aka JAGEND.
Can i translate this one to my local board (Indonesia)? Once a week I post a BTC movement analysis (link). There is a question from one of the members on our local board about futures. He was surprised, why in futures by only issuing 100 USD(T), you can already have 1 bitcoin. Even though the price of 1 bitcoin in (for example) binance  is around $ 9200 (rate based on the date this post was made). And by chance, I found your thread was discussing about futures. Maybe when I publish the translated thread in our local board, there will be some modification.Especially  the risks that will arise when we do trade in futures.

I just finished translating fillippone's latest topic added to OP, Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask!. As usual, it is very interesting to read his analysis and a great opportunity to learn new things.

I also take this opportunity to bring a heads-up to other translators about the difficulty in translating this topic.

[...]
Now, after finishing all the six topics, I can say the following:
Comprare Bitcoin senza KYC: Bitcoin Bancomat a Milano rispettoso della Privacy (from Italian) and #meritislife: how to be notified on a smartband of merits and mentions are the easiest to be translated
- 5 Resources to teach Average Joe about Bitcoin is also easy to be translated but, as fillippone already said, it is tricky: the hard part is to find Bitcoin-related sites in your languages and to insert them in the translation instead the existing one; the rest of the topic is easy to be translated
- Everything you wanted to know about BTC futures but were afraid to ask!, Everything you wanted to know about BTC options but were afraid to ask! and Stock To Flow Model: Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity are the most difficult to be translated (and also the longest ones: they have, in this order, 3800 words, 4300 words and 2800 words). For those interested in translating these topics I advise to proceed with great caution. Although I knew most of the terms, I did not know them all (nor in English, nor in Romanian). Therefore I had to study, to understand the meaning. I had to make deep researches on the Internet in order to properly understand the meaning of the terms (mostly economic terms, but not just economics - in the topic related to BTC futures there is a long paragraph with technical terms from oil industry, for example; I never heard before about "Reid vapor pressure" or "Saybolt Universal Seconds"). After understanding the terms in English, I had to find proper translations in Romanian. Being technical terms, some of them are used in Romanian as in English (example: put / call options); some of them had specific translations though. You have to make sure that you understand all these terms and that in your language exists or not specifics words for the technical terms (stock to flow, call, put, long, short, strike, spot etc.). These three topics only took me about ~30h of work, necessary for the translation per se, but also for research on the Internet and research for terms in my own language.

Due to the above mentioned details, in order to make sure you'll perform a correct translation, you need first to make sure that you really understand the terms.

In addition to my previous heads-up, "Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask!" follows the same line as the other three difficult topics ("Everything you wanted to know about BTC futures but were afraid to ask!", "Everything you wanted to know about BTC options but were afraid to ask!" and "Stock To Flow Model: Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity"). The topic is long (it has ~3900 words) and uses technical terms specific to trading and economics. It took me more than 10h for translating it, making sure not only that the translation is correct and complete, but also idiomatic. The topic refers to some parts of the other three articles, therefore it would be easier for any translator if he would translate first the other topics and only afterwards to work on this one.

This way, the translator would (1) get accommodated with the terms, (2) get accommodated with the translation of the terms in his / her mother language and, as a consequence (3) the translation of this last topic would be a bit easier. Not easy, but easier Smiley

I hope the above hints will help the other translators and it will ease their work.

I was not aware about this article:
Everything you wanted to know about Grayscale BTC Trust but were afraid to ask!.

@fillippone: is this article also a part of the topics you want to have translated in other languages? I'm asking because I knew I translated all the topics mentioned in OP, but this one is not mentioned there. Besides, it also doesn't have the ending part written in all the other topics meant for being translated (the part with "Help me translate this topic in your language").

If you need this topic translated as well, I'd suggest to add it also to the OP Smiley In any case, please let me know. I'd like to translate it in Romanian too.

Well,
when I started this thread I thought to submit  only thread with a certain amount of merit (100 I think).
So this post is not eligible (yet).

Apart from that, you don't need my permission to translate a post in your board if you think it is useful! Just do, and please follow the usual rule of clearly stating it is a translation of a post of mine.

Also, if you like, you can notify me of your work, so you are sure it doesn't get lost in the notification flow and it is properly reported for all to see!

So, if you like that post and you wish to translate it, please do, don't wait for my approval!

Hi again fillippone,

I really liked your article about the Mention and Merit Bot on the smartwatch I had to translate to the german section and order myself one of the watches. Haha.

#meritislife: Erwähnung und Merits auf deinem Smartwatch erhalten

I gotta say you really made my choice on which smartwatch to buy pretty easy. I have been on this board for a while but just recently found it again and decided to be active.
The mention Bot portion of it makes it very interesting to make sure that no questions/answers  that are related to me go unanswered.
Of course the Merit Bot is a nice touch, but Im still a small one here to receive alot of those messages. Haha!

Thanks for sharing the detailed post!

Very much appreciated and I will be sure to share the watch on my wrist with activated Notifications!

Nicely done @Maus0728, I feel like I could understand now better this topic if I read your superb translation. At first I am insisting to do this but when I read the topic its somehow needed a huhe understanding and time to dig in some terms. But I admire that you managed to translate it on our language. To be honest I am not so good on Tagalog grammar and translating this would give me a lot of headache.

The topics focus on limited supply and how it affects the price based on broad factor. But when I read the original post of Filippone, I admit I just understand 70% of the whole post but Im not saying the post is not good its just too technical for me to easily grasp basic trading terms which are new to me.

Good Day fillippone,

Stock-to-Flow Model: Pag-aaral sa halaga ng bitcoin gamit ang limitadong supply

Above link is the translation of your post about Stock-to-Flow Model: Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity. in our Pilipinas Local Section. I hope that I made some valuable impact to your vision of how important translating your post in every local section.

I admit that I learned a lot from your post and I am very grateful about it. Imagine that you made me watch a lot of video resources and listened to a few podcast every night regarding Stock-to-Flow Model.

Here are some of the realization and disciplined I got in translating one of your posts.
- I understand now the basic concept of stock and flow and how it can affect the the price in the next coming years.
- The linear regression of log peaked my interest to deeply study the calculation of bitcoin pricing. I will further study this topic since it confuses me a lot. It's like noodles inside my brain Grin
- Thanks you for clarifying what is the idea of this phrase. "is halving priced in?" I learned a lot and made my translation simple and easier.
- Additionally, the term "unforgeable costliness" makes it difficult for me to translate in our language but fortunately, when you gave me a hint thru PM, it gave me an idea on how to explain it clearly without altering the concept.

Thank you so much @fillippone for giving me the permission to translate one of your great post. Wink

"5 Resources to teach Average Joe about Bitcoin"

The main thing is, A few links I've found the respective source in Portuguese, a few Other even in English I've left there.
I exchanged the videos for a really good playlist in Portuguese and added a little glossary about some sentences.

Greetings fillippone,

Is there anyone in the Pilipinas community who requested to take a mandate from you to translate this well written article of you which is Stock To Flow Model: Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity. I have a lot of time at my disposal and I am planning to create a translation of our Local Board Pilipinas, and I think I am going to learn a lot from this articles of yours about the economic effects of scarcity nature of bitcoin.

If you allowed me do to so, Is there any deadline? But of course, I am going to finish this translation as soon as possible.
Don't worry, go ahead.
Take your time, don't rush.
No need to ask permission, just say you are interested so others interested in the same translation don't do the same work!

I agree in fact we'll thank him but it's better to translate in your own language you do not got to learn to translate into your own language you'll choose English to translate the simplest posts on the local board. Everyone understands English and most of the people translate into English you would like to know before you'll translate any language attempt to understand by looking well before you'll translate I even have not heard of any such local board where translation are often done.

Been there done that. Actuallt all those resources by fillippone is really outstanding topics. I did once of his created topic but it took me more than a week to cover translation on my own language, cause in doing translation, you might need to have some knowledge on what you are translating and the hard part there is doing it on your own languge.

I believe you, cryptoaddictchie. If you remembers, I estimated initially it will take me 1 week to finish all the translations.

Hello fillippone! I'll translate in Romanian all your topics written in English. I hope to finish by the end of next week.

But I was wrong. The first translated topic in Romanian was on March 10th (I believe I started working on it on the same day or 1 day before) and the last one on April 20th. So it actually took me not a week, but a month and 10 days. Working hours though (meaning the actual labor) were around 30 or so for the difficult topics and probably another 10h for the other three.

Indeed, fillippone's materials are outstanding. It would be a great loss in case they wouldn't be translated in an accurate (and also idiomatic) manner. That's why I spent all this time: to make sure the work is thorough, as I'm sure you did as well. I encourage you to keep going with the other topics! Your people will certainly thank you.

I understand it is difficult to find resources in your own language, but that is the whole point of the thread!

This is correct. Having no idea with the works your translating will lead to a worse translation. Damn, your so hard working mate, I only did one but my head aching much already. Haha

@ZaraCB - we appreciate the effort, but do it well and dont think about the rewards of merits from this. With or without it, If you really concern on doing this, you must study the topic and do it with your best shot. How can you help your local language if they will be just confuse with it?

Recently I managed to finish also the last translations remaining from OP (in Romanian):

- Everything you wanted to know about BTC options but were afraid to ask <=> Tot ce voiai să știi despre opțiunile BTC dar îți era teamă să întrebi
- Stock-to-Flow Model: Modeling Bitcoin's Value with Scarcity <=> Modelul Stoc-Flux: Evaluând Bitcoin Bazat Pe Raritatea Sa
- Comprare Bitcoin senza KYC: Bitcoin bancomat a Milano rispettoso della Privacy <=> Cumpără Bitcoin fără KYC: ATM-ul Bitcoin din Milano care respectă anonimitatea.

It's been a great challenge to finish all the topics suggested by fillippone and I'm so glad I made it!

Now, after finishing all the six topics, I can say the following:
- all of them are very well documented and there's a lot to learn from each of them. Although I knew a part of the information, I did not know all the content stated in each topic, thus it was a great opportunity for learning many new things from fillippone!
- for those interested to translate these topics in their own language, Comprare Bitcoin senza KYC: Bitcoin Bancomat a Milano rispettoso della Privacy (from Italian) and #meritislife: how to be notified on a smartband of merits and mentions are the easiest to be translated

ZaraCB, there is no need to actually translate the sites mentioned by fillippone in his topic, lol. That would also mean to create new sites, nobody can ask you that.
What you need to do is the following: instead of the sites mentioned by fillippone asresources, you should find some sites (resources) in your language and mention these ones in your translated topic instead. Practically, you should change any site mentioned by fillippoone (for example: Binance Academy) with a link from a site from Bangladesh or whatever is the language of the translation. Of course, a site related to Bitcoin.

He is actually want to get merit, you can look in his merit history... He get 10 merit from giveaway thread. He is forcing himself to get more merit in fast ways, it's why he is translating many thread. Honestly this guy is not a translator, but he want to translate for merit only.

No offense @fillippone, I didn't blame you, I just say what I thought about him. Don't give any merit to not complete translation and you can delete my post if you think I'm spamming. Thank you

It is really difficult to translate all the resources into my local language.

Who force you to translating fillippone thread? If you can't don't do it!

No blame in willing to increase merits.
I was just trying to figure out how that translation could be useful.
@ZaraCB I didn't mean you to translate also the linked article, but to find NEW articles in your own language.
