The transition from Proof of Work (PoW) to Proof of Stake (PoS). The Ethereum foundation is betting that PoS will be able to improve the security and efficiency of blockchain technology while creating the conditions necessary to scale blockchains for mass adoption. Good productivity now for ethereum, as we can see market price for it now turns to green. Maybe its a turning point for ethereum but it shows now positivity in its price. Everyone hopes for it to continue to increase especially traders and investors.

I think this current price will rather help ETH to consolidate on its position of being the 2nd most valued cryptocurrency after Bitcoin.

I have read all the news about ethereum going to take back the number two position according to the coinmarketcap. I think this has something to do with what you say. I think in 2019 the price of ethereum will increase. But the price is still below the year 2017. Crypto will improve again in 2020. Many sources say this. So that it becomes a strong reference for us to invest.
Well, imo the first thing is that Eth is really alive. There is a roadmap on the table and it's the biggest community and ecosystem. The train is leaving.
Ehtereum is going through a difficult time (although it has had a good recovery these days) that I find absolutely unjustified: it is simply paying too many shitcoins who use it as a platform.
