We have been on a down tick in the NBA and we look to change that this week and start a solid run in the NBA. Per this selection, the Spurs gave up 129 points last game which has to infuriate this team as they discussed in multiple post-game interviews. This is a Spurs team that simply had beaten Denver, Boston and others and were feeling themselves a too much if you will. You'd have to think that this Spurs team plays better defense here and locks down more here from a Memphis team that took them to the woodshed from start to finish - but that is only because Memphis had not played in quite some time b/c of Covid protocols so they were more than ready for that game. Let's roll with the Under here in what should be a very competitive game that likely goes under the posted total.

We roll with the Under today as we like the fact that Memphis comes off a loss and they are going to be irritated and we like the fact that UCF comes off an OT loss as well as giving up a near season high in offensive output. We have always felt that UCF is able to play quality defense and hang in against elite opponents by slowing down the pace if the opponent is a top 50 school like Memphis and as Memphis comes off a loss, we expect them to clamp down on defense as well which though this total is low, makes for a decent shot at an under this evening.

Look if you are the Bruins you have to be ticked as they were definitely the better team on Saturday when these teams hooked up losing 4-3 in OT. The Bruins were down 3-0 before coming back to tie it 3-3 and force OT which shows how tough they are to beat. The Bruins outshot the Caps 43-23 which saw them have 19 shots in the first period, and yet the Caps managed 4 goals on just those 23 shots. I expect a much better effort here from the Bruins. Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy said after the game " we felt we were the better team if you look at the overall game" The Bruins got back one of the league's best goal scorers last game with David Pastrnak, who is a major piece to their offense. I think now having a game under his belt and finding some chemistry again with his teammates that he will have more of an impact today. The Caps received a big boost before game time getting Ovie back but I think they are due for a let down here. I get they have been playing some good hockey which is why the public is all over the dog here today, but the Bruins opened up a favorite for a reason. Favorite's off a loss have been very profitable this season. Put it all together and I look for a big bounce back from the Bruins here today and a great public fade to boot. Capitals are 4-12 in their last 16 games following a win. Bruins are 4-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite.

Watford come off a disappointing scoreless draw at Millwall, ending their three match winning streak. The visitors were unable to capitalize on a number of chances, but this was probably the best result heading into this match. Watford will be hungry returning home where they have won their last three and are unbeaten in their last five. Add in Watford's defense has only conceded one goal in their last four matches overall and just one in their last five at home. For QPR, they are danger close to the relegation zone, sitting on 27 points, they are four points clear of 22nd place Rotherham who have played a match less. QPR come off a 1-0 loss at 18thplace Derby after back to back road wins. Though those wins were not against sides in the top ten. They may also be hitting above their weight on the road and we expect a major letdown against a side chasing promotion. This is the first match at Watford since 2013 between these two sides.

We roll with the Over here between these two teams for a variety of reasons. You have here is a Minnesota team that is only a small dog today as they come off a terrible game against Philadelphia. They ended up scoring just 94 points or so that in that game and Cleveland got demolished at New York - who had revenge - and only put up 81 points that game. They just didn't shoot well including Sexton who went 0 for 4 from 3 point land and Drummond who had just 4 points. Cleveland is going to play better today. Minnesota is going to play better today. And, what you are likely to see here is a faster paced game than most realize as this game goes over today.

We roll with the Over here as we think this will be a high paced affair. Remember, NC State will be without of their stars for the first time for the entirety of the game as he left mid-way through the Wake Forrest game. NC State is a good team but will have to to start two freshman here who will love to push the pace here. You combine that with Syracuse who just put up 58 points at Virginia and who will be hungry for a better output here as they simply struggled to shoot the ball there and they will face a more welcoming defense here in NC State. NC State can score and I think these young players will simply push the tempo and you have Syracuse on a bit of a bounce-back too and you put it together and I think you see a high paced game.

We like Tottenham to bounce back from their 3-1 loss to Liverpool on Thursday. They may be without Kane for this match, but we expect this talented bunch to step up in his absence. Prior to their loss, Tottenham was unbeaten in their previous eight matches, winning six. Away from home, Tottenham have won their last three in a row and are unbeaten in their last five. With a win today, Tottenham can move up to fifth. For the host, Brighton are unbeaten in their last three matches and are coming off a scoreless draw at 18th place Fulham. The host are 1-1-3 in their last five at home with just one win in their last 11 home matches. Brighton are holding just above the relegation zone, but just barely. They face one of the best front lines in the League and we expect them to struggle against a better side.

We are rolling with the over here as this total opened at 6.5 for a reason, as odds makers are thinking this will be a higher scoring game despite trends pointing to the under.  Both teams are coming off a loss so Im expecting both teams to be motivated here to grab a win.  The Devils come off a 3-1 loss to the Flyers where they out shot them 34-17 and still only managed 1 goal, while going 0-4 on the power play.  Buffalo comes off a 3-2 loss where they were only able to hit the back of the net twice against a struggling Rangers team.  The Devils goaltending has been what's keeping them in games this year but I think we are likely to see some regression.  The Devil's have to find their offense if they expect to win games this, especially in the division they are in.  The Sabres have some elite scorer's up front that can bust out at any time.  Put it all together I think we see a higher scoring game then some might expect and this one likely goes over.

We like the Grizz here as they have been off since January 18 and are hungry to get back to action. They have won five in a row including two on the road, both double digit wins. Valancunas is a huge question mark and we like for Memphis to set up in a big way without him. Add in wanting to prove they can run with the Spurs after giving up 131 to them earlier in the season. San Antonio come off a big win against Denver, winning by ten, their third win in a row. This is their fifth home game in a row and they have shown they can loss in Texas, losing by five to Dallas at home.

We like the Under here in this SEC showdown of mediocre teams. Ole Miss are coming off a 15 point loss to Arkansas where they only scored 59 points. They loss to UGA by four two weeks ago, 78-74 at home. So they will want to do the same to UGA in Athens. UGA has lost back to back after beating Ole Miss and Kentucky. Their offense has been all over the board scoring 59 against South Carolina, but 84 against Florida. They have are 2-6 in Conference play with one of those wins against Ole Miss. Both teams need to play better defense and after their last meeting we expect a slower matchup today.

We like the home side to bounce back from their first home loss in their last five matches as they host 10th place Aston Villa this afternoon. Both sides are level on 29 points, with the winning likely to jump a few spots and challenge for a place in Europe next season. Southampton are coming off a 3-1 home loss to Arsenal, not only snapping their winning run, but giving up their first home goals in five as well. Southampton also have a big win at home over Liverpool, winning 1-0 earlier this month. For Villa they are coming off a 3-2 loss at Burnley, their fourth loss in their last five matches. Away from home they have lost three in a row, losing to both Manchester clubs, but also losing to 15th place Burnley. This has the making of being a high scoring match, these two ran out to a 4-3 Southampton win at Villa in November, Southampton’s fourth straight win over Villa and the third match in the last four with 4 or more goals. Villa to have Jack Grealish and Ollie Watkins who have 14 goals between them, but Southampton have Danny Ings who is lethal in front of goal as well with 7 goals this season.

Times are hard in the northeast of England as Newcastle rides a six match losing streak and are winless in their last 11 overall. They are in 16th place on 19 points, six points clear of the relegation zone, but the conversation is becoming real about their form continues to spiral. They were able to pull back a goal against Leeds midweek, their first goal in their previous four matches, though four of their six losses were on the road. They now head back on the road for this match, facing an in-form Everton side that could not hold onto a one goal lead over third place Leicester City, drawing 1-1 midweek. This snapped a three match winning streak, but it appears Everton have regained their early season form and will be difficult to handle in the run in. Add in Everton's 44-19-17 record at home over Newcastle and we like for the home side to prevail on Saturday morning.

Hawks are 9-9 at this point and they face a Wizards team that is 3-11 here. What's interesting here is that the Hawks have actually covered 4 of their last 5 though their record doesn't indicate it as much in straight up wins. This team nearly beat a full Nets team who had each of their stars score more than 20 points to defeat them and the Hawks lost in overtime. It might seem stunning that the Hawks are only favored by 3.5 points here but there is a reason as they face a 3-11 Wizards team on the road but are a slight favorite. The Wizards get back some key players today including Hachimura, Bertans and Wagner today and the Hawks have a healthy Reddish and other players today - as Reddish has now socred more than 20 points in 3 of their last 6 games. It was not too long ago these two combined for 290 points in a game last year. The Wizards need a big bounce-back win, they have their healthiest lineup of the year and I think they will be active dogs and this game will be played at a very fast pace.

Per this play, you have a Green Bay team that just swept Purdue Fort Waye and I think they run into a buzz saw of a defense here as they face Cleveland State. Cleveland State has lost to this Green Bay team over, and over and over again. They have a massive amount of revenge and for the first time in a long time they are expected to actually win this game in a massive turnaround for this program. Note, Cleveland State is a top 120 defense, comes off an overtime loss to Milwaukee so they will be irritated and Green Bay has slowly turned around their season as well. Look for a lower scoring game than most expect here as this game likely goes under the posted total.

There is still no Kawhai and George on this team whereas the Heat will feature Jimmy Butler who was finally back to be with the team for the first time in quite some time yesterday for practice. This is a Miami team that had a horrible, horrible game against Denver. At one point, they missed 15 (3 pointers) in the first half, it was just terrible and that is why they scored roughly 80 points. It's hard to imagine they shoot as bad this game, plus they get back Avery Bradley and Jimmy Butler which should help them quite a bit here and with the Clippers not even scoring against a 100 points against the lowly Hawks, they are going to run into an angry and very defensively sound Miami team here and consequently we like the Heat to get it done here.

We roll with the Under here as at some point this TCU team needs to play defense and I think that will happen here. Plus, Bill Self is reportedly going to play a slew of players and try to go 10 or 11 deep as he wants to evaluate his team as they come off 3 straight losses which should allow for a sharper defensive output from each player who wants to make the rotation. Kansas is still a very good defensive team and as they face a team here who is essentially a bottom of the barrel team in the Big 12, they will likely play very competent defense and as TCU comes off giving up 82 points against Oklahoma, one has to think they will play competent defense too. Look for this game to likely go under the posted total today.

We are rolling with the Islanders to bounce back here in this one as road favorites. Look I think the Caps were fortunate to come away with a win the other night given the fact they are so short handed, as they scored the go ahead goal with 26.4 seconds left. Add on the fact that Backstrom and Eller both left the game with head injuries and not likely to return, they will be even more short handed, in a lot of key areas. Barry Trotz said it himself that is was a missed opportunity for the Isles and the Caps were rallying around the fact they were short handed and had some new players etc. I don't think that happens here today as the Caps typically do not respond well after a win as they are just 2-12 their last 14 after a win. I don't see Trotz losing back to back games against his former team. The Isles coming off being shut out prior to last game responded and held a 2-1 lead after being down 1-0 early. I look for the Caps to have a let down here today, while the Islanders are in prime position to bounce back. Islanders are 7-1 in the last 8 meetings in Washington. Road team is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings. This game also fits a nice system this year as a favorite off a loss are 25-8 (76%) and a favorite off a loss against an opponent off a win is 20-5 (80%) this year.

This is a very interesting time for these two sides to meet. Liverpool are coming off back to back losing including losing at rivals Manchester United over the weekend to crash out of the FA Cup. In contrast, Tottenham have won their last two and are unbeaten in their last eight, add in a 4-1 score line in their win over Wycombe in the FA Cup that is very misleading. Tottenham brought on the big guns, subbing on Kane and Son late to pick up the win, while Liverpool used a heavy first choice side in their loss to Manchester United. Liverpool enter in fifth place while Tottenham are in six, but times are much more desperate for Liverpool at the moment. We expect the pressure on Liverpool will be the deciding factor here as mistakes will lead to a Tottenham advantage. Also Liverpool have won the last six in a row over Tottenham, the host are a side much more equipped to handle this underwhelming Liverpool side.

We are taking the over in this one.  Look this one is simple as these teams have a combined record of 11-3 to the over and the Canucks themselves are 7-1 to the over.  Ottawa was held to just one goal as they lost 7-1 last game against the Canucks so they are likely an active dog looking to hit the score sheet.  Vancouver has alot of offensive fire power, yet that 7 goal outburst has not been the norm for them.  The Canucks have allowed the 2nd highest goals against in the league at 4.25 goals allowed per game.  While on the flip side Ottawa has allowed the highest goals against at 4.50 goals allowed per game.  In the last 4 games Ottawa has allowed 21 goals which is an average of 5.25 goals per game.  Neither team has gotten any consistent goaltending this season and I see this being wide open with both these teams.  I think these trends continue and this one likely goes over.

We ride Detroit here for a variety of reasons. For starters, this team should be 5-0 in their last 5 games and yet they are 1-4 in their last 5 games winning their most recent game against the Sixers. Look, these Pistons gave up 15 point leads in many of those games but they are getting better, they are starting to believe in themselves and with Grant and Wright coming along nicely along with their two rookies, this team is definitely getting deeper and better - and this is in addition to Rose and Griffin who continue to play well. Yes, the Cavs played great in their last game against the Lakers, which we rode them on, but the Cavs beat this Detroit team earlier this year and Detroit will use this game as a benchmark. Remember, the Cavs scored the last 8 points in the Detroit game last time and took the game to overtime and then they came back from down 9 points in overtime. Detroit still believes they can make a run at it and I think a win here would go a long way in improving a team that was 3-13 to 5-13 and a team that can easily be 9-9 if things had bounced their way. Let's roll with Detroit here today.
