Yeah, I agree with you here. England is alright but I don't think they will end up winning the world cup. Argentina, Brazil, Germany, France, Spain, from the top of my head, are better than England in my view.

England is overhyped and we saw this during the Euro Cup. They have a few overrated (and arrogant) players who never live up to the expectations. BBC and the other British media give an impression that they are the best in the world, but the reality is entirely different. At this point, I believe that Argentina and Brazil are ahead of the rest by a big margin. And among the European teams, in my opinion Spain ranks higher than others such as England, France, Netherlands and Germany.

Argentina suddenly seems to have shot up again. What are those odds based on? It doesn't surprise me that Brazil and France are the favourites, but I think England is slightly overrated. okay, they made it to the final of the European championship and almost became european champions. Brazil was of course not one of them and moreover they were allowed to play all matches at home because the European Championship was organized in England. They have great football players but as a team I find it disappointing and they have an inexperienced and mediocre coach. You won't make it with that. I think Argentina, for example, is already better than England.

Benzema is more mature and I am sure that he will handle the situation. But disappointing from the part of Mbappe. Despite all the controvery in Euro Cup, he still hasn't learnt his lesson. At this point he can afford to do that because there is no chance that the coach will get angry and kick him out of the team. But in the long term he needs to change his attitude. If he is not passing the ball to others, then the other players may also do the same to him. In the end it will negatively impact the chances of the team.
Here France is surely a strong contender for this event, and they have a wealthy team which can do much better without Mbappé, so here they need to give him a lesson because his inclusion is not positive for rest of the team.
With this all if Didier Descamps dropped him from team for World Cup then surely he can take his lessons for future and this could be beneficial for France in this event and future as well because right now he is young and have attitude which is not helping his team for better results.

Most of the time he doesn't like passing which is surely not good in team event as after this other players also do the same which hurt overall team performance in this all case right now they have time for taking good decision for their team.

France is a very good contender for the World Cup again in my opinion. But till now what I have been hearing is that Argentina has improved a lot. At least they have improved significantly since the last time they have taken part in any international tournament. But even though I said that France is still a good contender, they did not perform well in the UEFA nations league. Actually, people don’t even care about the UEFA Nations league but that’s another story.

I have never doubted the talent that mbappe has either at the club or in his international career. he is a young star who has had a brilliant career. however, he has an attitude that we could call selfish.
This problem is often a dispute between the players both at the club and for the French squad. that's why i wouldn't say that france is on another level, in some games they are playing badly, their form is not so good. but I believe Didier Descamps has a way to make the French squad even more solid.

speaking of germany, so far germany has always been a favorite squad in every four-year soccer sporting event. this time they have a very tough job as some other countries are more favourites.
on the other hand, argentina is more ready to face the qatar world cup tournament, they are one of the strongest candidates in this tournament.

You're missing Brazil in that analysis, I think it's probably going to be the winner of this world cup.

It's the team that has won the cup more times than any other team in history, Germany is close to that record though.

It will definitely be entertaining, that's for sure

no, i don't involve brazil in that context.
Of course Brazil did not escape our attention, they are the favorite squad than the squad I mentioned before. Brazil's squad statistics are impressive, they have talented young players, that's why they are the most favorite squad candidates. however, nevertheless I still favor Argentina in this world cup, even though I know statistically Brazil is better than Argentina. but as I have said many times, in football anything can happen.

With Benzema back in the national team, I think he will be able to put Mbappe in his place and motivate him to play for the team and not just for himself. Benzema is a big authority and everyone has seen on social media that he is tough with Mbappe without hypocrisy or unnecessary softness. If Mbappe is even a little smart, he will be able to subdue his pride and play less selfishly than, for example, in the last game against Monaco, where he seemed to have not made a single pass in attack.

This guy is very overrated while his attitude is very bad, he seems to be mad when Messi didn't pass to him and he's thinking if he's the only striker on PSG. Mbappe is a selfish person, one player can't beat the whole 11 complete players, so I don't think Mbappe will give a good contribution. I hope his career will gloomy and it will force him to focus to get international trophy rather than just for money.

Germany, Brazil and Costa Rica could be a champion in this year world cup, who knows right?

Not so sure about Costa Rica though  Grin

I mean, maybe they get lucky in one match, maybe two. But winning the world cup requires luck and also being a strong team. You can't just win the tournament based on luck alone.

Brazil is one of the strongest teams right now, but there are quite a few other great ones as well.

I think Germany deserves to be superior at this time because their squad is more qualified and experienced, but for some reason I think if Spain this year might surprise us, even though they are no longer strengthened by the previous great players like in the cup world 2010, but the young squad owned by spain at the moment is of course quite potential and Is not that they able to reach the semifinals of euro 2020 by simply on the young squad?

Both teams are really good. This is the biggest advantage of more experienced Germany. However, when they face a big team like Spain, these matches become equal for both teams. Spain can play with all its might against Germany and beat the Germans. They have individually talented players and they play well as a team. Germany, on the other hand, gives an example of a disciplined team. Tournaments are where the Germans are most successful.

I believe that any team has a chance to take it home when we talk about the superstars. Germany has a fighting spirit. Argentina has the technique. But when you look at France I think they are on another level. They are the favorite for me especially with Mbappe. He has shown that he can decide a game and I think he will prove that again!
Both countries will definitely prove their prowess since the group stage later, I think both of them will be able to easily qualify for the next round because the other team probably won't be able to make it difficult for them later, the competition between the two will still be tight for the first place in the group so they can get easier opponents, frankly for this year, I personally see spain have more potential because the quality of players is evenly distributed, while germany maybe their golden era is now almost over because of their many core players has old and of course it will affect their performance.

Argentina and Germany are surely solid teams for this event, and we can expect good results from them because we all know they have enough quality and skill players those can do magics in this event, and we can expect surprises as well France is the most comprehensive team in this event, but their biggest issue is inner politics specially players personal differences which can hurt them badly specially right now star kid Mbappé is under criticism for his attitude specially in club, and we can expect things like this from him in world cup as well which is never been ideal for French team and their chances into this event.

Here we have the biggest test of French coach Didier Descamps because if you need positive results then surely he has to done few stick decisions which are important for them if Mbappé is not going to change his attitude then surely they need to go with Karim Benzema instead of relaying on Mbappé which is currently having many issues with other players in all level games.

Oh!!! Shocked Shocked My bad, it has totally escaped my mind. It is true that Italy lost to North Macedonia in March. A lot is on my head, so it is allowed. My preferences are now between Germany and Spain, while Germany is still my first choice. I have updated this in my first post. Thanks!

I believe in Benzema but not Mbappe, for some reason I have seen several times when I have seen the player still not able to show his maturity and professionalism. I have no doubts that Mbappe is a talented player, but as long as he doesn't throw away his selfishness I'm not sure he will get any better in the future.

Agreed on Kylian Mbappe. As we have seen in the Euro cup, one of the allegations levelled by the mother of Adrien Rabiot was that both Mbappe and Pogba are selfish and doesn't pass around the ball a lot. Team bonding doesn't seems to be very good in the French team. And after all this drama, do you really think that Mbappe and Rabiot will be able to play as a team in Qatar? Karim Benzema is a class apart. He is 100% professional and know how to prioritize his team needs over his.
There is a lot at stake, so any athlete will have to follow clear instructions from the coaching staff... And the national team is not made up of the underdogs, it's made up of top class professionals... Therefore, I am sure Mbappe will be able to perform well in this World Cup and show what he can do...

On paper, Germany and Spain can be said to be the seeded teams in Group E. However, anything can happen in football.  Likewise, Japan and Costa Rica are ready to block the journey of Germany and Spain in the group stage of this World Cup.
Hansi Flick's squad is filled with experienced players and young players such as Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich, and Manuel Neur, they have a fairly even squad depth in all lines.

On the other hand, Luis Enrique's squad is filled with experienced players and quality young players with an average age of 25 years, one of which is Ansu Fati who is a very talented young player.  In the last meeting between Spain and Germany, the German squad was defeated by a score of 6-0 in the UEFA Nations League match.
despite all that, after all Germany and Spain are tough opponents in the world cup this time, however, another squad is more favored to be a candidate for the 2022 world cup champion.
Japan is in a very hot group, namely Group E, in which there are strong teams, namely Germany and Spain. and I agree that in this group the most superior are Germany and Spain. I, as a Japanese supporter, don't expect too much that Japan will win. but i don't really know about costa rica are they strong? I hope that even if Japan loses, then at least South Korea should be able to win even though the team they are fighting in Group H is strong enough. i.e. there is portugal, ghana and uruguay there.

I wouldn't write Japan off completely, although they are indeed in a very tough group.
Do you remember how much trouble Belgium had in the match against them at the last World Cup in Russia? I have a feeling that they could surprise someone at this world championship as well. This is a very talented and experienced national team that regularly participates in world championships.
Costa Rica has a history of very good performances at the world championships, sometimes they managed to pass the group and make it to the knockout stage of the competition, but I don't know how strong they are as a team right now.
South Korea are also in a very tough group at the World Cup and they have little chance of winning one of the top two spots in the group. Portugal and Uruguay are the obvious favorites in that group, but Ghana will be a very tough opponent for everyone.

France's team is looking amazing so far, at least just their attack, Benzima and Mbappe are doing crazy stuff with their clubs by scoring multiple goals and leading their teams to win, with what they have right now they should be favorites to win the world cup but Brazil is, they also have Vinicius Jr and Neymar who both are doing good as well so it makes sense, a match between Brazil and France would be spectacular in the world cup.

Benzema and Mbappe are among world's best, but I have doubts regarding Pogba. It is still not clear whether he will be able to take part in this edition of the world cup. His (possible) absence will be difficult to fill in the midfield, and may put more pressure on players such as N'Golo Kanté and Adrien Rabiot. Compared to forward and defense, mid-field is relatively weak for France. Thomas Lemar is being talked about as a possible replacement for Pogba in case the latter is unable to play. Let's see how he performs in Qatar.
