How about you post your giveaway thread to cryptogiveaways.com (not up and running yet) and then you link to it from the Alt section? This new forum could be the wild west of giveaways. If anyone is interested in participating PM me.
How many altcoins are there out there now?
I had counted around 600 until I gave up about two weeks ago. The number may be slightly skewed, as I was just counting names that I hadn't heard before, and didn't investigate further to find out if some of the coins were jokes and never actually released.
My guess would be between 500 and 700 actually exist or have existed.

I like the subforum idea. Alts have a useful place especially with newbies because
it's very discouraging to earn like 0.0003 BTC per week or even per day. It helps
newbies understand the roots of bitcoin and experience the thrill of finding blocks
like all you oldtimers got to enjoy. Do you really forget those days?

Good call. These coin devs can give away their own premined coins on their own websites.
Last thing i want is the altcoin section to bring instability to the entire site.
This place is after all Bitcointalk, and i appreciate how management has allowed such latitude and forbearance in regards to the altcoins.

Seriously Driving away traffic like this? Just create a subforum for it and ban anyone posting giveaways outside it, then lock inactive givaways problem solved
