If you're using a brick, take it easy. If you've got a decent PSU on the PCIe connector, well, just don't burn the miner up. I've had test units run almost 900MHz.

That sounds pretty good.  I wouldn't go over 750Mhz though, per sidehacks suggestion.

The old versions I have are 4.11.1 363d879 and 7f04144

Likely what vh gave me with the demo a little over a year ago now. Looks the like the second version above after I took "--gekko-noboost" out of the batch file is moves up closer to 800Gh/s far 25min in.

Again, original demo usb 2.0 on my 10 year old laptop running windows10. freq 800, V setting 5.

These R606's are the best he's got so far, but judging by each iteration of miner he produces the next will be a lot better (if he makes a 500w miner, which I hope he does as my space heater project isn't that efficient, even for a space heater  Grin)

Which 500watt miner by sidehack are you referring to if you don't mind me asking. I am new to this type of hack of asics and would like to know if it is better than these terminus R606.

Regards to you MoparMiningLLC. Smiley

its just one that sidehack has mentioned as a possible project (same guy that did the terminus r606) - I do not think  there is anything set in stone. I only stated that the psu will have enough spare wattage to power one if he does eventually do it.

The 1000 watt psu came today - currently running two R606's and 1 Apollo off of it - and still enough power for when Sidehack gets that 500 watt miner done...

This is on windows10?

Uh, no.  That's on his Pi 4.

With the latest cgminer I was only getting about 500+ Gh..

On the 85f build I was getting 736Ghs on P/L 4 at 562.5Mhz.  Not too bad actually.  That was on Win7.

getting just shy of 1 th/s on each on setting 6 and 715-730 mhz...

With the latest cgminer I was only getting about 500+ Gh. The older cgminers are on my laptop so I plugged it in there. Will give it. A few hours and see. I have a couple old versions. We’ll see what works best. On the laptop and maybe try that one on the desktop since it’s attached to the psu there.

I recall it running 800-900GH when I last had it running, I just don't have the batch file anymore. I do know it was running on cgminer 4.11.1 7f04144 at the time. Still yes, was very temperamental on windows 10.

That's not in the list of CGMiners supporting the R606.  Did you get a special build?

The one that worked best for me on Win7 was a62385f, if I remember right.  Never got to 900Ghs though.

yea it sucks on windows - I was averaging 745-750 gh/s - did not change any miner settings - moved it to linux on a raspberry pi 4 and its now at or just under 1 th/s for each of them. they run flawlessly.

By "windowx" I assume you mean Windblows 10.  I'm pretty sure everyone abandoned that mess finally and went to the Pi 4.

I would set it to Power Level 4 at 550Mzh and let CGMiner tune it to whatever it will do and let it go.  It will be less than 750Ghs, I'm pretty sure.

Good Luck

Nice! I just pulled out my pc for dusting and added my r606 tester we got pre launch and have it up and running.

It's a windowx os, wondering what setting people are using on this os.

agreed! I have 2 R606's on my desk Smiley and a 1000 watt psu on it's way to power both - will have enough power left over to do the 500 watt miner, if you make it Smiley

the miners are happily running.

I've got some ideas, yeah. Still figuring out which chip to use, but improving control systems is a separarate arm of development and so can be done anytime. May also have to beef the main regulator. Right now I've got like six other non-miner projects in progress so I can't really say when anything will be getting done, but I'd like to be shipping at least a new stick this calendary year.

Yes please!  Smiley
