I would even take a bet and say that Neuer will still be playing in four years from now! I don't know whether he would still be the first goalkeeper at the next World Cup, but I do believe that he will still be an active professional goalkeeper.

I have to agree with you, as since 2019 I have seen news that Bayern would be looking for another goalkeeper to replace Neuer after his retirement, but that never happens. In fact news about Neuer's retirement dates back to 2016.
But, on the contrary... Neuer is still active and being one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
Regarding injuries, goalkeepers have a low risk for this, one more reason to believe that Neuer will continue for a few more years.

Neuer didn't have any serious injuries at all. If that was the case I would be rather inclined to say that it might soon be the end of his career, but if he can keep competing on the highest level possible with Bayern Munich, why would or should he stop playing?

The fact that he will be playing for the most important titles year after year also will keep him incredibly fit for another couple of years. It would really need a fundamental reason to not make him the number 1 anymore.

Flick is also counting on him. If he is playing in the German national team he will also be playing for Bayern. Can't see why that would change soon despite his age right now.

I still don't understand why they are betting on Spain when she almost missed out on this World Cup, it only entered the playoffs and with great difficulty.
Anyway... Germany is a good bet, but I still believe that Brazil has a great chance of winning this year, because it had an impeccable campaign in the qualifiers and has a very young and competent team... It's not just Neymar's team..
Germany do have talented players and are in good form, but the French national team remains the favorite to win, because almost every line they have has talented and important players in their team.

Oh!!! Shocked Shocked My bad, it has totally escaped my mind. It is true that Italy lost to North Macedonia in March. A lot is on my head, so it is allowed. My preferences are now between Germany and Spain, while Germany is still my first choice. I have updated this in my first post. Thanks!

FIFA World cup 2022 will be interesting. It will be like a thug of war. Just that my favourite club, Nigerian
Super Eagle has been nocked out in the Qatar qualifiers stage. But i am still hoping to support another club (Country) in the tournament. Preferably, African club, but what I am afraid of is the referees. World cup referees are not friendly with the African Teams. That not withstanding, fair play can bring out the best in the world cup. European clubs, Asian clubs and African clubs are my prediction to win the world cup.
On your own prediction, whom do you think will win the tournament and carry the Golden Cup? Remember every country's plan is to win the world cup tournament but not every team will win and the three (3) best will be selected. And that should be:

1st winner
2nd winner and
3rd Winner.

Say your mind.
The winner of the 2022 FIFA world cup is between Germany, Spain, and Italy, and my preferences are with the hierarchy I wrote them. I am glad that this list made the poll on this thread, which makes it more assured because the players in the counties are the best in the world. I support Germany to be the winner, Spain to be the second and Italy to be the third. Both Spain and Italy could switch sides too, it does not matter. Germany has it so poor and lucky in the last world cup despite having the best players. They must have learned their lessons and given a fierce fight this time.

And...the winner is... Huh , Italy is not in this World Cup, so it is, so to speak, zero probability, although their other options are good odds.

FIFA have advanced the opening by a day. According to the new schedule the opening is on November 20 at Al Bayt Stadium. Host country Qatar will play against Ecuador on the opening match. This is mentioned to be a rare change that isn't done in the past. 20th November falls on Sunday which seems like a good choice, so that everyone around the world can enjoy watching.

I think Sunday is a good choice, but I think it's very wrong to have decided to move this forward with so little time left for the event to start.
I'm sure a lot of people had already programmed themselves for the beginning of the games and now they will have a big problem to readjust...
I'm not just talking about the players, but everyone who will be involved in some way with this event.
Well, the truth is that it doesn't look so bad to me, we are already in a month that we are almost entering September, there is very little left, and it is a matter of time until November arrives, the game between Ecuadra and Qatar seems interesting to me, since I had seen a lot enthusiasm of the Ecuadorians after overcoming everything that this team had to go through in the face of the demands made by Chile, this is something that produces a certain lack of control in many, however, on a Sunday it does not seem so bad to me, I know that the beginnings of the World Cups were in June, they always started on June 13, 14, well maybe I don't remember very well, but this guarantees that we will have a World Cup with Christmas looks, this will be exciting.

especially Brazil which is predicted to be more favorited than Argentina, Brazil's performance is very solid in each of their last matches and is filled with very talented players. but i hope more for argentina who will lift the world cup trophy this year. however, the journey of argentina and brazil is not as easy as we expected. in fact, there are teams from other countries who are also favorites as champion candidates.

Several European teams are strong contenders in the race for the World Cup champion trophy, Belgium, England, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany, France, which may stop Brazil and Argentina's journey to the next phase.
especially france, although at the moment france is in a bad form but they have a very talented depth of play.
Well, there are only a few months left for the World Cup to be held and this tournament will be very interesting for us to look forward to.
Argentina with a world cup title before Messi retires would be something very special. He is lacking only that one title, if he gets that as well then I do not think that anyone in the world would ever dispute the fact that he is the best player that ever played.

Ronaldo and Messi has been the best players in the world for a while and probably in history as well and that's the thing about this competition, neither have one and I believe that we shouldn't really be expecting any of them win normally neither, it means that we will probably not see either of them win it, but if Messi does this year which he has the biggest chance and probably never again.
You are right, it would be great if Messi or CR7 could win the FIFA World Cup, Messi has let this cup go once already, and that is something that affected him a lot, instead CR7 would not waste an opportunity like that, Although the player now has a lot of problems in the team he is in, I think Portugal can also do a great job, honestly, another team that can give a surprise is Brazil, for me personally I see Germany as very strong, I think they can put on a great show, another thing, I think England has had a lot of criticism, but that team is to be feared, to be respected, that team is also a special candidate.

For the World Cup in this year, maybe especially Brazil and Argentina can be successful. They both have solid game strategies and efforts recently. At least one of them has the potential to reach the finale and that team might be Brazil.

Messi and Ronaldo are still icons of world football. Although now their performance is declining in each of the teams they defend. But his appearance is still awaited by most football lovers. Moreover, this is a World Cup where these two players have never lifted the trophy of the biggest party in football. Not only that, disputes between two fans still occur, especially on social media, both fans are still comparing who is better between the two even though there are now many talented young players born.
Even if these two have retired, that won't erase the fact that they are once an icon in the football industry, the same as with Muhammad Ali in boxing. Even if he isn't active in that said sport anymore his names are still everywhere and being talked about up until now. It is normal for their performance to decline over the years because they are only a human and they grow old too where their ability can deteriorate.

The time will come that they will be replaced by a much younger and more skilled player although it is not easy for them to be in the level of those legends that we know. They need to practice and have more experience.

It is the "World Cup" but we haven't seen any team out of Europe to become the winner of the title for so many years. The last year it happened was 2002 in which Brazil won the cup. Just think about it there have been twenty years since that time. This shows how much Brazil and Argentina especially were away from their performances in the old times. These two teams were accustomed to being the champions quite often before the 2002 World Cup. It was even under the domination of South American countries much before. But football has changed too much after a certain point and they've been left behind by European teams.

For the World Cup in this year, maybe especially Brazil and Argentina can be successful. They both have solid game strategies and efforts recently. At least one of them has the potential to reach the finale and that team might be Brazil.

@Sithara007 I too was baffled to read when he chose to put Italy for a contender, and either he believed the rumours or he hasn’t been updated with who qualified for the World Cup. Lastly I feel that you’re right because these two teams are no longer considered dangerous like they were in the past, hence we should consider wagering on them only if odds are good and if they show decent form in their previous matches.

I already asked to op in this post: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.60806588 to update the squads of the poll and put the favorites to win.
I believe soon or later he'll update, he's active in here, or I'll try to reach him by PM

The user above saw the first post and probably forgot about Italy  Cheesy

@EarnOnVictor - if you enter on a thread with a lot of pages, it's better to read the last ones too, you'll be updated about the subject

Historically, UEFA teams have fared poorly when the tournament is held outside Europe. And despite that you have chosen Germany and Spain to be the winners are runners-up. And I really don't understand how Italy comes in the picture. For heaven's sake they haven't even qualified for the world cup. There was some discussion on Ecuador getting disqualified and Italy entering the world cup as replacement. But FIFA has rubbished such claims. And I am sure that it will be tough for Germany and Spain to progress to the semi-finals stage.

there are a lot of talented young players at the moment, they are very good at their level. has extraordinary talent skills but until now, there has not been a star player who is truly on the same level as the two megastars.
It's a pity that these two megastars have never lifted the most prestigious championship trophy in the world football competition tournament.
Even so, it doesn't mean that Messi and Ronaldo's performance has decreased drastically, this season, Messi is still considered excellent, he can score goals while defending the PSG squad as well as the assists he gives to his teammates. another fate was different for ronaldo, ronaldo's contribution was needed in the man united squad, but a strong desire to change clubs, made his performance look declining.
However, the Qatar World Cup schedule still leaves a lot of time for them and other country squads to improve and improve the performance of each player.

Yeah, goalkeepers tend to have a longer career because they are not as physically active in the entire 90 minutes of every match. I'm still surprised to see many players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi still at almost their peak even though they are pretty old for football standards. I guess science and technology these days help to keep them active for longer.

Well.. that is surprising, because I always thought that the job of goalkeeper was a lot more demanding. It is very stressful and requires a lot of physical activity. And almost everytime, they are not given due credit. There have been some legendary goalkeepers in the past, such as Peter Schmeichel and Carlos Valderrama. But they are not given the same amount of respect, as given to forwards such as Diego Maradona and Zinedine Zidane. Anyway, this is just my personal opinion and others may not agree with me.

The ones who are better known and have high prestige are always strikers who score a lot of goals and some fans forget the services of a goalkeeper. The goalkeeper is the last defense to block the ball into the goal. Some of the best goalkeepers in 2022 include Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid, Manuel Neuer from Germany, Marc-Andre ter Stegen from Barcelona. they are heroes at the back and need to get the credit they deserve.

Keep in mind though that there have always been exceptions especially when it comes to the goalkeeper position. Buffon and other keepers have been around their forties or close to it and still participated in the big tournaments. I can see Neuer still being around in four years from now. Maybe he isn't first choice anymore by then, but he could still be a part of the team. That might also be the case for Muller, but it all comes down to their physical fitness and whether they are still playing by then anyway. But yes, this World Cup will be the last one for some of the GOATs. Hopefully we can enjoy some strong performances by Messi, Ronaldo and all the rest.
Here, we have nothing new because it's going into cycle many great players now in history books with their play and achievements so same going to happen with these legendary players as well because no one can stop time span and these players from coming older as we lost them surely we will have many new names even many are under development, but few are giving their best like Mbappé, Neymar and Haaland they could be new players to talk about and having something good for new generation kids.

Messi and Ronaldo were unique as we watch them for many years, and now it's time for them to give up and replaced with new ones, so we feel they are the greatest player in soccer history even we have too many names and performances from many legendary players in past as well.

Most chances Neuer are not going to stay here for next four years because he is not like we have Buffon or few others those give their best until age of 40 most chances he will be replaced soon with some better one.

I would even take a bet and say that Neuer will still be playing in four years from now! I don't know whether he would still be the first goalkeeper at the next World Cup, but I do believe that he will still be an active professional goalkeeper.

I think we have seen a real epoch in sports. In soccer as well as elsewhere. I really doubt that we will anytime soon be witnessing two players that in 12 out of 13 years win the world soccer player title. Messi and Ronaldo won it in 10 consecutive years. That is just hard to imagine even when there is Mbappe and Haaland out there right now. There were so many factors involved, not least the fact that Ronaldo and Messi stayed healthy all the time. It just needs one major injury and you can't win the trophy anymore during a particular season or maybe even two seasons. They didn't have those injuries and they scored like monsters nonstop. I think that was one example that could go down in history as once in a lifetime from a spectator's point of view.
