For long term investment i hold both but by different porfolio, 70% ETH and 30% BTC because i look ETH can be bigger than BTC in the long term. ETH has chance to be number 1 crypto in the future because their technology given many benefits to the all cryptocurrency community.

Bitcoin and Ethereum both are very good to hold as a long-term investment. Of course Bitcoin is historically the first and the best crypto currency, but Ethereum has a great future as well. The Ethereum is the second after Bitcoin in the world of crypto currencies.

I chose to hold ether because it has smart contracts.  Bitcoin is a dinosaur.

I think at the moment it is more reasonable to keep your investments exactly in bitcoin, since it is he who will quickly return to his previous levels, and then invest some of the funds in other altcoyins.

It seems to us that bitcoin is now at the bottom, because we saw the price of 20000 dollars. For this reason, people are now buy more BTC than ETH. But I'm sure that ETH is also an excellent coin for investing. Now I'm investing in both coins 50/50 because they have almost the same potential.

I'd hold both.

Sure eth is much slower to rise (and go down) atm.

But i still believe it is a tremendous coin, with huge potential.

As far as Bitcoin goes, well we all seen in 2017 what it did and still can accomplish !

maybe now I prefer etherium, because all bounty here must use etherium. and I think the price of etherium is quite stable compared to bitcoin

Both bitcoin and ethereum are profitable and have all the ability to reach many all-time highs like what the two coins shown in their past growth performance. The only difference is their price, bitcoin is much higher than the ethereum and is more profitable if you put it in long term hold. Ethereum price, on other hand, is much cheaper and affordable to buy. I'm holding both bitcoin and ethereum because I believe that this two cryptocurrencies are still the most profitable to hold in the years to come.
Bitcoin is bitcoin and the brain of all alt, ethereum is one of the alt that bitcoin has. But yes both of the two will be good so far the feedback of this two will sounds good. Maybe bitcoin has a ahigher value than ethereum bt to think time will come that value will be more valuable as we predict for the future for all alt and bitcoins.

I rather pick bitcoin than eth. The more unpredictable, the more profitable for me unlike eth that has a stable value. Let's put bitcoin on a table.

Why not holding both? But if I am to choose it would be ETH to hodl. Its price hasn't raised as much as BTC so I guess it would be more profitable decision to be made

I prefer bitcoin, because this is the oldest coin and everything depends on it at the moment, bitcoin behind it pulls all the violas either down or up

My portfolio is quite peculiar... I've been holding 0 btc's and only 0.28% of my portfolio is allocated into ETH. On the other hand, the remaining % is all on other altcoins.

Why would I have to choose only one of them ?
Both of them can be interesting to hold, there is no competition between them (except the first position in marketcap), because they are not dealing with the same cryptcurrency categories. They don't play on the same board.

a difficult question I think. I removed btc and eth if i got btc with altcoin. Because btc is more mobile. For the elimination is stable, eth keep it.

I choose to hold both. I'm holding around 60% of my investments in bitcoin and holding 40% on altcoins including Ethereum. I'm holding bitcoin because of high profitability and also because it starts to rise again. And Yes, Ethereum has been a stable coin and also have a future of good profit.

My holdings right now are 30% bitcoin, 20% ETH, 20 % NEO and 30% other altcoins. I think everyone should have and bitcoin and ETH for the long term.

I so much like both but the truth is that I like to hold BTC over ETH even though the volatility is affecting the bitcoin but I believe BTC have more prospect of pumping up ones more just like it was when this thread was opened. ETH is the best altcoin and the features of being used as a smart contract is an added advantage but however, I will choose BTC over ETH any day any time.

I’d rather choose bitcoin for now due to its value in the market even it gets lower i believe that it will go higher in the next months.
