was just an exception and we see better numbers next month.

Local boards post race

Courtesy of bitmover

Active members per local board during February 2024

During last month 1482 members wrote at least 1 post in one of the local boards, which is a drop compared to month before number (1589). Given the decrease in the amount of posts, no surprises there. This decrease has been shared by majority of local boards, while the most active one (Russian) even managed to increase that number a bit.

Local board members per amount of posts during February 2024

When it comes to members who wrote only 1 post, Polish board is the leader with 57% of such members, followed by Indian (53%) and Arabic (46%) local boards. In the same bracket, Pakistan local board has the lowest percentage of those members ( only 3%), followed by Indonesian (15%) and Bengali (20%) local boards.

In the 2-9 posts bracket, Romanian is the leader with 56%, followed by Bengali (50%) and German (43%) local boards. At the same time, Portuguese local board has the lowest percentage (19%). followed by Polish (21%0 and Italian (25%) local boards.

When it comes to members who wrote 10+ posts, Pakistan local board is the leader with 67% of such members, followed by Portuguese (52%) and Nigerian (43%) local boards. In the same bracket, Romanian local board has the lowest percentage of those members (11%), followed by Greek (14%) and Indian (16%) local boards.

Merit shared per local board during February 2024

Considering the decrease in the amount of posts, merit drop was expected and indeed happen; while in January 8765 merit was shared acorss local board, the number dropped to 6180 which is a very noticeable ~ 20% decrease.

Once again Russian local board is ahead of the others with the exactly the same amount of merit shared (1763) as in January while almost all the other local boards had decreased amount of merit. The one that stick out in that regard are Indonesian local board that went from 1765 merit in January to only 644 in February and Nigerian board that also had a big drop (1197-547). I wonder what happened there, but my guess is that external merit sources didn't share much merit there. At least not as much as in previous months.

Merit/Post ratio per local board during February 2024

Given the big decrease in the amount of merit shared across local boards (number of posts went doiwn too, but in the lower percentage), no surprise that aberage merit/post went down too, from 0.6 in January to 0.43 in February. What is also visible is that red colour dominates, meaning majority of boards have higher 12 month ratio than the last month one.

Beside that, Spanish local board is at the top with an excellent 1.28 merit per post ratio, followed by Arabic (0.72) and Italian (0.68) while once again Pilipinas is at the bottom with the extremely low 0.02 merits per post, which is probably on par with the Off Topic and few other boards that are known for the low post quality.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during February 2024

In the above mentioned period 503 members sent and 566 members received merit across the local boards which is a pretty significant decrease compared to previous month's numbers (616/645). Once again, no surprise there and the decrease is pretty much consistent with the decrease in the amount of meriot shared.

Percentage of merited posts across local boards during February 2024

On the average, 17.3% got merited acorss local board during last month, which is a decrease compared to month before during which 21% of the posts on the local boards got merited. This time Spanish local board had the highest percentage of merited posts, followed by Romanian which means they just exchanges previous month's positions but this time we have Italian board climbing up to the 3rd spot.

Naturally, Pilipinas local board has by far the lowest percentage of merited posts and I really think that they could use help fo the external merit sources, assuming that they have enough quality undermerited posts.

Merit per transaction across local boards during February 2024

Last month's average across 17 local boards (missing Greek local board as they didn't share merit last month) was 1.63 merit per transaction, which is a drop compared to the month before (1.86). Once again, local boards with highest merit/post ratio naturally (in most cases) have the highest merit/per tx ratio.

The most active members per local board during February 2024

And for the end of the overview, list of all the top 10 most active members per local board. This time mandown from Turkish local board was rthe most active one with 243 posts, The0ldl_lser from Russian board was 2nd with 22 posts while joker_josue from Portuguese local board had to satisfy with 3rd spot and 211 posts. Keep it up!

As much as I appreciate the external merit source's efforts to assist us and put us in competition with the Russian and Turkish boards, I must point out that those merits are not given organically; instead, they are given based on what a few individuals think of other users' posts, and most of the time these individuals favour only a specific circle rather than the entire board. I don't want to get into too much detail, but having a local dedicated merit source will make a lot more sense than what we currently have.

We have two pending applications at the moment.....
You are right, having an internal and dedicated merit source on the local board is a great help rather than relying on an external merit source. However there are a lot of applications pending so far and two of them belong to your local board, so I don't know what you should do other than be patient and continue with your usual dedication.

Sending the admin a PM and telling them your willingness to apply to become a merit source was once a solution I thought about, but is that okay to do?
From time to time merits circulations from different local boards had a chance of getting lower cause some merit source leave the forum.
There are a lot of applications are still pending and theymos didn't accept yet and we don't know why or what is the main reason of it. Anyways trying to PM our admins is still good so that theymos will know that a user will applying for merit source but what other said above there's a chance that hundreds of PM will recieve by theymos from different users her win our community.  Maybe it took too long to see but it's good if you try.

Imho, there's no reason yo contact admin stuff over that as theymos has been pretty clear about what someone has to do to became a merit source.

The only problem I see at the moment is that he usually readjusts merit sources after the amount of merit shared drops down significantly, and that hasn't happened in the last few years. Then again, just because he did it in the past doesn't mean that he will do in the future.

thyemos receives hundreds of PMs per day, and if there is one thing I've learned from the few PMs I've exchanged with him, it's that he likes to be reminded, so if you need something, don't just apply once and stop--for my application, I've left him a few dozen PMs, and I intend to send more in the coming months again.  Grin

You're right a Full member rank single week payment is better than our current minimum wage so yeah some members actually live a decent life off signature campaigns.
Oh ffs, I knew situation is bad there but I had no idea that its that bad and I am glad that people from 3rd world countries can make their life easier via signature campaign. That also explains alt account farms, as its a no brainer for many coming from countries with that kind of life standard.

I often say to people around me that bitch and complain about salaries etc that they have no idea how lucky they are and how much harder life is in a big part of the world.

We're about to take advantage of our population here as well
Yeah. it was just a matter of time. Due combination of crypto popularity in your country, size of the population and the fact that you can (I guess)  make an average monthly salary via signature campaign, I do expect you to eventually surpass Russian board as well.

While I agree that amout of merit sources is important, I don't think that its crucial for the growth of local board (at least not for the organic growth, without alt account farms). After all, both Russian and Turkish local boards don't have higher merit per post ratio than you so I wouldn't say they have advntage over you in that aspect.

With that being said, I do think that you need more merit sources and hopefully you get them the next time theymos decided to readjust the merit.

We seriously need to start thinking about making some yearly competitions and rewards for best local members, with counting of activity, merit distribution and overall forum contribution.
I think this could help improve quality of local boards and make everyone happy, if we find some sponsors (or if they find us).
What do you think about this idea?
That's not a bad idea at all, people like things like that and could yield results, especially if we manage to find some sponsors for it.

and the only advantage the Russian and Turkish boards have over us is the number of merit sources on those boards; whether we admit it or not, the number of merit sources and the amount of merit distributed attracts members to the local board, and that's exactly what the Nigerian board lacks; if we could get one or two merit sources, the activities would explode.

Nigeria board is in a long sprint! 2nd place! Congrats!
I woulnd't be surporised to see them at the top in the near future. Anyway, overview has been updated with your animated chart.

We're about to take advantage of our population here as well; we've done so on many CEX, and the only advantage the Russian and Turkish boards have over us is the number of merit sources on those boards; whether we admit it or not, the number of merit sources and the amount of merit distributed attracts members to the local board, and that's exactly what the Nigerian board lacks; if we could get one or two merit sources, the activities would explode.

Hugeblack and 1maiu weekly merits distribution is the only reason our activities are still competitive, but we still need a dedicated merit source who knows every phrase there.

Since months is almost over, I think its time to finally publish the January's (not so brief anymore) monthly overview.
Look at me and SirJohnVonSlotty proudly standing on podium with second and third place in our local board... but we can never dethrone the king.

Sometimes, I notice that a new account pop up every few days and suddenly become too much active. Once they rank up, they slowly left the thread.
Sounds like someone farming an alt account.

You see the activity because we all are in one thread. But, I don't know if we will see that much activity if we get a local board. But, it's also true that a lot of good posts get buried easily because we are in a single thread.
I don't see how getting your local board would decrease your activity. Sure, posts would be spread acorss many topics but that would also enable the more quality (and lenghtier) discussions which would then increase your overall activity. Just take a look at the Nigerian local board and how much their numbers went up since they got their own local board.

I have shared the reason a couple of months ago. But, I am glad that the spam has reduced a lot.
Quality > quantity. After all, your numbers are still good enough and if you keep them you will eventually get your own local board.

Thanks for the word. But, I started to feel that we are already good without a board. Of course, some of my locals will oppose my idea. But, That's what I started feeling in the last few months.
