I don't understand why many people say they lost some of their money ... prices fell but the coins remained until you sold your coins, so you have not lost anything . just wait

Bitcoin lover!
So I basically got fomoed. Towards the end of 2017 I saw how high bitcoin skyrocketed and decided to invest in ripple as a test. Less than one week it went up 3x. This made me more ballsy and I put in 11k total in various other alt coins like ripple, ethos, tron, and cardano. After the crash I lost about half of my value just like that. I am frustrated with the experience and wish I would have just put in 1k or something. I wish I could just not invested and went into what I was doing earlier which was just investing the boring and traditional way. Should I wait and hodl or pull out and do something else?
You did it right, you just chose not a very suitable time for this. The coins you have mentioned are quite promising and therefore if you do not sell these coins for a while, then in time, when the crypto-currency market starts climbing again, you can get a pretty good profit. Just need to be patient and expect the market to rise.

I would not suggest you sell. At the moment you have a paper loss but if you sell you will realise that loss. Is it possible to change into other coins that may increase faster and above the price you paid? If you believe they will not drop further then if you do not exchange it is probably best to hold for recovery. Many investors in stocks would buy more after a crash to lower the average price paid so recovery price would not be so high. Only for the brave though.

I advise you not to get upset very much. And try to take it and get out of the situation. Think about how you can make money in the crypto currency. And start all over again. Good luck to you

Many people are in the same situation, myself included. I got in just before all the major hype, rode the wave all the way up... And all the way down again  Grin I not have considerably less than I began with, but oh well that's the crypto market! HUGE swings either direction, you just have to have the belief that the market is going to progress long term, otherwise I'd take your money out now if you don't even believe in the market.

It's not an easy situation, but I think a quick rise will be paid with great correction, sooner or later.
Diversifying is very important, buy 10% then if it goes lower another 10-20%, the easiest way to loose is to invest too much in one thing.

To be honest your not just the one that have this kind of problem. Most people do specially those who invested last year during the hype of bitcoin including myself. I think the first thing to do is to stay composed and relax. Remember that you already lost a lot and if you decided to quit, you'll lose everything. Hold until you gain something.

If that's the case, face the consequences and be firmed in holding into your tokens. The dunps in the market are just temporary therefore, increase is always expected to happen after a couple of weeks. Just avoid selling in order to avoid complete loss of profit. Once the market starts to rise, profit will be again earned so we just have to be patience and calm about the uncertainties regarding with the market volatility.

the crypto-currency market does not forgive fuss. Relax and keep coins for 1-2 years. In 2020, the ethereum can reach 5k, bitcoin 50k is my personal forecast

the best way to make your portfolio back is to hold because if you sell now then you will regret, be patient as the market will regain growth for some time to come

Sorry to hear that. I honestly think alot of people are in the same situation as you are. Selling at a loss is not an option in my opinion because some point in time it will go back to the price you bought it.

Iam the same situation but i just relax and wait the market change to up trend, if you have skill and some strategy, you can trade it so the amount of money can be increasing with buy and sell many times , but if you dont have times for that and your purpose use that money for long term investment, so just hold it in minimum 1 year. In the end of 2018 the market will be growing again.

Simply hold and take unwind, as I would like to think on March the crypto market will change to uptrend, and not every one of the circumstances the market will remain in the present cost and they will move and going up. So simply sit tight patient for that, and you on gliding less as well as there are numerous dealer and financial specialist are a similar circumstance.

Now almost all investors in the same situation, some even worse.  Since January, we see a drop in the market.  And now the only option is to wait when the cryptocurrency starts to grow again, because I do not see the point in selling with such a loss.

The most important thing is not to give up and understand that you still have a chance to earn something that you lost or earn even more, but do not forget that you have already lost some of your deposit. In any case, you can always go out.

Hodlers recognise dumping their well earned cryptos with losses of more 60% can be very unnaceptable. Nevertheles, it normally may be the only conclusion to a bear drop.

unfortunately, your problem is most common among beginners. the euphoria of quick money and make the most of the new players wasting their money and time. The main thing is where to start in this field is to invest your time in self-education if you do not learn from the mistakes of others by studying this forum, you'll be sure to make my own mistakes.
diversification is the first lesson of the investor. learn investment strategy be reasonable don't invest all your savings in one asset, it's not far-sighted. the best investment strategy is to invest in knowledge learn and learn the crypto currency market it is much more diverse than only two of your proposed examples

No need to be too lamented the fate. Should soon rise. and think how to loss you get could be immediately replaced. You can participate in focus the bounty or mining. It could also invest in ICO. Or do trading for more profit.
