Bitcoin is the currency of this age
The competition is on, and Altcoins are sure to be a major competitor to Bitcoin, An Altcoin with a viable and productive service/product in demand globally can surpass the demand for BTC, Thou this might take a while for lot of ICO roadmap to be accomplish, but as the space evolve, good projects are sure to deliver an hedge in the crypto space.

Bitcoin dominance in the crypto market almost 51% right now. If bitcoin price will go to the moon again then this dominance percentage may increase! But we have many options in altcoins, and many altcoins are better than bitcoin in several ways! Do you think, in future, Altcoins will dominate the crypto market? Or will it be a strong competitor to bitcoin?

Yes altcoins were competing Bitcoin but its not make sense seems no impact because Bitcoin still dominate the price of cryptocurrency , thus altcoins are competing each others .

The bitcoin and altcoins will coexist in the future as they each serve different purpose and they need each other.  Bitcoin is for storing funds while altcoins are more used by general people in daily lives.  Some Altcoins also offer smart contracts and token creations which are useful for institutions and big companies who want to have their own tokens.

in terms of competition, of course there will be in the market and we can see how many people are interested in bitcoin and altcoin, and every competition that happens is certainly not going to be easy for the altcoin.

Yes, altcoin can definitely be, because most altcoin are structured to function like bitcoin, there are a lot of altcoin all around now trying to meet up with bitcoin, just that bitcoin  has been the best even till date. If bitcoin slacks in its upgrade other altcoin may take over.

You are right, altcoins may a tough competitor to BTC like ETH, XRP, there will be a good game in future. But bitcoin is dominating right now also it is leading from the front in crypto market. Anything can happen in future let's wait and see.

it can happen, seeing a lot of altcoins that have very good development for now, but being a competitor for bitcoin for now is just a dream for the altcoin, because they can't catch up with the price, but in the future, maybe many altcoins are more popular than bitcoin, but, still, bitcoin will never sink

I think some altcoins (like ethereum) can be a competitor to bitcoin but for now there is no such thing because bitcoin is the strongest crypto.

Well, as many have said such a gap just does not close. Yes, if Bitcoin leaves. Someone will still take his place, and the rest of the currency will be equal to each other. I think this gap is not yet reduced. In the next 5 years for sure.

Virtually every coin is trying to compete with the other, but not all altcoins have this ability, because most of them are just here for a short while and waiting to vanish. There are some that have long term ability and have the tendency to compete with bitcoin. Although, they are yet to grow to that stage. The only close competitor now seem to be ethereum, although still shaky.

I don't think anyone is a competitor of bitcoin, because bitcoin is the parent of all coins, and until when you will not compete with bitcoin, everyone said ethereum would exceed bitcoin but the fact is now the price is very low.

to compete with Bitcoin it's still too early Altcoin will be like Bitcoin, because Bitcoin has spread everywhere, to stop it is very unlikely. it takes time and it's still not time

I think not. No matter how potential and powerful altcoins are, they are altcoins. Bitcoin is far different from altcoins. Btc is the only one that can lead the market as of now. So far no altcoins is the same as bitcoin.

Yes they are and if not the market cap will not be shared and more so , some alts are taking in to consideration what Bitcoin miss when it started and some bug in it to make a better option like the time of blocking which is 10min for btc are even just 1min for some alts which is a competitive act to show how fast they are compare to btc and the rate of trx fees which is very low compare to btc and doge , this are some way they are being made a rival to btc but since btc is the first and the largest ,that is why it still share a large marketcap compare to alts.

Dominance in context of what? Price? Adaptability? Technological dominance?

Bitcoin has been the first cryptocurrency, it has more trust in general amongst the masses, it is deflationary in nature(other AltCoins can also have this property).

Cryptocurrency in general are not backed by any physical asset, say petrol price depends on the demand supply, similar for gold etc. But the price of cryptocurrency currently depends on the adaption amongst the masses, till it actually starts providing tech bases solutions (decentralised system) and it starts getting adapted.

Coming back to the original point, Will AltCoins Dominate? No they won't, reason, they will always have less adaptability then Bitcoin. Yes Eth has a strong developer community support and it is focusing more on developing the decentralised ecosystems.

No, I don't think that Alts may be a big competitor for btc in the current situation as btc will still be the only crypto coin to dominate in the crypto world. Bitcoin is the only crypto currency that is responsible for every market movement in this current situation. All altcoins really depend on btc's market condition and this is the usual basis for the alternative coins market trend.

I believe that Bitcoin has no competitors. Because bitcoin is a leader this is the best coin. In which to always invest. I am sure that until the end of the year Bitcoin will be about $ 10,000.

I don't think that the altcoin can become a competitor of BTC. At present, almost all cryptocurrencies must be exchanged for legal currency through BTC.
It can because they have the same possibilities to compete with bitcoin but they must become independent and not getting any impact caused by the bitcoin movement. It's a very difficult thing to do that. It can be done when there was an altcoin that has backed by a real valuable thing just like the gold.

Actually if Altcoin would be a strong competitor for bitcoin, it would be yes and I think it's natural! But if Altcoin will dominate the crypto market, I don't think so. It will be a difficult step for altcoins if they have to shift the popularity of bitcoin in the future. However, bitcoin will continue to dominate the market. Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrency for a very long time.
