I am expecting a Serbia USA match, but it looks like we may end up with Canada as well. Canada is doing great and Serbia missing their best player. A game between USA and Canada will be a fun game to watch, not that USA would lose, but there is a possibility considering they didn't bring in their best players, we are talking about a situation that would be a bit different.
Canada was able to beat the defending champion Spain and facing Slovenia will surely be an easy one but still they should not be complacent as they will still face Serbia if ever. USA will surely advance to the final as they’ll face Germany which I think is not enough to beat USA. It’s exciting if Canada can make it to the finals but I think, Serbia will also have a good chance here, they are a better time to prepare now for the semis.
As much as I want Slovenia to win, I also think Canada will have a better advantage here but who knows, we all know the Luca magic and it might happen this afternoon in our local time. USA is sitting already in a good position, and I believe the top three teams here to end the FIBA will be USA, Serbia and Canada, better to have your bet ready as we are not entering into a more exciting round.

I think the best one would have been something a bit different, and Canada has some great players, so maybe they will win. There are 3 games left that I care, USA going to finals, Canada vs Serbia, and the finals of course. Lets see how this looks, definitely going to be something to care about in the near future without a doubt.

I have Canada going to the finals here.  They have a strong young core and some great defensive and scoring ability on the team.  Just like the US they are small and play small ball so that might trip them up but that's the matchup I'd like to see the US against in the finals.

Based on the matchups, I give Germany 10% chance of an upset against USA. Should be a one-way game from the off.

Canada is a clean favorite against Serbia as well, they can rotate more and SGA is the player of the tournament so far. Serbia is playing like a team though, and they have been scoring a lot. But trying to outscore Canada might not be the best strategy.
This is a game to watch, 2 totally different basketball styles. I'm looking forward to this one.

Betting-wise, I really like Latvia against Italy @1.9 odds.

This was a no-brainer, nice to see it turned out well for me.
I'm putting all the winnings on over 177,5 between Canada and Serbia.

Canada is the favorite not only against Serbia put to win the tournament. But with how good Serbia is playing defence i think it will be really hard for Canada to score easily like they did in games before. So i just wonder what will happen when they cannot find a way to score what will they do. So i think this will be really close

Germany vs. USA will be battling in the semi-final round. Although Germany is surely an underdog, I believe this team could match the USA due to their great chemistry. Let us not forget that they are undefeated in the FIBA World Cup, while the USA has lost once. Hopefully, Dennis SCHRODER will have a good game and bounce back after a not-so-good performance in their last game. This is their ticket to the Finals, and beating the USA would give them very good momentum to face the winner of Serbia vs. Canada.

Germany though is a huge underdog, -10.5 against the US. While Canada is -5.5 against Serbia. So if there will be a close match in the semis, it will be Canada vs Serbia.

US might have to lock in Dennis the Menace and that's it, they will have a good chance to win and might cover the spread. As against the Canada that might go against a Serbian team that might be looking for an upset in this FIBA World Cup.

The spread might be overvalued, and since this is a semi-final game, I think I would just bet on the underdog here. Germany is ranked 11, I believe, before the FIBA World Cup, but they have come this far, so I would not underestimate them despite facing the USA. I always consider that the USA lost to Lithuania, and with that in mind, I think I will be betting on Germany's moneyline and its handicap.

Additionally, I will just continue betting on the underdog, not because I believe Serbia is the stronger team, but because I'd like to see Brooks cry, LOL!

Yeah, if you have that spare and you are willing to take that high-risk bet for Germany, it's something that if upset takes place
you'll be the one that will going to smile.

The handicap is also interesting as -10.5 for someone who reaches this far, and with competitive players who can also play tough offense and defense.

Let see if how they will perform and how this tournament will be concluded and who will be the one that will advance to the finals.

Slava Ukraini!
I really would like to see Germany and Serbia reaching final, but logic tells that we won't see upsets in semifinals. Though, wins of Serbia and Germany probably wouldn't be biggest upset of tournament becauser both is really great teams. OK, USA completely destroyed Italy, but I'm not sure that's good indicator. While Serbia - Canada should be close, interesting that these teams never faced in offcial games.
Lithuania won against Slovenia quite easy. Maybe win by 16 points looks big, but in general, we had about 10 points lead most part of game. Now we will play with our brothers Latvia for 5th place. That moment when it doesn't matters that much who will win and we simply can enjoy good basketball.

Luka didn't have a problem with Canada's defense against him; his problem was that the referees' calls were not in their favor, or seemed biased. That really frustrated him. Even in the first half, he was already complaining. He was just lucky that his shots were sinking in; I believe he was 2/4 from the 3-point area in the first half. However, he really struggled big time in the second half. Luka was their best player, and when he got frustrated, everything seemed to fall against them.
I'm not really sure which ref calls can be called biased. Maybe my opinion won't be popular here, but Doncic & co are crying about referee too much and wasting too much energy on it, especially when game doesn't goes well for Slovenia

Germany is currently the only undefeated country in the world cup and are playing really good so if Schroder is on his top level i think they will surprise USA for sure. Serbia also playing good defence so Canada wont score point easily like they did against everyone

What a sweet ending for Canada but a disappointing end for Slovenia. It seems that all were counting for Luka but he just can't when the synchronization of Canada is way better than them. It's all blow for Canada and everyone contributed pretty well.
When I saw Luka drive and then pass the ball outside to Prepelic for a three-point shot which sank in, I thought they found a way for a new play. That might actually work if the chemistry is high but they have little time to practice for it. Slovenia needs another threat, it cannot be always Luka who will be the center of their plays, it's too readable.
Well, that seems to be showing that the team is reliant on him.

Moving forward, Slovenia is going to be against Lithuania while on the other side Italy against Latvia tomorrow.
No bearing game or was it for the rankings in the Olympics? I don't think they need that too as all of these teams left are going there.

Latvia already won against Italy. 87-82. I am out so I missed the game.

The next game I won't miss it and already have my popcorn ready. Now waiting for the Slovenia versus Lithuania game. I am having a hard time deciding on which team I want to bet for. Lithuania is the favorite @1.35. Slovenia is underdog @2.95.
The offer for Slovenia is so sweet I am drooling to take the money line again. Grin

Congratulations on your bets @YuginKadoya.
I only got Germany right, but the risk for Slovenia didn't hit. How I wish it did.
Lithuania won against Slovenia.
Did you bet on Slovenia on this match or you took the low odds for the Lithuania?

Speaking of Dillon, honestly I like how he has brought himself on this world tournament. The hate that he has made from the fans was still there but he's just enjoying it.

Yes, it was hard to see Luka got ejected, and as much as he tried to really lead his team, Canada has a lot of NBA players so they are really that good and they know how to disrupt Luka and it become a mind game between him and Dillon.

And we all know how Dillon works, he will try to get into your skin. Luka should have control his emotions though and as least be in the front whether win or lose. So with this win, the finals might look like what we have anticipated, Canada vs US.

Canada vs. Slovenia is up next. According to the bookies, Canada is the heavy favorite to win. But who among us here believes we're going to see an upset?

On the sportsbook I'm using, here are the odds:

Canada: 1.31 or -7.5
Slovenia: 3.65 or +7.5

Can Luka carry his team?

The game has started. Well, considering this is a do-or-die game and Slovenia is still a decent team, I think I would choose the handicap. Canada is probably the next best team after Team USA, but this is a big challenge for them. Let's see how they'll compete against Slovenia. If they win this game dominantly, it would prove they are ready for the next stage.

I'm rooting for LUKA! I hope he gets this big win.

Too bad for Luka; he got ejected from the game when they were down big. It was a mental game. Slovenia had a great start, but they lost their focus in the second half because they complained too much and played less. There's more physicality in FIBA compared to the NBA, so I understand why Luka was complaining, as he can easily draw fouls with his style of play in the NBA. However, this is different, and it's a quarter-finals game. He should have been more patient and continued to play hard to inspire his teammates.

Anyway, congratulations to Canada. They put in a great effort in the second half and secured a big win while also managing the spread for bettors.

We cannot blame him for acting that way because the referees have changed their tune during the second half and so he was unable to anticipate what could happen which eventually lead to an ejection. I know that it was a fair game and Luka's not really accustomed because FIBA is so much different compared to NBA, but I cannot deny that Canada deserved the win too. Now this means that they are now moving towards semifinals, right?

Serbia managed to occupy the sixth position in the FIBA World Ranking and all this success could not have been separated from the support of Nikola Jokic who also plays for the Nuggets in the NBA plus Milos Teodosic and also Aleksa who became the player with the highest score.
If you compare it with other teams Serbia does have the support factor of great players in it which other teams that compete in the FIBA championships every season cannot have but Serbia cannot just stick around or rely on one or two players to win and get used to team play without Mainstay players like Nikola Jokic must be done so that there is no reason to lose just because one core player is injured.
Not only in basketball but in other sports of course they will do the same thing with the aim of being able to play better with existing players.

Serbia had won the quarter final occurred six position in the table now. They made a good match against Lithuania as 87-68 which made the Lithuania not to close them till the end of the match.Serbia doesn’t have huge good player as compared to the Lithuania in the quarter final, but they managed with the good score nearer to 90 and stop the opponent to score 19 points less them was not easy task.Serbia was the star team like other team in the quarter final. Now they moved to the semi final which going to occur on September 8,the opponent is the strong team Canada.Germany and USA going to make this another semi final. The Germany and USA was two strong team in the one of the semifinal. If Serbia won Canada is enough to play on Final.

Sorry, Luka Doncic fans. It hurts. Cheesy Just kidding.

Well, to summarize it, Canada used all their weapons to win this game. RJ Barrett was hot, SGA doing his normal thing, and Alexander-Walker stepped up his game. While on the Slovenian side, there's Luka and Prepelic only, actually, it's mostly in the hands of Doncic.
The first half was fun very close game on that part and they ended it with a tie. Slovenia was playing with lots of energy and then the second half happened. 3rd quarter was all Canada, Barrett precisely. Then, the referees became aggressive at calling lots of fouls. There was a time in the fourth quarter when I thought Slovenia could try to come back but SGA quickly stopped the bleeding by an and1 and IMO, that's also the dagger that ended the game.

For sure Luka Doncic has done his all to win but still, it is not enough as Canada has some powerhouse aswell, and they also got the Dynasty sure he got ejected from the game because of his classic taunting this time on the crowd, and after his 2nd technical Luka Doncic also got ejected for sure it was a fun and great game to watch and I got to admit Dillon Brooks is funny in this game if it wasn't for the booing I think he will not retaliate from that taunting for sure,

The results of my picks for today's game,

Germany VS Latvia SCORE 81 - 79 - WIN

It was a close game for both these teams for sure Even though Latvia doesn't have any NBA players they managed to make a great game against Germany, but Germany has become a great team with Dennis Schroder and Franz Wagner on the team, for this game the Germany has managed to make a win against the Latvia, Dennis Schroder just manage to get 9 points, Wagner Moritz got 10 points Andres Orst got 13 and Franz Wagner got 16 points

Canada VS Slovenia SCORE 100 - 89 - WIN

This game was wild, Dillon Brooks got ejected because of taunting the crowd, and the crowd didn't like that so Brooks got ejected after a while Luka Doncic also got ejected because of the 2 technical fouls, and so the crowd went mild as their are so many fans of Luka Doncic that the Canadian team manage to win it without Luka Doncic, and so Walker Nickeil Alexander got 14 points Dillon "Dynasty" Brooks got 14, RJ Barrett got 24 points and Gilgeous-Alexander Shai,

As much as I'm rooting for Slovenia to win this one, no doubt that Canada is impressive and one of the best teams on this WC.

More or less expected results so far. Can anybody stop the USA-Canada final?
I feel Serbia with Jokić would trouble Canada, without him I just don't see it. USA should walk over Germany.

Although USA will be the favorites in their eventual final, I liked Canada's performances more so far.
That's most likely going be the finals on this one. It's just sad that Jokic didn't played for Serbia and the same goes for Murray to Canada.
