Living good life is motivation to another. If you want to motivate someone you need to motivate yourself first. Live a good life enough to attract him/her. so he/her might want to live like you
When he/she works hard, you should give him/her a certain reward as a way to motivate. When he/she starts to relax, I think that he/she can be motivated by language communication!

If you're the employer, I think the best way to motivate your employee is to empathize. Know what they're going through, how they feel towards the job, and give rewards if needed. Also, I think it will lead to the kind of leader you are and style in leading. Check the performance rating. OTH, if you're the employee who feels demotivated to work, I think you have to reevaluate the reason why you started the job and decide if you're still happy doing that.
