I feel Serbia with Jokić would trouble Canada, without him I just don't see it. USA should walk over Germany.

When Germany had +10 in 4th quarter, I was almost that's over, but Latvia don't give up so easy. And that last Bertans buzzer-beater - it was very close. It was just debut World Cup for Latvia, but they achieved much more than most of us expected. Congrats with Germany win. There is a reason why I don't like Slovenia. When game doesn't goes as they planned, they start to argue with referees too much. And today they wasted too much energy on it, instead of trying to make a comeback. Doncic, c'mon, you're leader of team and you leave your team alone in 4th quarter getting 2 technical fouls. And IMO, referees worked well today. What is pleasant surprise, considering that there is no Eurloeague referees and there was lot of scandals about referees work in previous FIBA torunaments. Would've loved to see an upset in this game but it is really hard to pull an upset especially if the team is nearly dependent on a single player. The main focus of the defense will be obviously on Luka Doncic. I remember when Luka was having a hard time converting his shots in the first half against Cape Verde, Slovenia also struggled. And against the Canadian favorites where it has a lot of options for their offense.
Big props to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, that was a very solid performance. Barely missed his shots except during the times when he tried for the threes. I won't be surprised if Canada wins this FIBA World Cup for the first time.

Too bad for Luka; he got ejected from the game when they were down big. It was a mental game. Slovenia had a great start, but they lost their focus in the second half because they complained too much and played less. There's more physicality in FIBA compared to the NBA, so I understand why Luka was complaining, as he can easily draw fouls with his style of play in the NBA. However, this is different, and it's a quarter-finals game. He should have been more patient and continued to play hard to inspire his teammates.

Thinking Canada vs the US in the finals. Would be a battle of 2 of the smaller teams in the tournament. I think that is possibly one of the worst outcomes for the US, as Canada's fromtcourt can play with US's. Would think at that point going inside to Jackson, Portis etc would be the gameplan.

It was always obvious that Serbia would do fine, Jokic is there, and him alone is good enough to beat other teams at this level, he the best player in the NBA right now, so obviously he will be better than anyone who is not even in the NBA, other sides only have 1-2 players in NBA who are not even that good, Serbia has one that is MVP of the greatest league in the world. All in all I would guess that it is going to be fine, and I think it should be considered that we could make it work one way or another.

Germany had some bad executions as they almost allowed Latvia to come back and beat them. They were in control with a double-digit lead, but they allowed a barrage of three-point shooting from their opponent, resulting in a comeback.
Speaking of Schröder, he may have had a bad game, but in most of the games they've won, I believe he was the real MVP. So, that's okay, mate. I know the coaching staff will learn from that. What's important is they still got the win. Just forget and improve; that's the best thing to do.

I will be tailing your bet on this one mate because I think Luka's magic will work here in Manila and to think that this Canadian team is vulnerable i think as their plays rely on talent, most of it were isolations (i might be wrong but that's what I saw).

Yeah, this is something that was unexpected and made a lot of people believe that every team is balanced and can win the World Cup. US has made an adjustment in the second half of that game but the lead was huge in the first half that they fell short but nevertheless, it was a good learning experience for them playing against a European team.
These recent game were so unpredictable, Italy beat Serbia while Serbia was blowing out Lithuania for the finals contention while the odds for US vs Italy is so juicy if you are rooting for the Italians to upset the US in the next couple of hours.
