never pinged before what are the values to enter I saw the option your talking about but wasn't sure what to enter
If you want to ping 192.168.1.50 for example:
Quote
ping 192.168.1.50

So I want to ping my IP for the s1?
If you're trying to see if its there then yes, I don't know what you're trying to do.

Can't connect to antminer s1 says this page can't be displayed when  i type the IP into the address bar. I have it plugged in to the router with Ethernet cable, IP address on side is 192.168.1.99, my IP is 192.168.2.xx default gateway is192.168.2.1 any suggestions, when I scan with angryip it only picks up my  laptop, the laptop is not connected by Ethernet should it be?

OK so I've finally connected to the interface changed IP address , entered pool info but can't figure out how to get the s1 mining

Go to Network, then diagnostics.  Use the ping and see if the S1 is connected to the interwebs.
Once its online, it should start mining automatically.  If it doesn't, something may be defective, like mine a few posts up.  Took 2 days to get through trouble shooting and Tech support.  But a replacement is on the way.
Good Luck!

Awesome thread, but i can't seem to figure something out (or I didn't see which page it was on): can we enable the admin interface on the WiFi? I have the IP, but it doesn't respond. I'm primarily interested in the web interface only. Thanks!

I'd fight Gandhi.
FWIW my miners are stable wireless since setting WAN  to DHCP. The requirement for a client router as posted on sushi reviews set up thread appears to be unnecessary for standard wifi applications.

Wow! This actually fixed my issue! I wasted a few hours trying to get all of my custom networking settings, but it just wouldn't work until now. Thanks man! Smiley

Kinda sucks that I can't pick a static IP, but I set my Hostname for each Antminer. When I pull the DHCP client table on my router, I can see my Hostnames and every corresponding MAC address and IP to go along with it. It's not too much of a hassle, and it fixes the Wireless issue.

The only real downside I can see is if someone else tries to use them they will have to hook them up and find the IP addresses off the router or do a factory reset but anyway the wifi works reliably once configured.
Nah... Just delete the wwan config, and put back the default LAN IP before selling it to someone.

This problem may have already been addressed, but I cant find it for a couple days.

I ordered 4, S1 miners. 3 work just fine, like the man said within 15 minutes.

The 4th will not start mining.  The network settings are good.  It will Ping Traceroute and NSLookup the world.  Just no mining.

I have left contact info with Bitmain and the Vendor NinjaTech.org.
No response yet so any help on this much appreciated!

Thanks

(update) NinjaTech responded Smiley  Then stopped responding Huh  Google hangouts may have gone down.

Turns out the #4 Miner is bad.  NinjaTech said something about a replacement, then stopped responding.  Since our chat went silent I don't think they will ship today.  And even if they ship it today, that a week lost mining.  I know its the risks of purchasing time sensitive material.  But damit thats a lot of money just sitting loosing money and getting more worthless every day.   Angry Cry

NinjaTech support is good.  I don't like waiting for ground shipping on replacements, but they didn't leave me high and dry.

Do you mean to access the S1 via Putty?

yes

Not I can't even get into the web gui:

/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:582: bad argument #1 to 'pairs' (table expected, got nil)
stack traceback:
   [C]: in function 'pairs'
   /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:582: in function 'createtree'
   /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:230: in function 'dispatch'
   /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:195: in function

SSH still works tho...

So, putty is SSH.... could you get in and get in the information?

Assuming this is on the shipped IP address of 192.168.1.99 and you ping this address from your PC? If what happens if you power off the S1 can you still ping 192.168.1.99?

The problem child is running at 38c, looking at the others it would have been running at 48c - so a consistent -10c. The fan you have is 103CFM and the one I've running 241CFM so the figures look about right.

Are you using that fan as a push fan and do you have a pull fan?

My bad the fans I actually have are -

http://www.digikey.co.uk/product-detail/en/AFB1212VHE-CF00/603-1340-ND/2560464

shifting 148CFM - so ~20% reduction in temps, so the figures don't seem to add up..

Yes I am running a push pull. Stock fan is pulling while new fans are pushing out. The average temp across all miners is 45c. Some are lower at 43/44 and some are around 47-48c. What is the ambient temp of your room? Mine is between 77-83F so that may be why they run a little hot.

Sorry Dogie, I should have been more clear. I reset to factory defaults and went back in to setup the S1 back up  to mine. My pool information is back in the device. I don't think it my settings, since my other two are working correctly.

I had a similar problem on mine, couple of things to check (from SSH)
1. DNS - "ping www.bbc.co.uk" you should get a response
2. Check /etc/config/cgminer - "more /etc/config/cgminer"
3. Check /etc/config/asic-freq - "more /etc/config/asic-freq"
4. Check /etc/init.d/cgminer - "more /etc/init.d/cgminer"

Maybe worth posting the results of the commands on here.
