Georgia Tech has won 4 straight games, and this is the game that they have had circled for quite some time. They should have beaten Duke in Durham early this season but fell apart in the last minute of that game. The favorite is 24-10 ATS in their last 34 meetings between Duke and Georgia Tech. Duke is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 road games.

Today we roll with the Penguins as this one sets up to be a great spot for them.  The Penguins have just one regulation loss on the season at home as they are 7-1 at home.  They come off a 2-0 loss to the Islanders which was just the first time they were shut out this season.  I expect to see a motivated group here today.  Malkin said " we have to work harder and if we want to win we need to work".  Coming from one of their long time leaders I think the team responds today.  Lets not forget the Penguins have some revenge from earlier in the season when the Flyers beat them twice in a row to start the season outscoring the Pens 11-5.  This is a heated rivalry and I do not think the Pens have forgotten.  This looks to be a big let down spot for the Flyers as they come off back to back shut outs against the lowly Sabres.  They have been inconsistent this season and struggle against elite teams.  You have the Pens with revenge, coming off a shut out loss.  Put it all together I like the Penguins to get it done at home today.  Flyers are 1-5 in their last 6 games as a road underdog.  Penguins are 9-2 in their last 11 games as a favorite.

Look, the Hawks just lost to this team by 10 points and they fired their coach in Lloyd Pierce, who by the way, just had the birth of his second child. It's a tough business as Doc Rivers even mentioned. This team's management now has the attention of its players and coaching staff and the coach they got remember is Nate McMillan who was the assistant and who is well aware of coaching up young players - i.e. the Pacers who he coached for a long time. Atlanta will definitely focus on the defensive end, will play with a lot of focus and passion today and I think you will see a very motivated Hawks team. Yes, the Heat are great. But, this game is a culture building type of game and the tone will be set in this game in our opinion and no matter who plays for the Heat, Butler in, Butler out, whoever, we are riding the Hawks as the Heat are very fickle with their starting lineup announcements.

Neither of these sides are in great form at the moment and with the pressure growing on Juventus, they are ten points out of first place, this could be another stumbling block. Juve come off a 1-1 draw at ninth place Hellas Verona after an easy 3-0 win over Crotone. Add in a must win Champions League match against Porto next week with Juve down 2-1, and this might just be the match Juve do not need at the moment. Also Juve are on a nine match home unbeaten run with six straight clean sheets, this streak has to end at some point and they usually do against an unlikely opponent. For Spezia, they are coming off a 2-2 draw at Parma, not a great showing at the start, but they did come back from two goals down and we like the positive energy heading into today's match. Spezia also has two huge wins over Sassuolo and AC Milan in the last four matches. Juve will see this as a push over match, one they should easily win after their 4-1 win at Spezia earlier in the season. We just do not see Juve getting up for this match, while Spezia have the motivation to do something big.

The Vegas Golden Knights will look to extend their win streak to three games when they take on the Minnesota Wild in front of fans for the first time this season at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV on Monday night. Marc-Andre Fleury (9-3-0, 1.59 GAA, .941 save %) will get the start for Vegas and he will be opposed by Kaapo Kahkonen (8-4-0, 2.41 GAA, .915 save %), who is scheduled to get the call between the pipes for the Wild. Vegas has posted a 4-1 record in their last five games following a game where they allowed two goals or less and they have gone an excellent 6-1 in their last seven where they faced a team with a winning % of .600 or higher. They have also won ten of their last fourteen where they were listed as the favorite and they are a lights out 21-8 in their last 29 where they were listed as a favorite at home. The Wild, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here tonight as they have gone just 2-5 in their last seven where they faced a team with a winning record and they are an awful 6-14 in their last 20 games where they were playing in a fourth game in six nights situation. Throw in the fact that the Golden Knights are 23-11 in their last 34 games following a win along with the fact that they are 35-16 in their last 51 overall and we're going to lay the price with them here to get the home win in Vegas on Monday night.

Yes, the Jazz are a red hot team and they come into New Orleans here for this contest. But, don't forget the Pelicans were up 43-31 on this team in the first quarter before Utah came back to win that contest by double-digits. The difference here is that New Orleans will give it's best shot against the best team in the league. Remember, New Orleans always gets up for the better teams. They beat Milwaukee, Boston, destroyed Memphis and this team comes off home after 3 straight losses and I think the focus will definitely be there today. With Ingram, Zion, Ball and Bledsoe, this team can compete here with Utah and I think they will give it their best effort frankly today as this team will be at home, Utah has Philly on deck and and outside of the Hornets, we think this might be the best play. But, Portland has lost a slew of games so that might motivate them bounce-back at home so we will ride New Orleans today.

North Carolina has been a matchup nightmare for Syracuse over the years as the Tar Heels under head coach Roy Williams have beat the Orange under Jim Boeheim 10 of the last 11 times and they have won those games by an average of 11 points per game. The big problem with the Syracuse trademark zone defense is that it doesn't rebound well on the defense end of the floor which plays right into the strength of the Tar Heels who rank #1 in the country in offensive rebound percentage. We seen evidence of that earlier this year in the 6 point UNC win over the Orange as the difference in that game were the 24 offensive rebounds pulled down by the Tar Heels which was an eye popping 53% overall, the highest percentage North Carolina has had in any game this year. The Tar Heels are currently ranked 34th in the Kenpom rankings this year and Syracuse has went 0-6 in games this season against top 40 teams losing by an average of 13 points.

North Carolina got off to an uncharacteristically slow start to this season going just 5-4 in their first 9 games. They look to have straightened things since then and especially of late as their last two victories have been their two most impressive showings so far this year, beating Louisville by 45 points and knocking off 9th ranked Florida State over the weekend. Freshman Walker Kessler and Kerwin Walton have started to come of age and with that the Tar Heels look to be an improved team. UNC likely needs one more decent win on their resume to get a spot in the NCAA tournament so I expect them to bring maximum intensity to this one tonight and get the victory.

Everton are still fighting it out for a place in Europe next season heading into Monday's match with struggling Southampton. The Toffees are just four points back of fifth place Chelsea and three points back of local rivals Liverpool in sixth who both have played two more matches. This is definitely a gut check match for Everton coming off a powerful performance at Liverpool, winning 2-0, they return to Goodison Park where they have just one win in their last five matches in all competitions, but are winless in their last five in the Premier League with four losses. There is some pride that Everton needs to find this afternoon a home, they beat both Chelsea and Arsenal at home in December and played Manchester City close two weeks ago. For Southampton, they have kind of imploded and are currently the most out of form side in England. They are coming off an embarrassing 3-0 loss at Leeds and aside from a 2-0 FA Cup win at Wolves, they are winless in their last six away from home. In the Premier League, they held Chelsea at home 1-1, but are winless in their last eight with seven losses. Everton will be away of their loss in October at Southampton, but that was a very different Southampton side who caught Everton probably at their lowest point of the season. With Sheffield United up next for Southampton, a match they should win easily, they could also have an eye looking ahead to a much easier match.

The Bears were not impressive at all this week in the first game back after coming off a long Covid pause. Kansas has been much better of late and should have beaten Texas on Tuesday in Austin. Just do not believe Baylor can run the table in the Big 12 and one of the next two games (or both) will trip them up. Iowa State is terrible, and they struggled to beat them in Waco, winning by just 5 points. The Jayhawks have won 5 of their last 6 games and I see them taking this game down to the wire with a great chance to win it. The underdog is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 games between Baylor and Kansas. Kansas is 5-0 ATS (1 push) in their last 6 games.

Manchester City begin a four match home stand as they welcome West Ham United north. City have taken a 10 point lead at the top of the table and are riding a 19 match winning streak and are unbeaten in their last 26 matches, winning 23. And though they have disposed of a number of strong sides, we see West Ham as the most inform side in England right now. I know that sounds crazy, but the London club is just firing on all cylinders right now. In our App Play this week we talked about City’s Champions League match not being a trip up match, but we actually see this match as that. City have only conceded 6 goals during this winning streak while scoring 49 goals. This run cannot last forever and goals tend to become harder and harder to come by. City struggled getting past Arsenal in the last Premier League match, winning 1-0 and needed a late goal against Borussia M’gladbach to cover the -1.5, winning 2-0. While you have a West Ham side that is unbeaten in the League in their last four, only losing to Liverpool in their last 11 matches. They have taken down Tottenham 2-1, rolled last Aston Villa 3-1, Sheffield United 3-0, and Everton 1-0 who City beat 3-1. Away from home in the League, West Ham are unbeaten in their last five. They played City close in October, drawing 1-1, that will give them a ton of confidence heading into Saturday’s match. City have to be careful here, but a loss at this point in the season or a poor performance may be what they need to stay on track.

Late in the CBB season, a team can show lots of improvement if one of their younger players takes a big step forward. We have seen this of late with Georgia State sophomore big man Jalen Thomas. In each of his last three games Thomas has posted his best single game scoring output of his career, beating the previous mark along the way. In doing so the Panthers have not only won but have also covered the point in each of those three contests. Many would agree this Georgia State team has the most talent of any team in the Sun Belt Conference this year. They come into this one playing their best basketball of the season and looking for revenge in this one as they lost a close 3 point game to this South Alabama squad, their first loss to this Jaguars program after beating them 5 straight times and 7 of the last 8.

The Thunder will be without Horford and that's ok as we still like the Thunder. Remember, OKC just had SGA drop 41 points in their last game as he sort of grew up before our eyes and this team beat the Thunder. Without a doubt OKC will get up to face the Hawks here and the Thunder did beat the Hawks by 20+ points last year which worries a bit but I think the fact that Atlanta comes off such a huge win over Boston as Galinari dropped 38 points in that game and Young shot essentially 50% from the field. If you are OKC, would you not get up to face Young and the Hawks? This is a OKC team that prides itself on defense as well as they have a fantastic coach and they have held 4 straight opponents to less than 110 points. Note, this team nearly beat the Lakers twice in overtime, did beat the Bucks and nearly beat Denver losing by a bucket. I think grabbing the points is of use here and we like OKC with the points here as they hang tough and likely fall inside the number. Note, the Hawks also have Miami on deck as well and they might be looking ahead there too.

The Pacific Tigers come to the University Credit Union Pavilion on a two game road winning streak and their offense has been on point as of late. The Tigers have been trending 'Over' games going 4-1 O/U and in those 5 games they averaged 73.8ppg. St. Mary's had a big home win in their last game beating Pepperdine 66-61 and that snapped a two game losing streak and I see the Gaels putting up some points at home. Last year the Gaels beat the Tigers at home 71-63 and that total flew 'Over' and the last 4 meetings 3 of them have gone 'Over'. Pacific is a perfect 4-0 O/U last 4 road games and the St. Mary's Gaels are 7-1 O/U against a team with a winning SU record.

We really have a perfect situational spot here tonight with Winnipeg playing their first home game since February 13 after a 4-game road trip out West. Montreal also comes into this game extremely hungry after dropping 3 straight games including their last 2 games by one goal. Montreal is a much better team than their record indicates and they have averaged 3.9 goals per game on the road this season. Montreal's power-play has been solid on the road converting at 21.9% with the extra man this season and Winnipeg has allowed 33.4 shots on goal per game against them over their last 5 games. Winnipeg's penalty kill has also struggled over their last 5 games with opponents converting 20% against them with the extra man. Montreal is 4-1 in their last 5 road games and 7-3 in their last 10 games when favored on the road. Montreal is also 4-0 in their last 4 trips to Winnipeg and the road team is 7-1 in the last 8 games play between these 2 teams. The Sacramento Kings have played the 2nd toughest schedule in the NBA this year. They come into this game with a 8 game losing streak but they were also missing 1-2 starters in half of those games. Before this recent rough patch the Kings had just beat good teams like the LA Clippers, Denver, Boston and Toronto. In fact Sacramento went 7-1 straight-up in games played between January 22nd and February 7th and this despite being the underdog in 6 of those 8 contests while also going 8-0 ATS. One of those wins was over this New York Knicks squad that they face here in this game.

The New York Knicks are already down one key player in Mitchell Robinson who's out of action dealing with a fractured hand injury. They are also expected to be without starting point guard Elfrid Payton as well in this one. I think the wrong team is favored in this game.

This is an interesting line after Molde came out from their pre-season schedule that last saw they play on February 4 to come back from 2 goals down twice to draw 3-3 at home to a good Hoffenheim side. Molde had last played a competitive match on December 19th, so this was a major letdown for Hoffenheim to fall apart late. Now Molde must win to move on, a 1-1 or 2-2 draw do nothing for Molde, a 3-3 draw would give them extra time, but a win is a must. Molde are a bit of an unknown quantity here, we saw a smaller side fight back last week, so they have the confidence to go toe to toe and they are the more rested side as well. For Hoffenheim, they picked up their first win in their last five matches over the weekend with a 4-0 win over Werder Bremen, holding strong in 11th place in the Bundesliga they are unlikely in the relegation conversation, but also not in the conversations for a European spot. So with the pressure of their only positive opportunity for glory and coming off a 4-0 win, we see this as a letdown. Hoffenheim have given up 12 goals in their last five matches while they did score 4 goals in their win over the weekend, they had scored only 7 in the previous four matches. Molde know they just need a 1 goal win, while Hoffenheim just need to hold on for a draw or a 1 goal win as well. We do not see this match getting out of hand, defense and set pieces will win this match.

Arkansas was embarrassed earlier this year when these two teams played losing by 31 points. I expect the Razorbacks to bring their best effort and intensity to this one. They had beat Alabama the previous 6 straight times and come into this game with 7 wins in a row in SEC play. I expect the Razorbacks to bring their best effort and intensity to this one.

The Minnesota Timberwolves fired their head coach over the weekend and instantly hired his replacement in Toronto Raptors assistant head coach Chris Finch. Finch is someone who wants his team to play a fast pace and most importantly shoot a ton of three pointers. We seen that in Toronto this year as the Raptors are ranked 4th in the league in three's attempted per game. In Finch's first game on the bench for Minnesota last night, the Timberwolves shot a team record 54 times from behind the three point line against Milwaukee. All those three pointers allowed the Bucks to push the pace as they scored 16 fastbreak points in the game, A team averaging 16 fastbreak points per game would lead the NBA in that category this year.

Minnesota also made it a point to get the ball in the hands of their best offensive player Karl-Anthony Towns and he rewarded them by not only scoring 26 points but also putting up 11 assists in the game. The 251 combined points by the two teams was the 2nd highest scoring game for the Timberwolves this year (regulation time only) and it likely would have been a lot higher if the game was closer and both teams didn't pull most of their starters for much of the 4th quarter. In fact there were 141 points scored in the 1st half and the teams actually went over 200 points scored for the game in the 3rd quarter. Looking for more of the same thing here in this one.
