I agree with you that this loss would not only hurt the English team psychologically in the future but it will make them vulnerable in this tournament. Both Aussies and England won only 1 out of three matches and OZ at the bottom of table, tomorrow they are facing against SL which is really important for both the teams to keep their names in top 4.

Maybe you didn't watch the whole game, but I think Afghanistan's batting performance was very good today, and they got good runs. Afghanistan today scored 284 runs for the loss of all wickets, which was really interesting and at the moment it looks like Afghanistan is on the verge of winning. After the end of 31st over now I can say that yes the first big upset is going to happen today. Brooks is still on the field but the required run rate is going up after every ball. England wanted to copy the strategy that India had put in place yesterday, they never thought that Afghanis would bowl way above average. The required run rate increasing in every overs and England batters are batting under pressure right now. Facing a strong bowling lineup is not an easy job for tailenders. Harry Brook is the one who has to finish the innings for England. He should stay in the crease no matter what other batters do. But as pressure increases because of the run rate, he will be forced to play big shots which is risky against Afghan bowlers. But, England does not have a 2nd option at this moment. Afghanistan is doing good against the English bowling attack as of now. 95 without any loss of wicket is a good start for them. Gurbaz has already on 60+ runs and is looking good. Delhi pitch has always favoured batters and I was surprised to see England choosing to bowl first. It seems they want to chase and improve their net run rate as they are down on 5th on the point table. If they win today they would need a good net run rate to be in the top 4 of the point table.
The Afghanistan team gave a target of 285, which is a very high and good target. In this innings, we see that it is similar to Pakistan's previous match because if you see that first Afghanistan played very well and suddenly one player of Afghanistan was out and then all the team went out, and this same thing occurred in yesterday match when Babar Azam out then all team out but, Afghanistan team reached a very good target and Pakistan didn’t reach a good target but, this is not a match of Pakistan, so we need to talk about today’s match Afghanistan vs England. I think that Ben Stokes can do something for their team to reach the target, if he bats longer and take his team towards the target.
