Philippines is a small economy and it depends on more neighboring countries for the development. This can be of infrastructure, and various other forms of development. China will not force without any perfect plan, and this time of Philippines didn't take necessary precautions China will surely make some strategies to eliminate.

From a common man's view Philippines won't consider this a big issue, because even if Philippines ban all form of gambling activities still there'll be gambling through bookies and other sources.

Why would they urge Philippines to ban online gambling?? It's not Philippines' fault if Chinese citizens would work illegally in the Philippines, as if they're forcing them to do so. I know Philippines especially Duterte are being kind to China but that doesn't give rights to China to interfere about Philippine government and their action towards an issue and the country.

What do you guys think about China urges to ban all online gambling in Philippines?. One of their reason is that "The embassy said many of the Chinese citizens working illegally in Philippine casinos or POGOs and other forms of gambling entities are subjected to what media described as modern slavery due to severe limitation of their personal freedom and also Beijing welcomed the suspension of the issuance of new licenses for Philippine offshore gaming operations (POGO).

I think giving licenses for online gambling in the Philippines, should be stopped, there are so many chinese immigrants now in the Philippines, it's like a mass exodus, in the old times we only have chinatown in one place, now they are everywhere.

What I don't like about this chinese is they act like a bully, they think they are more deserving than the people in their area where they live, in fact, some of them do not have a license to work in the Philippines.

Does China really urge PH to ban online gambling? In what jurisdiction China has to urge PH to do such action? Maybe the best thing they should do is to urge their citizens to stop doing online gambling on foreign lands. I don't think China has the rights and jurisdiction to interfere on Philippine businesses (be it online or traditional).
They go to the Philippines just because they think that their President won't have any control in there and they can continue their illegalities. However, they forgot and even mistakenly know about the Philippines President. The friendly approach of Pres. Duterte towards China gives him a chance to have awareness regarding these gambling activities which is run by Chinese people. If China's President would suggest declining their application, it sounds like Pres. Duterte will follow(IMO).

I don't know how much influency China have on Philippines and it's difficult to trust in China government
Why don't give better jobs for people instead of try do obligate another country to do something?

This is the simple solution, if these people have good jobs, they won't seek in another places
The government of the Philippines should decide whether they have to accept the wish of the Chinese government to ban all of the gambling online. I just don't know yet if it is better to ban gambling online in the Philippines if it is giving a good trade in the economy they shouldn't risk of removing it unless there's a lot of Filipino people involve in the said complaints.

China want's to microhandle its citizens while gambling is deep rooted in Chinese society. There are many Chinese going to bordering town to gamble and many to launder their money. Macau and Hong Kong has been more restrictive that's why they are moving further. Chinese are familiar to online crypto gambling and a large amount of gambler comes from China.
Well, I don't know if the President of the Philippines will follow the demand of China because this is not their territory anymore. Yes, maybe there are dozen of Chinese people who live in the Philippines but banning gambling just because of them perhaps, hell NO.
Indeed, the Philippines has a good tax on the gambling industry and it also helps to grow the economy. I think that will never happen, they will never dictate the press. Duterte. Duterte has nothing to do with it, its the opposition in the government that tries to bann Chinese gambling operation and since they are picking just few of these established ones, the Chinese instead urges to bann all. This is politics in the Philippines, those who doesn't like Duterte wants to break the current relationship of Philippines and China. They all put in the mind of the Filipinos that Chinese are not good and tries to colonize us which of course isn't true.

For PH government they shouldnt really grant such request they dont just like for Chinese money to go out on their vicinity.China been restricting gambling and its citizens do love to play by means on online gambling and those who operate on PH does give the gateway. The only mistake i do see on this is that they should be at least having the license or authorization and ph gov can utilize these POGOs to get up some tax implementation for some additional.

If the Philippines agree to that, will they stop bullying the country?

I don't think so. They roam the seas that they do not own, and now they want us to ban online gambling for them? If I will be the one deciding to this I will say no. Filipinos are not fund of online gambling so I don't think this is a problem in our country. That is their problem, not ours.
Hell no. This issue is nothing to do about harassment of China in the Philippines especially on the islands which have more controversy.

Online Gambling is different with that, for what I heard, lot of Chinese people that are from China who is just landed in the Philippines just to operate gambling because, in their country, the gambling is illegal.
And those Chinese operators told that they have a lot of customers in different countries, not just on the Philippines, and I also heard that most of their customers are Chinese that didn't from China which is really unbelievable, I really can't trust those interviews and news about current issue about gambling in the Philippines now.

Any further explanation about this news? Why are they talking about "modern slavery" is they are bullying a country and I think it is like the Philippines are their slaves telling us what to do or what to think of. It is all in the hands of our President, Rodrigo Duterte to ban or not to ban online gambling.

How come China is meddling on Philippine affair now?  They have been so close and even the President of the Philippines allows the influx of Chinese and I'm sure they've given the blessing to Duterte to open its flood gate to gambling business in the Philippines. So it's kinda ironic that now they are advising them to shut down forms of gambling? I'm sure there are some political motivations behind this and it seems that the relationship are going sour now, specially after their meeting recently.

It's Ironic that they ask to ban all online gambling site in the Philippines because Chinese citizen are working illegally and are
subjected to "modern slavery" due to severe limitation of personal freedom while they themselves are doing the same
to their citizen and their citizen doing the same to other foreign workers. if you ask me, I think they have other motives why they
are asking for this.

I think it's the obligation of the Chinese government, to restrict their own people from going to the Philippines and working illegally, in the Philippines, there are huge migration of Chinese, in fact, there are areas in the capital of the Philippines that are full of Chinese workers, there are even restaurants and establishment dedicated to Chinese.

They cannot catch and do surveillance to all these Chinese immigrants there are too many of them against only few immigrants agents.

It's good news that the Philippines suspense the issuance of new licenses for Philippine offshore gaming operations (POGO).

as long as the gambling is not illegal and have a proper certificate i dont see any reasons to ban it but let say its the opposite or if gambling dont have any certificates and other legal documents to show , the ph country should have banned them instantly without any signal for china  .  when it comes to bullying  , that is already a different story  .   china might insist to continue doing it   .  we know china is also ambitious and wants more power

That’s the most stupid advice China made so far.knowing that Chinese is the biggest Gambling operator in the Philippines?and the most illegal workers so far is  Chinese in casinos they’ve run?this only proves how sh*t their government towards Philippines
And also the “Philippine Embassy “as well is part of this as they are not strict in implementing the law about alien workers and besides they issued a special working permit so the so called “professional Chinese”can work when the truth is laborer is what abusing the permits
Duterte must be strict about these abusive Chinese that commanding the country while the truth are being abused

If Philippines need China's help for their development of their country then they might accept their call but this reason is enough to ban all the gambling activities on other country where millions of natives having that habit? I don't think so,they might implement a law like Chinese don't have to run or work in a casino and if they found their Visa or any kind of legal actions will be taken against them.
