Money, but there are some exception to that like if someone you care is facing serious problems I think even if you show him what you earn it will not inspire him, for those instance you should be at his/her side until he/she get backed to his/her self.

One way of motivating a person to work is giving them credits on their job. Accomplishing their job must be appreciated that makes them work more hard. To motivate a perso at work are be always happy, think positive, if their is a problem always smile dont stress yourself and most of all always think God and also your family to get strength.
I think the best way is to inform him/her which he or her earn from work. Its all about personal result. Not just money but knowledge, or relationships or whatever they want to achieve in their life or help them to achieve something. you have to show people their benefit from that work if you want them to put maximum effort on that

Person who have a weak character needs to be fire up. Some people have a great potential and talented but sometimes is not easy for them to have a job. Because those people must have a strong guidance to push and push and push until they realize their unique potential talent that can lead them to richness. People needs to be enlightened in order to cultivate their own treasures. Give responsibility to the person that due to his ability.

One of the ways to motivate someone to work is to inspire them with your words, give them motivational words for them to do their best. You can also give them rewards, surely they will be motivated to do their works.
Communicate properly with your employees. Always tell them your goals and your purpose. People should be reached out so that they can see the intention. Let them be part of the task not by just controlling them what to do.
The best way to motivate people to do more is reward, and usually is incentives, but to motivate someone, that person also need to open their mind, tell them successful story and what will they achieved in the future if they do more works, people usually will get more inspired if the one that giving advice is a successful person and that person start from zero
I feel like you answered your own question. I don't think it is anyone's responsibility so all you can do is inspire with your energy.
Motivate by making them realize what they can still do or how they can do their best while still having this life living.
