^I would like to add only this:

try, the worst case scenario is that you will run again your rig on windows, so there's nothing to lose here, a ~10 min job per rig, to test another way to do it

All good things to those who wait
i really donno why you are struggling with windows os when is so simple on linux distros, and there's still no issue with the 4gb dag size at this point
just try it, make an USB, and let it run for a day, than you'll see the difference on your example
you have nothing to lose

And how long you have no problems with your 4gb cards on linux? right around 1 month. So why i should change my OS to linux for 4 weeks? right senseless.

Windows is more userfriendly, Windows is stable as Linux, Windows use less electricity and there are much more things. It is a religion question, but i can´t hear this fucking linux guy´s anymore: "linux is the best, stupid windows, we can´t stop windows updates" and so on  Roll Eyes

And by the way i use windows and linux.

For older cards it is impossible to get high speed under windows. For example with 390 you get 17 Mh, with 280x 9Mh. The problem is that with the increase of the dag file, windows drivers can't handle this well. There are multiple plug and play OS using linux kernels. Some of them are free, others have 2-3$ cost per month. With them I get 30Mh for 390 and 28 Mh for 280x.

Regarding the new cards. I used to have windows 10 rigs for 3-4 years. First of all, it takes several days, if not weeks to install everything and tune the cards. I had so many problems with crashes that damaged windows files, not to mention the updates, which for the most part can be turned off, but it is another week of wasted time digging into the registry and finding the right tool with google. And one day the windows of one of my rigs died completely. I had ssd which shouldn't get bad sectors, but there were some serious mistakes on the boot and system files that no tool available could repair. I lost several days trying to recover windows with no luck. In the past I've recovered the system may be 10 times but not this time. Then I decided to look for linux based system. Found smos, read about it for 1 hour, installed on a flash for 15 mins, put it in the rig and voilà! It worked! Then I needed only 15 mins to OC the cards and boost them with the tools of this OS. So I switched all my rigs to smos. I have also rigs with HiveOs - somewhat more complicated but free for one rig on any pool, or for several rigs if mining on hiveos pool.

These OS are regularly updated and you have all available miners to test, while it will take much longer to find them googling. So it is not only about the 1 month extra time for 4Gb cards. Although it matters a lot for those who make (tens or hundreds of) thousands per month, since eth is over 2x more profitable than the rest coins after the etc fork. And of course with the browser I have complete control of the rigs and the cards. I can flash their bioses with ease, etc... There is just no reason to mine with windows, unless one has the newest cards and for some reason it can't be tuned with the existing linux OS's. (I know also about ethos, raveos and others but I haven't tried them all.)

Did anyone tried claymore on new ETChash algorithm? maybe it works..

It looks like we cannot use claymore miner after 1 or 2 dags.

Best thing about this miner is -straps command, i will probably change my miner, my question is 'is there any other miner which i can use -straps command, my cards are amd rx 570&470 8 gb

Second question;

I tried a lot of rom for my cards but every time i had a problem, how can i find which straps claymore is using, so i can flash my cards after claymore miner dies.

Try PhoenixMiner.

It all started with Eliovp's AMD Tweak to change/modify straps on the fly: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/amd-mem-tweak-xl-readmodify-timingsppstraps-on-the-fly-5123724

Later, Claymore added this tool to its miners as well as others.

Hi dude, my etherminer does not work and after added the -eres 0, it started to work but at the rate of 11mh/s from 30mh/s earlier on. Im using sapphire rx580 8gb. I have tried to switch to other miner but resulted the same. How to solve this? thanks in advance.

I used RaveOS 1.0.21 with Claymore 15 and I got error

GPU5 - not enough GPU memory to place DAG, you cannot mine this coin with this GPU

I found that upgrading to latest RAVEOS meaning to 1.0.24

fixed the issue.

Now mining properly.

You will end no option to in the next days... or for example not more ETC after today... I recommend you to go to a miner with development that also support Nvidia and AMD... You can have a look to lolMiner is working great and was one the 1st to have ETCHash adapted..

GPU4, OpenCL error -38 - cannot write buffer for DAG

Use "-eres 0" key.

claymore stopped supporting the miner. more and more problems. from the alternative miners interested in the gminer. hashrate is the same and no problem

I don't think he will care much that you switch. He was last active about a year ago and if he cared he would of made a few minors updates here or there. However I think he made enough profit in the crazy times when each GPU mining was making like $5 a day, during 2017 and part of 2018.

Right now each GPU makes like what? Say $1 so he gets a penny a day for each GPU. Back in 2017 it was more like $5-7 a day and he was getting $0.07 per GPU per day and he had much more volume then. So the money is there but not as much as it was in the past. If he saved most of the ETH or switched some into BTC, he is fairly wealthy at the moment.

I got an issue today anyone can help?

ETH: Stratum - Cannot connect to asia1.ethermine.org:4444
ETH: Stratum - Failed to connect, retry in 20 sec...

Any idea why? I ping the address and seems no issue?

Did you have an issue where you submitted a large amount of rejected shares?  You can get a temp ban if you did.  See if it connect with say the Eu1 or US1 servers just to see if its a problem.  Can also try Nano just to confirm if it is a problem with asia1 server / pool / or something else.  Lot of miners having troubles due to 4gb dag size and problems with miners as we approach it...even some 8gb cards are having problems because of issues in the mining software.  Most authors are right on it but Claymore is MIA and has been for a while.  Ive got it running on a couple of linux rigs but oddly even a couple of those have had to switch.

Dont be afraid to try other miners...as miners you must be ready and willing to change.

Self-proclaimed Genius
Until epoch 379.
According to the OP and Claymore's last few posts:

NOTE: please upgrade to v15.0 as soon as possible, old versions support up to #299 epoch only, they will fail then!
v15.0 supports up to #384 epoch (4GB DAG size).
