The FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 will be opening tomorrow. You can check the schedules on the link provided below:

I have a question: Does anyone here know if there's a site that will stream all the games? Or is there a subscription similar to the NBA League Pass, so we can easily watch the games we'd like to see? Additionally, I've heard that some sites like Stake offer live streaming on their platform. Do they also cover this event?
Looking forward for the tournament to start and seeing the schedule for the opening matches look good for bettors.

Arenaplus(local casino) offers live game broadcast on matches as official partner of Fiba in PH. I’m not sure on other games in other country but you can check your local cable provider for a pay per view subscription since our local cable channel offer this kind of subscription.

I place a bet for Philippines as support for tomorrow’s game against Dominican Republic, I knew that KAT is playing with the opponent team tomorrow but I have high hopes that PH will manage to secure him down since we have many pesky players who can defend annoyingly against KAT.

I’m also tempted on 4.0 odds.  Anyone here with me with this suicide bet?
Seen the odds for one of host nations and it does look one sided.
Don't know if the odds have risen but they were @5.70x for the Philippines to win against the Dominican Republic when I checked them earlier today.
You can see them here before the matches begin:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/basketball/international/fiba-world-championship/matches
Atleast their game is around the same time tomorrow for me to catch it.

And if Australia has a lot of NBA players, then yeah, I would agree to what @wheelz1200, maybe they could land on a good spot in this tournament. But obviously, US team will be favorite here, but it will not be easy for them to just steam roll others teams even if they are composed of NBA players.

Basketball has already been evolving. While the NBA is the most popular league in the world, we cannot guarantee that it has the best players. This tournament will be a testament to determine which country truly has the best players. Even though Team USA is the heavy favorite, we wouldn't be surprised if they win. However, I still believe that there will be surprises, and the USA might not even reach the Finals.

unfortunately, there's no live streaming available for this game. It appears to be a closed-door game once again.
Was it for most of the teams that are having tune up games that there's no way to watch a stream? I think there's a definite reason why they're keeping it closed doors so that these practice or tune up games are well protected and kept private in preparation for their actual games soon.

These teams are trying to figure out their playing styles, team chemistry and looking for their bad habits. So they are not exposing their games to the public. Otherwise, the rest of the teams especially their team group mates will have their own staff assessing it and will identify their strengths and weaknesses.

Anyways, just two more days before the official start. I'm looking forward to the opening game between betting favorites Australia against Finland. Looking forward to Lauri Markkanen and his gang pulling an upset against the Aussies who will compete with a lot of NBA players.

Finland is a huge underdog with odds of 5.25 and an Asian Handicap of +9.5. Taking the moneyline odds is quite attractive if you truly believe that an upset could happen here. Although Australia boasts many NBA players, this is a world cup, and every game matters. Chemistry will play a significant role in this match.

Personally, I would consider betting live, as I have a feeling that Finland might be competitive in the early quarters but could falter in the second half. So, I'm considering either -5.5 or the moneyline if the odds are favorable for Australia.

Yeah, make sense to betting live in this tournament, there could be a lot of surprises as we all know that this players are representing their country, so we might discount that odds and maybe we will see some underdogs winning games and if we by chance go and bet on them, we might have a good winnings.

By the way, @AHOYBRAUSE and btc_angela, nice conversation you have there. It clearly shows that you really know about the history of basketball in your country.

Australia has a real good team.  Understand those odds are really nice but they exist for a reason.  If anything a first half bet might be the play there but even that is even odds so betting on Findlay is dicey.  I have Australia as one of my underdog picks to place (1st-3rd)  I do like betting underdogs in this tourny though, they hit sometimes where as league play major underdogs rarely ever pay off.  Good luck to you if you do lay on the game.

There could be some strategies that's being set by that coach and that's why he didn't allowed to play Clarkson for their tune up matches. Another thing is that he's preserving him to the upcoming matches there and that's the better choice that he needs to decide.

For sure Chot Reyes is up to something in every game, he always has a say on who's going to play or not even though some fans doesn't like what he is doing even though he is always doing something for the team, well you can not always please anyone but in my take Chot Reyes is surely a good one, he surely is preserving Jordan Clarkson and not letting him play on the tune-up games,
Yeah, just like any team that's near to their game day. Their key player has to be preserved so that no unnecessary things could happen like being injured during these tune up games.

While it's a tune up and practice games, the fans would love to see how those games are having. What I think is that they're not allowing it to be broadcasted so that people won't go to the venue and flock as they'll get to know that the games are live and happening if ever they broadcast it on a stream. Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore as we're just a few days away until we finally the live matches for many teams on this world cup.
Yes! the start of the game for the FIBA will be on Friday PST and as I would like to watch the game live, I can't because I have a work to do so pretty much I will be busy on that time, but surely that game will be broadcast nationwide so will be watching it on the comfort of my home,
You should have your boss and HR to take a leave for that purpose, they'll understand it.  Tongue
It's exciting as we're getting closer to the actual date of the matches.
Speaking of the date, for someone who wants to have the reference of scheduled games: https://www.fiba.basketball/basketballworldcup/2023/games

That make sense but I know that most teams are already advanced and they have their own scouting agent to watchout those teams that they're scheduled to play against with. Anyway, I'm also excited to see the opening of the games. I've already linked the scheduled for everyone's reference.

That's better so that the traffic won't be that much for everyone who's going to watch and support the live games. It's gonna be a traffic jam if it wasn't declared as a holiday for that day and it's gonna be another long weekend for us.

Yeah, I think getting his autograph will be allowed. Grin A very rare opportunity and I might take advantage of those chances to see most of the USA team as possible because once they are on court we may not be able to see them as close as we can unless we pay the expensive tickets.
That will be certainly worth it when you get one but like me whenever I see celebrities or athletes like them, I'm in awe and probably just forgot to do that as I stare at them. Anyone who's going to watch and pay for the tickets to watch Team USA? Gilas' tickets are affordable at least for the gen ad.  Cheesy

Had recently found out basketball is biggest sport to the country of the Philippines so hosting something like this is very important and the article linked from @Baofeng goes to show it to be true.
If the government can suspend work and schools for the metro area in Manila making it basically a national holiday says it all.
Didn't realize Jordan Clarkson was representing the Philippines. Joining Kai Sato as ambassadors of the country for the NBA players association. Very nice!

That's true, they have second oldest basketball league in the world, behind the NBA, and it is aptly called PBA (Philippine Basketball Association). And if we are waiting for a father duo in the NBA like Lebron and his son, the PBA had done it before, with their own PBA legend Robert Jaworski and his son playing with the same team for many years.

So just imagine that they really love that sports and you can find a basketball court in their streets. They even have one of the best murals painted and dedicated to Kobe Bryant when he died as he used to visit Manila several times.

Yes, Clarkson is going to represent the Philippines, I'm sure this is not his first time though as he had played before for the Gilas - the national team of the Philippines. And together with Kai Sotto, perhaps the Philippines can offer a better competition as they host the FIBA for this year.

I don't wan't to disappoint you but calling the PBA, or even NBA the oldest leagues in the world is such a long shot, I had to comment here.

Just a quick look at google and you see countless other leagues that war founded and running WAY before even the NBA.

Even we German, during world war 2,  had a league/championship in Germany already. Established leagues in Italy and Spain existed in the 1920s.
I know basketball is super popular in PH, I even played on the streets several times on well taken care off street-ball courts in Manila when I did some travelling, so don't get me wrong.  Kiss

I understand you mate, but if I will add, the PH basketball could have been established by the American itself and that's why it become so popular when they left the country after WWII and then established themselves their own league to the likes of NBA.

Of course that is debatable as you have said as there could be other leagues way before the NBA but it was not recognized though. As compare to the American way of playing as they have been dominating this sports until everyone catches up with them and so they have to come up with the NBA team, the Dream Team in the Olympics.

Jordan Clarkson is an NBA player and he already has several awards and titles, if he plays for the Philippines it will be easy for the Philippines to create a good serie and easily create points in every game.
It is true that he was not played for the Philippines at the start of the competition so that other players would not rely too much on him to be able to win but when he reaches the middle of the competition I am sure that the Philippines will definitely use his services anyway.
It is alleged that Jordan Clarkson will become a star in the FIBA League and he also has strong potential to make the Philippines a champion later, but this is just a rumor that is circulating and of course we need to look further at the development of the Philippines in every match so that we can really assess how they will be in the league. FIBA.

I am surely interested with the progress of the Philippine basketball team and well not because I am a Filipino and surely it is common in supporting the team in your said country right, but surely I am also interested with the other countries aswell for sure they will make a progress in making them play without Jordan Clarkson against the other teams this is to really ready the teams without Jordan Clarkson, or either Kai Sotto, definitely the FIBA stage will be a great platform for this Basketball  players to showcase what they can really do,

However, it is not only Jordan Clarkson that is playing for their country, a lot of NBA players too are into the FIBA representing their country like Dominican Republic having KAT.

So it's not going to be easy just because they have JC in the Philippines that they will be able to win or even become a champion in FIBA. They even have a tough bracket if I'm not mistaken against Angola.

Yup! Karl-Anthony Towns is now at Manila Philippines readying and training himself for the upcoming FIBA for sure KAT is one of the Crucial players for the Timberwolves and one of the All-stars in the NBA along Jordan Clarkson, for sure the match for the Dominican Republic VS Philippines will be a heated battle and a great game to watch,

Just want to let everyone knows that I met Tyron Lue about an hour ago in City of Dreams (casino here in the Philippines).

He was very friendly and he greet almost everyone that knows him (and as we all know of, Philippines is a basketball crazy country, hehehe).

Wasn't able to take pictures though as it is not allowed in this casinos. He was just looking for crap games though and then went to VIP and then goes out,
Wow, didn't you get an autograph? That was a rare encounter and I know how it feels when you feel starstruck by people like him.
So, with their arrival in our country. This is like what they do after the practice and they've been given time to stroll around and do anything that they can as long as it's already out of the team's schedule. As I look at those photos, it seems coach Spo and Steve are happy when they've arrived.
Yeah, I think getting his autograph will be allowed. Grin A very rare opportunity and I might take advantage of those chances to see most of the USA team as possible because once they are on court we may not be able to see them as close as we can unless we pay the expensive tickets.

Unfortunately, I was so start struck that I forget to ask for autograph, even everyone in the casino was, because we will all surprised to see him in the floor. Nevertheless, everyone knows who he is and he just keeps on nodding to everyone because he knows that we know who he was.

Who watched Italy versus New Zealand? Italy won but New Zealand gave them a hard time and even went to a point that New Zealand took the lead.
Somehow it made me wonder, what if New Zealand is playing for another group? Because I think they really played well against Italy but their group is up against the favorite which is Team USA.

The Boomers also finished their friendly games after defeating Georgia. 86-81
One of their players Chris Goulding returned after a potential knee injury. I guess he is alright.

Anyway, I think we only have 3-4 games left in the friendlies and soon the FIBA Basketball World Cup will start.

There are no more friendlies left man, the world cup starts in 2 days.  Grin
I also saw NZ vs Italy, they didn't just have the lead at some point. It was a close game the whole 40 minutes and NZ went into the 4th with a 3 point lead. Only in the last 2 min, after NZ was up by 1, Italy pulled away with a 10:0 run and finished the game.

Under normal circumstances NZ shouldn't survive the group stage but since Greece is missing several key players they might have a small chance.
Still, Greece beat Slovenia twice, so that showed they can definitely compete, even without Giannis.

I agree, with these players that have played with the best in the NBA with their respective teams whether they're teammates or opponents. The lesson and playing experience there is a big shape up not just for the individual players but also what they could share to the teammates that they're playing with for their national teams. While we're all going to agree that it's not about having someone on your wing just because they're playing in the NBA means they're automatically going to win rings on this world cup. This is all about the talents that we've got in different parts of the world who are great in playing basketball. It is exciting to see those teams that doesn't have an NBA player but they're trying to survive and win their games.

Well, salute to those teams that doesn't have any NBA players but are still on the top of the Fiba league, well the Philippines got one and that is Jordan Clarkson but with the tune-up games Chot Reyes the coach for the Philippine team decided not to let Clarkson play I guess this is to familiarised other players on the other teams without relying on Jordan Clarkson, that much, which is a great thing for sure,
There could be some strategies that's being set by that coach and that's why he didn't allowed to play Clarkson for their tune up matches. Another thing is that he's preserving him to the upcoming matches there and that's the better choice that he needs to decide.

Was it for most of the teams that are having tune up games that there's no way to watch a stream? I think there's a definite reason why they're keeping it closed doors so that these practice or tune up games are well protected and kept private in preparation for their actual games soon.
I think this is because it is only a tune-up game so there is no need to broadcast it, as for sure if they did other teams would rather have some idea on what is the streght of the other teams which is not a great idea for sure so for me it is OK if the tune-up games is not live stream, but there are people that are posting their live video of the game in Youtube so there are still ways in watching the tune-up games for FIBA,
While it's a tune up and practice games, the fans would love to see how those games are having.
