If a person gamble and at the end of the game he starts to feel remorse is that a good thing or should the person be on alert?
Remorse is a common part of gambling. For those who haven't strayed too far into compulsive or problem gambling, at least. As a frequent gambler, you experience regret when you lose, when you gamble with money you cannot afford to lose, when you spend too much time at an online casino and your entire day seems to go to waste because you were idle, and when you miss out on something because of gambling. This could be something as trivial as forgetting your wedding anniversary, taking your parent to the doctor, skipping your child's game or performance in school, etc.  I've had regret over gambling twice. 2016 and 2018 follow. I made the decision to reduce it after it nearly destroyed my life.
People who play gambling and lose, big or small, will feel sorry for gambling. But that doesn't make some of them stop because they think it is temporary and they can win and recover their losses tomorrow. It is the wrong decision if they decide to return to gambling another day because that also does not guarantee they can get win. And the people who manage to break out of that circle should feel good that they have finally avoided the destruction that could have happened to their lives. And you are one of those people who are still lucky to be able to leave gambling before gambling destroys you.

I believe that a gambler would feel really bad and regretful if they lack self control such as when they exceed their limit of gambling budget and end up losing much more than anticipated. It's quite depressing when this realization hits imo

Moreover losing a big amount of money on gambling can lead to regret when you encounter something interesting in real life that you would like to buy, or when you come across a good service you'd like to try but lack the funds for it. If you had saved the money you spent on gambling you would have been able to afford those things. This can be truly regrettable at times. However, for me at least I accept it as it is. I don't mind much since I always put some rules for myself when it comes to gambling and I adhere to them to avoid feeling remorse later on.

I believe and really believe that many of us have experienced disappointment and regret after gambling sessions. there are various factors behind it, whether it's regret for not withdrawing the winning money which in the end loses all of our balances because we are too busy playing. either because someone regrets because the money he is betting is the money he is borrowing and is actually for other needs. and many other reasons, which in the end make us regret after the betting session we did.

The point is, this experience is a common experience among gamblers. in fact, it didn't happen just once. apart from that, gamblers who have good control are also accompanied by experience. not infrequently, they get carried away according to circumstances which in the end regret their gambling.
So, like I said, this problem is a common problem and can happen to anyone, including pro gamblers. because psychologically, sometimes our conditions and emotions get disturbed where in the end we lose full control over ourselves which has an impact when we do gambling sessions.

Especially as you said, where a gambler loses big money during his betting session. the feeling of regret comes because it is actually possible that the money could be used to pay for other needs. the point is, gamble as much as we can afford to lose which is when we experience defeat, we will not get high pressure which ends in regret. make gambling fun, if you lose today, stop for a moment and be able to come back another day.

Picture the aftermath of a soiree, but instead of nursing a pounding headache, you're left with a hollow wallet and a heart burdened with regrets. The sensation of forfeiting real-world experiences due to financial shackles, a byproduct of gambling downfalls, can indeed be a sobering revelation.

Your practice of setting and complying with gambling standards is laudable. It demonstrates a significant self-awareness and discipline - attributes frequently missing in gamblers entrapped by addiction. Therefore, advocating more strongly for "responsible gambling" seems fitting. Heightening awareness about the potential hazards of gambling and endorsing self-imposed rules could contribute positively to the discourse.

It is great that you could made a recovery after it had such negative consequences on you and your loved ones, unfortunately despite the many stories like yours in which people reveal the difficulties they had to face, there are many people out there that simply do not think that something like this is ever going to them, they fail to take any precautions and then they find themselves facing the same uphill struggle that you faced, and tragically not everyone is able to get back their previous life.

Exactly this.Every time I have gambled more than I should, money that I should not have lost,I kept depositing more and more to only feel the stress and remorse after I lost considerable amounts of money which clearly damaged me and my family. The moment I realize that this is not bringing anything good to me I changed strategy,I immediately put just 50 dollars as a maximum to play daily or weekly depending on my time and in order to extend my session game play in slot machines I kept playing with IDR so I could play a really long time with that amount and feel the pleasure of gambling not caring much if I won or lost while doing so,so in the end it all depends on the point of view and if the gambler is happy to play only small amount, kinda like not going to see a movie in weekend and gambling that money.

In the end, if you can't reach a balance between your expenses and your income, it's very likely that you'll end up in financial trouble. Gambling is not a fast way to make money, it should be, but most of us do the opposite. It may sound good when you have set limits on how much money you can gamble with so you won't feel guilty if you lose.

It is also always said to gamble responsibly so you don't regret what you have earned after the session is over. The risks of losing at gambling are very real, so if you're not gambling for money, you can play for fun at lower stakes.

This is supposed to be normal especially  when someone makes a very huge loss and maybe he wasn't ready for such losses.
I don't think  there should be a call for alarm when a person feels remorse or maybe some form of regrets after losing a money  he wasn't willing to loss and no matter how much we're  willing to lose,  when the loses come, we sometimes wish we never played that very day and if you'll agree with me that, that's the point the regrets are ready playing out.

What a person should do at this point when cases like this arises more often is have a pause from gambling and also trying g to figure out where the problem is coming from and also trying to have a budget for gambling and also trying  to see gambling as a game rather than a get rich quick scheme.

If a person gamble and at the end of the game he starts to feel remorse is that a good thing or should the person be on alert?

Hello fellow Bitcointalkers & Saheedu,

It's indeed a compelling question that taps into the core psychology of gambling. Remorse after gambling could be seen from two angles.

On one hand, feeling regret or remorse might signify a healthy consciousness about one's actions, especially if they've overstepped their set budget or time limit. This remorse might inspire them to reassess their approach to gambling, which is a positive outcome.

On the other hand, if remorse is a constant companion post-gambling, it could indicate that the individual is not gambling responsibly or perhaps is in conflict with their own values or financial situation. This would be a clear red flag and sign that they should step back and evaluate their relationship with gambling.

At Chipstars, we firmly believe in responsible gambling. It's paramount that the activity remains a form of entertainment and does not become a source of regret or financial distress. We've established various measures to promote this, such as setting betting limits, self-exclusion options, and resources for getting help with problem gambling.

All in all: Remorse can be a useful tool for self-reflection and readjustment, but if it's a frequent emotion experienced after gambling, it might be time to step back and reconsider one's approach.

Remember, at Chipstars, we want our players to enjoy the experience, and that means gambling responsibly and within their means.

If a person gamble and at the end of the game he starts to feel remorse is that a good thing or should the person be on alert?
Everyone has regretted after gambling, especially when they are addicted. I'm not drunk, I don't play women, but it's really bad when I play gambling. And now I really want to stop gambling, debt is everywhere because of gambling, I often lie to my family and good friends, and lastly, business has stalled a little.

Just a suggestion, it's okay to play gambling but you have to be able to control yourself so you don't get addicted to gambling. Gambling as a stress reliever and as entertainment.
Unfortunately, most people don't take gambling as a stress reliever or as a way of getting entertained for a little while, people take gambling as a way to get a lot of money with a small amount of money they have which barely happens and then they come disappointed and might even think of trying again with more money, and that is what keeps them coming back and finally make them addicted to it.

If everyone takes gambling as a way of getting entertained or spending some time while having fun, there would be no gambling addicts and everyone would be happy, the casinos will be getting their money, and might not be as profitable as now but they can manage, and gambling addicts would be free from this curse.

Your belief in recasting gambling as mere entertainment to counter addiction is unfortunately, a reductionist view of a multifaceted issue. Addiction roots run deeper than a gambler's outlook.

Consider the neurochemistry involved. Gambling sparks a dopamine release in our brain, this 'feel-good' neurotransmitter is linked with pleasure and reward. The mere prospect of victory can ignite an adrenaline rush and dopamine surge, brewing a potent neural mix that can morph into addiction over time.

Also, the sporadic wins in gambling set a reinforcement pattern prompting compulsive gambling, overriding the initial intent. Thus, changing views about gambling can only curb some risks, not resolve addiction. Broad strategies involving public health measures, education, and improved mental health services are important

There will be regrets like that but in the end it's not something to regret either.
When we are already in gambling, indirectly we are also aware that all risks are responsibilities that must be faced, including defeat. So in this case we don't need to regret when we have gambled because indeed it won't be useful either, it's just that in this case there may be several factors in regret that must be done such as lack of self-control when gambling and taking all forms of actions that are not for enjoying gambling, but with emotion and hoping for this win, I think it's worth regretting, but when indeed we gamble, it's according to the portion we do and doesn't violate it, such as making continuous deposits, then indeed when our portion is fulfilled and we have fun in it, I think it's not must be regretted because we also get pleasure feedback regardless of the losses we have.

Losing certainly feels bad. I know the feeling of losing a lot of money due to my stupidity but that has not stopped me from losing even more money in the all-too-near futures after that. Just put it out of your head and not dwell on it too much. Otherwise you start thinking you can win your loss back but end up losing more money...

You're right, I think we've all experienced at some point that things like this, losing because of a bad move feels ugly, sometimes with sadness, anger, of course that turns into remorse with the desire to have a feeling of revenge, and that Sometimes you have to control it, sometimes we must humbly accept that we lose when we gamble, it is the best, since seeking revenge or chasing losses is the worst, because that turns into continuing to lose money, and that is not correct, because gambling In a casino it should be synonymous with fun, but not with pressure, stress or something that turns into a nightmare.

Exactly, if gambling is seen as a recreational activity instead of a get-rich-quick career, then people will have a easier time to stop themselves before they make an expensive mistake, all because their emotions got the best of them. Thats really what takes the fun out of gambling- losing all your money because you could not control yourself during a moment of extreme emotional state. But we are all only human so it is better to prepare ourselves before going into the casino in the first place.

I set up firm rules and follow them. The rules regard the amount you are comfortable losing per day and the amount of time you spend gambling. There should definitely be rules and limits, otherwise we lose control quite easily.
Being prepared and always planning how much you can afford to lose is consistently better to maintain good self-control and avoid extreme emotions that result in regret.
With a predetermined plan and always consistent with what has been planned, gamblers can always enjoy what they get from gambling, such as defeats or wins, they can always accept it with joy.
Because this gambling is a place of entertainment that should be fun, not regret.

Absolutely, loss is part of the game, and its acceptance safeguards us from the treacherous cycle of vengeance gambling. However, your view banks on players having the emotional wisdom for self-discipline.

Also, consider the socio-political undertones of your stand. By pushing "gambling as fun," you're aiding giant casinos that glorify gambling. For them, its a goldmine, but for others, it morphs into a compulsive demon.

Therefore, I endorse stricter oversight and public enlightenment about gambling hazards. A community-centric strategy, mixed with personal duty, is the future.

In order to avoid those feelings of regret setting a budget is a must, after all if you determined beforehand how much money you are willing to spend gambling and the amount that you do indeed spent is at that level or below then there is nothing to regret as everything is going according to your plan, however this can be difficult to do, especially if you have never tried using a budget before, but given enough time this will become second nature to you and those feelings will disappear.
of course with a small amount. because sometimes someone who has planned a budget for gambling but with a slightly large amount will still have a feeling of regret after losing and losing all of his budget. so this plan must always be minimized to a very small amount so as not to cause regret.
after that, don't go to gambling too often because even with a small budget but always going to gambling every day you will definitely regret it because it will count all your losses in a few days.
but at the core of all these problems the most important thing is to always learn to control yourself and be responsible for all the bets that have been determined.

It's normal that we felt remorse after gambling everytime we loss an amount. Because we cannot force ourselves in to calm mode, when we are in Lossing. And mostly we can say that what a wasteful bet hope next time we won't lose again. In the world of gambling we must know and put in our mind that we gamble what we afford to lose so that we can not feel romorse every after bet.
