This is one of the most addictive parts of gambling, the seed in a gamblers mind that they have any influence in the outcome of unskilled games and that a streak of losses means that eventually the game should start paying out. Keep gambling to a small and fun outlet where you expect to lose every penny you put in, that is the right mentality to have. Every gambler must have felt it, not only in games like dice, I personally even felt like I had control over a football match after I won bets there in a row. You know Tottenham's match when they faced Brentford?

I confidently placed a bet in the 25th minute of the match and was sure that Tottenham would score their second goal in the first half, not long after that, Brennan Johnson scored for Tottenham. It didn't stop there, after the match went on without any more goals until the 75th minute, I placed another bet on over 3.5 total goals, then again James Maddison scored for Tottenham Cheesy

This was also common when I used to play with physical dice. Some of us used to believe that shaking the dice at specific times resulted in wins. There may also be some superstition associated with the belief that we can control or influence the outcome of the game by acting in a certain way while gambling. Gambling is primarily based on luck; these patterns may result in a few wins, but there is no guarantee that such wins will be consistent. Having this mentality should be discouraged because it can lead to excessive gambling.

This is true 100 with the luck-based game where it totally relies on the RNG result. This kind of game does not need a skill or whatsoever, they just need luck to win. I do not know why people think they have a control over the result when they themselves can't even tell the next result of the luck base game.

But on the game that requires skill, I think the control on the result here is somehow not an illusion because with proper thinking and strategy, the player can lead himself to his wanted outcome.

Maybe it's more about Gambler's Fallacy(?), which is a case where a gambler believes that a random event is less likely or more likely to happen based on the outcome of a previous event. Usually gamblers are often like this where they believe that if they choose A then it will happen based on their experience, but the reality is that they actually lose, because it is very difficult to predict the outcome of the gambling. This kind of thinking error often makes gamblers experience quite a lot of losses and in a row, because they are too confident in what they believe and assume that the gambling is under their control, when in fact it is not.

Nobody can control the outcome of gambling unless they're manipulating it, gambling is supposed to be based basically on luck. Most casino games like slot and dice are based on luck, there's no special skills that is involved to play and win, so any feelings of being in control while playing can as well be seen as illusions. But skills can be involved in sports bet, if a bettor understands teams strengths and weaknesses, it can guide them to analyze matches. Being overconfident and having a feeling of being in total control during gambling can lead to chasing loses and degenerate to addiction.

even though dice is usually looked at as a complete luck based game, you could know some patterns as a dice player and overtime you tend to get similar outcome from the dice by using that same pattern. At least for dice I'm certain that it's one game we play frequently even without making use of money and it's usually the case that you command a certain number to come out and it does come out.

While playing you hear stuff like, Double 6! and most times it comes out that way. We've come to almost believe that when you command a particular number that the number must always come out while if you're casual, random numbers alone are the things that will regularly come out. Apart from purely luck based games, any other game that's not dependent on just your luck like the usual football games, what you believe in doesn't even matter. After believing that a game will go in a certain direction, The players will go to the Field and play what they want to play and bring back a result that's totally based on thier performance and not what you say, think or believe.

I was smiling when reading you post because what you said about calling out the number that you want when rolling a dice and the number appears is just luck and it doesn't mean that it was your believe that made it happen. The reason why I said this is because, there are also times that you will call those numbers and the outcome will be different. I have also rolled dice in that way, there are sometime that for you to get a six will be very difficult and maybe after 30 rolls is when a six will appear. What I am pointing out is that it is illusion and nothing more because your win is based on luck be it skill game or non skill game.

Maybe you are talking about being delusional in terms of feeling and knowing that you could continue gambling and then win a jackpot.
