I do not agree with this strategy especially if altcoin is valuable and has a good price.
Is bitcoin not valuable?
If you had bitcoin a few years ago, let say you only have 50BTC and you hold it until now, just a question to you how much profit do you have right now? Unlike if you hold altcoin, let say you have 100 ETH and you hold it up to now, how much profit do you get? Try to compare the benefits that you will get to this day, hold altcoin or hold BTC?

the use of the right strategy also requires market analysis, if applied without seeing other factors in my opinion it will cause loss and also waste time

In the near future, a lot many of the altcoins are going to die and the market dominance of Bitcoin is going to increase. So if you are holding some of the less known alts such as Bitsend or GBYTE, it may not be a bad option to convert them to Bitcoin.

I think it would be better to have both because basically altcoin can also provide benefits just like bitcoin.

now sell or buy then there is no price satisfaction, in my opinion should not sell or switch between coins now, the market is falling extremely deep, if this does not make you will lose

No of course in my 5 years in crypto I have seen some people got very rich till now and not from bitcoin but from altcoins they are holding like my collegiate he is holding his xrp since February 2017 he buys for only $1500 and he hodl it for one year up to December 2017 and January 2018 he sold half of his xrp worth almost $320k from his $1500 see, how powerful altcoins are compared to bitcoins?
It is fine and we have benefits from all best cryptocurrencies but productivity is something else that is why we desire for Bitcoin. Except Bitcoin all the other cryptocurrencies which are best recommended also generate profit for us but lesser than that of Bitcoin. Now if you have Altcoins and are in profit then I will suggest you to find a way where you can make profit by selling it in order to upgrade to the Bitcoin.

As for me, I will not sell my alts just to buy btc. I'd rather hold both alts and bitcoin as they're both profitable. You can earn profit in bitcoin, and so with alts. Better have it both.

I don't really agree. bitcoin price increases are not significant every month. even more likely to go up and down. while the increase in altcoin prices is very significant. we all know the rise in altcoin prices, there are several altcoins in just one week experiencing a high price increase. and that is very profitable.

It could be one of the best ways to invest in a long term. Tho cryptos were known for its volatility, again, BTC is the best for their stability in prices, BTC prices already be of of main factors that could determines the prices of the other altcoins. I personally would rather to choose to investing in BTC than the alts

I disagree, this is a bad idea, getting bitcoin by selling altcoins will certainly make 2 things worse, first the marketcap will not increase, and the second will make the altcoin price to zero, if many altcoins die then it can certainly be unattractive .

I would not recommend investing in just one crypto currency.if bitcoin seems to have a much lower price.Don't sell your all altcoins for bitcoin.

I do not agree because the condition of very cheap altcoin prices can provide very much profit when the altcoin price rises and if you sell it and replace it to buy bitcoin it will make you lose because the bitcoin price movement is too slow.

I read this article, but I want to see opinions, would you sell all your alts to have only bitcoin now ? I don't think this is recommended

it depends on your strategy because you cannot predict what will happen in cryptocurrency because of the manipulation but i thi k if. you know how to see the chart just do sell if you get a good amount of profit and buy more when the value of the goes down again.

I do not agree with this strategy. Agreed  Holding bitcoin is profitable but there are altcoins that will bring in much profit many times over within the period of HODL .
For me maybe ill split it up if we need to earn more profit.
Just hold our btc and others buy some altcoins, We all know this two we can earn profit but we need to think about it of which the way we want to work to.

Still it was in the range of this question and much more with this stage of bitcoin decreasing its marketcap while the dominance becoming much higher in percentage. In what i am seeing people were selling alts in panic and buy btc which is something good and bad i'm not an expert but i think its good if they know it will go further dump during bitcoin dumping.

Approve or disapprove, it doesn't matter as this is what practically everyone is doing right now.
People panic sell alts, bitcoin dominance grows, alts die to never revive again.

Once the market gets cleared up, whales will start pushing btc price upward again.
This will bring the market to the new stage. New projects and new coins will arise only to die in a couple of years.

Remember the top 10 of coinmarketcap in 2013?
Yeah, I don't remember any of them, too. Apart from XRP and LTC, of course.

Exactly because you sell altcoin for Bitcoin when you do not have enough margin of profit to earn in altcoin. But since we have a rising market in the near future and the worth of your altcoin can rise high as the market rise, you should not sell altcoin to buy Bitcoin and should rather hold both in the same time to get your portfolio diversified. This will also add value to the worth of the portfolio and decrease the probability of loosing money.
