France's team is looking amazing so far, at least just their attack, Benzima and Mbappe are doing crazy stuff with their clubs by scoring multiple goals and leading their teams to win, with what they have right now they should be favorites to win the world cup but Brazil is, they also have Vinicius Jr and Neymar who both are doing good as well so it makes sense, a match between Brazil and France would be spectacular in the world cup.

Benzema and Mbappe are among world's best, but I have doubts regarding Pogba. It is still not clear whether he will be able to take part in this edition of the world cup. His (possible) absence will be difficult to fill in the midfield, and may put more pressure on players such as N'Golo Kanté and Adrien Rabiot. Compared to forward and defense, mid-field is relatively weak for France. Thomas Lemar is being talked about as a possible replacement for Pogba in case the latter is unable to play. Let's see how he performs in Qatar.
I think pogba will still contribute to this world cup even though he is injured and may not be able to play full time because reportedly he decided not to have surgery in order to contribute to this world cup, so I'm sure Pogba will still be on the pitch and provide support full to his team to keep fighting spirit to win.

@TopT3ns as per the last update Pogba was undergoing therapy which was going very well for him, and that means he’ll most likely be available for the World Cup. However as a football fan we all should know that when a player hasn’t played for long time he’s bound to be rusty, and now that it looks he’ll be available I personally feel that he may turn to be a liability then an asset for the team due to his lack of playing time.

Still two months later for FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar held but France faced several problem with Paul Pogba got injury with his new club Juventus, I doubt with Paul Pogba can participants and France team squad for this World Cup. I think France not really faced problem with attacking line after Karim Benzema and Mbappe have consistent performance, but the problem in midfielder area. Losing N'Golo Kanté tandem as Paul Pogba make France manager should looking who can replace position leaving by Paul Pogba. Talking about Thomas Lemar is not midfielder player typical and he always play as winger position with Atletico Madrid, maybe Adrien Rabiot could be alternative midfielder replacing position from Paul Pogba.

Mappe has shown that he can decide games like against Real Madrid. But thinking about Haaland like a couple of years from now, it is going to be insane. The  guy is a crazy machine. He doesn't even look like he would be scoring all the time, but he does. He is so fast and he doesn't think for long, he just finishes, he is a better version of many central offenders that we have ever seen!

I still don't understand why they are betting on Spain when she almost missed out on this World Cup, it only entered the playoffs and with great difficulty.
Anyway... Germany is a good bet, but I still believe that Brazil has a great chance of winning this year, because it had an impeccable campaign in the qualifiers and has a very young and competent team... It's not just Neymar's team..

Any of the teams that have already won a World Cup is automatically a favorite, perhaps not with the best odds, even regardless of whether the qualifying phase was pathetic, it does not matter! they are always candidates, it is a select group of national teams who have won the world cup, that allows them to be above even some better teams but they already know how to win a world cup in just one month and 7 games, so in reality you only need to win the last one game.

To me Senegal can retain back the trophy, their performance in the recent Afcon and world cup qualifiers was outstanding. Though Nigeria recently have the best squad in Africa, but I don't see them winning the trophy, Senegal are more focused than Nigeria during game play, their recent bears it out.
This is world cup, their are good teams that are better than Senegal in performance that won't be easy for them to win trophies.  I know Senegal will do very well when the world cup start but not think of win the trophies.

In my view I think Germany vs Spain will be like the preview of the world cup final.

Whoever ends up winning that match will more likely end up winning the entire thing.

Funnily enough I think it might be possible for those two to meet again in their way to the cup.
hmm... Could this really happen?
Germany and Spain are excellent teams, but can something unusual happen until the final of this world cup? For example some of these teams lose?

I have no doubt, but probable can happen some teams that will surprise everyone!
But I still imagine the teams that are in the voting poll are the most plausible to win.
As said surprises too can happen. In the previous World Cup Mexico gave a surprise win against Germany. By that time Germany was the defending champions. So, we can't make any kind of early predictions. This time I expect some small teams to make surprise that can make the league matches more interesting.

I think Germany deserves to be superior at this time because their squad is more qualified and experienced, but for some reason I think if Spain this year might surprise us, even though they are no longer strengthened by the previous great players like in the cup world 2010, but the young squad owned by spain at the moment is of course quite potential and Is not that they able to reach the semifinals of euro 2020 by simply on the young squad?
Both teams are really good. This is the biggest advantage of more experienced Germany. However, when they face a big team like Spain, these matches become equal for both teams. Spain can play with all its might against Germany and beat the Germans. They have individually talented players and they play well as a team. Germany, on the other hand, gives an example of a disciplined team. Tournaments are where the Germans are most successful.
Right now, quality is amazing in all top class European countries, and they can give good performance for having unbelievable results because we already have history of results like this in many events. Germany is better side and with the combination of experienced and new players we can expect something big from them because they are mostly performed good when they are not in favorite frame and right now things are going into their favor even France, Brazil and Argentina are much better in quality, but German's can give them shock in any game with their quality as we watch them in Brazil they have done historic performance against all odds and ruined host nation Brazil which is still in historical books.

Wondering why do you have Italy on the list. They are out of the tournament long ago. How would they be playing in 2022 final LOL? I guess you have forgotten to edit the pool; haven’t looked back in the last few months since the qualification?

OP created the thread April 02, 2022
Italy lost to North Macedonia in April 24, this is the reason

I already asked to change the poll: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.60806588
Soon or later OP will change for the qualified squads because he's active here in gambling section  Cheesy

Until the match against North Macedonia, I was confident about Italy too hahaha, who could imagine Italy out of World Cup after won the Euro?

On paper, Germany and Spain can be said to be the seeded teams in Group E. However, anything can happen in football.  Likewise, Japan and Costa Rica are ready to block the journey of Germany and Spain in the group stage of this World Cup.
Hansi Flick's squad is filled with experienced players and young players such as Serge Gnabry, Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich, and Manuel Neur, they have a fairly even squad depth in all lines.

On the other hand, Luis Enrique's squad is filled with experienced players and quality young players with an average age of 25 years, one of which is Ansu Fati who is a very talented young player.  In the last meeting between Spain and Germany, the German squad was defeated by a score of 6-0 in the UEFA Nations League match.
despite all that, after all Germany and Spain are tough opponents in the world cup this time, however, another squad is more favored to be a candidate for the 2022 world cup champion.

Oh!!! Shocked Shocked My bad, it has totally escaped my mind. It is true that Italy lost to North Macedonia in March. A lot is on my head, so it is allowed. My preferences are now between Germany and Spain, while Germany is still my first choice. I have updated this in my first post. Thanks!

Well, without a doubt, stars should appear in the style of CR7 and Messi, for now Haaland and Mbappé are appearing, although for me Haaland is much better than Mbappé, this without a doubt I think that in the World Cup we will meet more young and emerging stars, that It is what is expected in theory and Real Madrid knows it, like Barcelona and the clubs in Europe, it is a pity that Italy is not in the World Cup in Sweden, of those countries there are many promises that do not have the opportunity to have visualization, but surely at some point they will be announced, that is something that is fulfilled, at the end of 1-2 years, we will have more stars, of that I am sure.
As for me, player stars are everywhere, you will virtually see no country where there are no two or three special star players, so Mbappé, Messi, C.Ronaldo and others would do their part but the entire formation of the team matters to me. When it comes to the country that has the set of squared combinations, I give it to Germany my friend, I only hope luck is also on their side this time. Italy would have tried too as they play quality football, but their lackadaisical attitude against North Macedonia has cost them a big defeat.
Soon the world cup event will start, most likely this year will be the last year for star players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi and Lewandowski, because they are not young anymore, but I am very sure at the world cup event there will be many players emerging talented young replacements for their seniors, from Spain there may be the name Ansu Fati, no doubt the name Ansu Fati will be a mainstay of the Spanish national team in Qatar, Vinicius from Brazil and many other names such as Eduardo Camavinga and Phil Foden who are wingers who defend Manchester City. .

Messi and Ronaldo are still icons of world football. Although now their performance is declining in each of the teams they defend. But his appearance is still awaited by most football lovers. Moreover, this is a World Cup where these two players have never lifted the trophy of the biggest party in football. Not only that, disputes between two fans still occur, especially on social media, both fans are still comparing who is better between the two even though there are now many talented young players born.
Even if these two have retired, that won't erase the fact that they are once an icon in the football industry, the same as with Muhammad Ali in boxing. Even if he isn't active in that said sport anymore his names are still everywhere and being talked about up until now. It is normal for their performance to decline over the years because they are only a human and they grow old too where their ability can deteriorate.

The time will come that they will be replaced by a much younger and more skilled player although it is not easy for them to be in the level of those legends that we know. They need to practice and have more experience.

It is very true, I think that at this time it is very difficult for players like them to come out, for now the new generation is not at that level, we will wait another 3 or 4 years to see if the next generations of relief present us with football more colorful, here in our current time we not only have Messi and CR7, we cannot forget Neymar, Salah, they are players who score in some way, Modric himself and Lewandowski, these are very good world figures, and years ago I I really liked the generation that was there, Totti, Nakata, Zidane, Ronaldo, Vieri the bull, Inzaghi, Luis Figo, and after them came Ronaldinho, Messi, CR7, and more, but those who are promising now like Mbappé, Haaland They do not meet my expectations.

There is a possibility that Portugal and Argentina could play in the finals, just like almost most world cups. Which is why I am still holding out hope one last time, I know that 4 years from now it would be quite difficult for Ronaldo to be the striker for Portugal, and maybe Messi won't be there as well. This means this is the last time that we are going to see Argentina and Portugal having a chance of finals against each other to see these two giants.

I know that Argentina does have a chance but Portugal doesn't and they are given low odds but I just hope some pure luck and something happens and we watch that. I guarantee you, in ANY combination of finals, that would be the most viewed finals ever.

Portugal and Argentina had great players before Messi and Ronaldo, and they will have them after them too, don't worry  Grin
You are too young to remember Eusebio, but he was the best footballer in the world in his time, better than Messi and Ronaldo, and with him the Portuguese national team was very strong.
And what can we say about Kempes who brought Argentina the title of world champion in 1978 or Maradona who managed to do it with Argentina in 1986?
I'm sure that even after Messi and Ronaldo, new great footballers will appear in Portugal and Argentina and that we will see the two national teams again in the finals of world competitions.

Eusebio was better than Messi and Ronaldo? What are you referring to? And how does that even look like? When Messi makes soccer look as easy as one could ever imagine it to be, how did Eusebio make it look even easier?

I think it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to argue that Eusebio was better. What makes sense though is when someone says times were different and at that specific time player X was the best in the world. I doubt that Eusebio would have ever had better stats these days than Messi if they played at the same time.

I also don't think that a World Cup title decides whether you are a good player or not. When you are born into a county that simply can't win the title, does that automatically mean that you can't be a good player?

It is often hard to tell when you have two players like Mbappe and Haaland whether one is really much better than the other. A major difference between the two is that Haaland comes across as more down to earth and wants the success no matter what. His mind is focused solely on the game and on nothing else. You can literally see it when he is trying to score, while Mbappe often lacks the extra bit of motivation. It will be a lot of fun to have Haaland around for many years.
