It is not that much easy to get merit. At present except posting quality posts no option left for all members to get promoted. And the fact is seventy present of the bitcoin forum members don't know and practice proper English including me. So this is not going to be easy our life. Only  time has to tell about the future.

There are some smerits review by the people in this forum on services section. So you guys may try to share your post which are all you think as a quality post but still begging is not that much recommended.
Just write and ask to review your post post. If the op like the posts you may get the more number of merits from that person.
Good luck for it and then concentrate on the technical related assistance thread. That may bring more number of merits.

A strange innovation. How do I get 10 merits, it's still clear, but what's next? 100 merits is generally unrealistic, I keep silent about the next ranks. I'm upset with this
Hey buddy don't upset with it. You have to just be a quality poster for get merits. I know it's caused difficulties to get these much merits but it's not impossible. So i suggest you to just forget about the merit system and make some constructive posts.you will definitely get some merits . But after make quality posts, if you didn't get any merits then you can post your constructive post's link into some special merit giveaway threads so you can eaisly get merits and rank up your profile.

especially when you do not know English well
This post is a load of horse shit, and it almost burns my eyes to look at it.  And if you don't know English very well, you've got no business posting in the English section and, I would add, no one is going to give you merits for posts that look like yours does.  You just throw random punctuation around like it's candy at some demented fucking halloween party.  The correct words are there for what it looks like you want to say, but they're in the wrong order.  It's completely sloppy.  How would you like it if I came on your forum and used Google translate to start writing in your language how nobody is appreciating my brilliant posts and that I continue to go unmerited?  You'd likely have the same reaction I'm having to users like you.  Why are any of you surprised that you're not getting rewarded for this?

It is difficult to earn merit for those new in jr member, because sometimes their post did not read of merit source and even a higher rank. Although they are already posted a few quality post.
This post makes no sense to me, has all the earmarks of a generic shitpost, and you're going on ignore.

You post on the legal and economics boards, and those are useful and valuable
I would argue that Economics is turning into another Bitcoin Discussion, where some of the worst shitposting offenders call home.  It is indeed unfortunate that these people have started infiltrating Meta, but I suppose it was inevitable.  My response is to keep hitting the ignore button on them.  Not that they'd have a chance anyway, but by doing this they are ensured to never receive merits from me.

You are right! Unfortunately, quick responsive spammers realized the fact, then they adapted, switched their favorite places (boards) from altcoins (bounties, ann, discussions) to Meta board.
That's terrible to see hundreds of shitty threads from them (and of course dozens of shitty topics) in Meta board after the launch of merit system
I think your difficulty highlights one of the current problems with the merit system, and Theymos has posted that he is aware of it, and is acting to rectify the situation. You post on the legal and economics boards, and those are useful and valuable assets to Bitcoin Talk in my opinion.

That's good if you have good original intention to contribute to forum this way. I believe that on all boards / child boards in the forum, we can definitely can see valuable, helpful threads; but they are extremely hard to find intentionally mainly because they are covered by tons of shits. We can only see them by chance.
Unfortunately they are not frequented by the merit awarders, and one of the reasons that Talk Merit was created was to allow Jet Cash the time to spend on both of those boards, and hopefully he can award merits where they are deserved.

Merits are given to users who used to post constructive and useful topics. But the hard thing is how to earn those merits? Sometimes even if a user posted a good quality post, others do not care to give merit, or maybe those that are able to give merit doesnt have a chance to read that post. Because of that merit requirement, we cannot rank up. Even i have a problem with that. I only have 12 merits for now and still need to have 88 merits to have a full member rank. And i think i will be stuck on this position. I think the best thing i can do is to improve my post amd work hard to get those merits.

A difficult task these merits, especially when you do not know English well...in the regional branches there are many greedy!
Even there are times when you realize that you are wasting your time here in vain, because many do not appreciate .. Although they have the opportunity to do it ..
I would have  made mandatory ,that people evaluate others..Many here Those who do not benefit others by keeping them!
Many people got their  high rank  simply, that they were registered before, and not because of their efforts and comments that make a huge sense to the community ... even Vitalik Buterin  He did not get many merits he did more than many legendary here..., although he is worthy of it ... this shows the whole essence of the system !
Complaining about merit system and it drawbacks, current drawbacks can help you to move up. The system has been here to help us, and to let spammers down. Good luck and keep moving forwards. You should change and never give up easily due to merit system.

Try to look at this redundant post. I dont get it, how did he got 50 merit for that lol. Go find out yourself bruh.
A guy who is posting only in gambling section suddenly give all his merit to anew member for such weak post. There is no doubt that here we have a case of merit trading or multiply accounts. I hope you reported this case in the special thread which is concentrated exactly on such cases, this one for example: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/list-suspected-users-that-are-abusing-merit-30-2896910

We are Bitcoin!
So I joined a signature campaign and they removed JR. Member bounties. Now I am having a problem on how to be a Member ranked. I just learned that I need 10 merits to have a member rank. So to any JR. Member here, let's do our best to make quality content so that someone will recognize our efforts in making our community better.

You need to read this post: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/faq-everything-you-need-to-know-about-forum-activity-account-ranks-and-merit-2766177

You can also consider reading the unofficial list of BitcoinTalk org rules from here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unofficial-list-of-official-bitcointalkorg-rules-guidelines-faq-703657

Hope this help.

PS: Do not misuse merits or you will be tagged with Red Trust which is not good for your account.

-Just focus producing good contents that will help the community and give some value to the forum. You need to give something to the community before expecting any return. This forum is not only for bounty hunting. Hope this helps.

PS: Although I am commenting on a one month old post but seeing your profile it obvious that you are doing things wrong or why done you still have any merit for any contents?

Interestingly this is really an issue one has to be alarmed about. If one is to consider quality in a post, what criteria is used to determine the quality scale of a post. Maybe i will have to visit the thread that talked about merit again.

I just don't see any merited posts when going through topics. I see only a little merit movement in special merit threads or when merit sources randomly give few merits. I see people are quoting each other, discussing, answering questions and nobody gives merits. Literally, I have seen no merits from newer accounts only from high-rank members or merit sources.

There are more posts about merit abuse on the board each day. I see hundreds of accounts involved in merit farming and this is just a beginning. I don't want to say that this was a good or bad decision to implement merit system. I only want to share that there is more not happy, confused users and negative reactions on the forum against merit system than positive.

If you are unlucky you will be Jr. Member for a very long time despite your high-quality posts and if you try to abuse the system you will be banned. There are thousands of great posts with no merits at all. I don't see how I can earn 250 of them if I can't get even one.

I think that every rank should be achievable for every member. Now you have to be expert in cryptocurrencies and have great skills writing in the English language to even think to be a senior member in a one and a half year of time. If you don't speak English or can't write long, breathtaking posts you are in trouble and you have to educate yourself first to achieve a higher rank on BTT today.

I don't think this is ok.

I always try to make the best post but I have not get any merit whether the post I made is not qualified it is a big problem for JR.Members and is there any masters here who are willing to give me a merit Huh

Your posts are trash (in my eyes, anyway), which is why you have no merits. Trying your hardest should give better posts than

to determine how long it depends on the market price, as all expect the selling price to be higher than the purchase price

it all depends on its people if they want to be patient and hold their assets on the market when bitcoin prices fall and wait for market prices to go back up I think all can benefit

you should be a little patient to hold your assets when the price goes down to wait for the price to go back up if you do not want to lose that much

etc, literally look at all of your last posts.

If anyone can provide a link to people giving merits after doing something good or productive please give link so I can earn merits not by asking people but because of my effort and for JR. Members to have a reference too.

Thank you so much. Have a nice day  Smiley

It doesn't mean to us Jr. Member stop hoping to rank up. I am trying my best to have some good quality post so that I'll get merit. Even we make good post if no one has a good heart or helpful one that are willing to send merit will definitely the way to get merit.
There are lots of users who have good hearts (as your words) in the forum. However, their problems are they don't have too much time to scan around the forum, boards by boards, topics by topics, and threads by threads to find high-quality, constructive, original threads which deserved merits to send their sMerits away.
The forum has covered by tons of shit (due to massive spammers), but the merit system has put them down and believe me, over time shit in the forum will decrease considerably due to merit system. Consequently, users (especially newcomers) can have more opportunites to catch by higher-ranked members; and have more probability to earm merits.
For now, you can contribute to the forum by stop making shit (if you has been made those shit), improving your quality day by day.

Earning merits is definitly way too hard. I seldomly see posts which get any merit at all. So I think the community itself has to change, we need way more long lasting members on spending sprees to give lower ranks a chance to level up.
