I have read a lot about the guidelines for posting, however it seems to me that the "quality" issue is rather subjective, than objective.  It is still a matter of a personal opinion of those who give out merit, rather than the principal of "fair for all". I mean, I have seen TMAN refuse someone merit just for the way someone called him "Sir". It is not what merit is supposed to be about, in my opinion. I believe discrimination is a world-wide problem nowadays, it is sad to see it here as well. I do hope that something will be done to achieve the "fair for all" status in this forum.

this rule is surely good for those who are already high ranks, and they welcome the rules for there will be less user to participate in the bounty to share the stakes, but i also see many hero and legendary members post shit posts, i just wonder if they can get any merits in the following times, the rule is unfair indeed!

So I joined a signature campaign and they removed JR. Member bounties. Now I am having a problem on how to be a Member ranked. I just learned that I need 10 merits to have a member rank. So to any JR. Member here, let's do our best to make quality content so that someone will recognize our efforts in making our community better.

If anyone can provide a link to people giving merits after doing something good or productive please give link so I can earn merits not by asking people but because of my effort and for JR. Members to have a reference too.

Thank you so much. Have a nice day  Smiley
There's still many bounty program that  accepting Jr. members for signature campaign, and it is not really that hard to get 10 merits if you contribute a lot in this forum. It is harder to get 90 more merits to be a Full member and 150 more to be Sr. Member and so on.
Merit system is VERY GOOD to this forum to stop spamming account and useless/out of the world response to a particular post.

In addition ill give this link to you for us to challenge our selves to make post in-line with the topic and useful post.

Hi guy,

I have read your last posts, most of them are totally shitty post (one-line threads). There are two threads looks longer, but contain same content at different topics (threads from copy & paste, certainly).
This one https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.30922069
And this one https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.30913853
What do you think if one of your last threads received merits from someone in the forum?
Something like "Wow, finally I succeed with my spamming tactics, and got merits. Now, keep doing this then more merits will come."
For me, it is terrible scenario for the forum, generally.

So please stop spamming, and try to improve your posts' quality, then you will get merits sometimes when your general posts' quality reach to acceptable level.  Wink

I also show you some interesting topics in my collection:

1) 14 merits bonuses for quality users (Jr. to Sr. Mem)
2) TMAN’s level up challenge
3) sMerits for arts
4) Point me to undermerited posts
5) Joe Jaltsen’s merit distribution thread (Newbies Welcome)
6) Earn $ and merit BTCforJoe
7) I still got 80 smerits to give away

Yes, it was too difficult to rank up, but lets do try our very best and catch the attention of the readers to obtain merits, In my part as a full member, I have long way to come up with senior member, I don't know yet if i could go beyond senior member because it seems very challenging to earn merits. But no matter what, i will continue to go on to fulfill all my needs, Smiley

I'm really having hard time posting quality posts since I'm new and don't know about cryptocurrency that much.. I guess we have to read and read more about it so we can create a good quality post. Maybe thats the first investment I can make, the knowledge about cryptocurrency and how it works. And the help of our fellow senior member in terms of replying and commenting on topics that we lack of knowledge. Hoping I can make quality posts that will merit soon!

That is the point most of the members are missing here I guess. It is more like sharpening your tool before cutting wood which increases your efficiency. If a member has failed to get a  merit point even after making 40-50 points, he needs to understand that there is some issue with his posts. There can be two problems only- either the writing skills are not good or his posts are not informative. Judging this post that I quoted, your writing skills are fine. You should work on increasing knowledge about bitcoins so as to make more meaningful replies.

for the Jr. member according to the course in order to become a member is not too difficult. that will be difficult is if the member wants to go up to the full member because it requires 100 merits, sum it up very much and could not quickly obtain.

You have already said that you are giving too much effort. That is basically just the start. Yes given the fact that you efforted alot yet haven't recognized yet, why is that so btw?

Simple lets go on to other rules. If you helped someone get the information that they needed you might receive one. The other thing is that if you have provided a very informative post with regards to the topic then you might as well to receive one. Lastly for me is the choice of topic and timing.

Timing and the chosen topic is very crucial. You have to understand that you are dealing with other people and it really needs to be a real conversion between you and the prospect. If you are posting good information on a bloated or on a spam topics in which there is absolutely no real conversion then that could be a useless posts in the end. Then if you are posting good posts to those topics that has a real conversion yet the timing is bad because they actually don't need it or it was already posted before then again it is useless.

You have to strategize. I believe that a jr.member account or below could really learn alot from this merit system. I think it could somewhat solve the spamming issue if not abused by everyone.

This merit issue does affect the ranking up of Jr Members to Member status but then if you consider some post which doesn't make sense and people creating multiple accounts just to get my returns from bounties. It's storage consuming as well as making the forum filled with unnecessary things.

It's a good thing even though it affects me too.

That sounds weird but there is still some bounty programs for even the newbies. you just have to search them

There may be some programs for newbies but still all members will want to progress to higher levels. Since, use of multiple accounts is being discouraged here, every member is trying to achieve the highest level with the main profile. For higher ranks, there is more pay per week in the signature campaign.

Again there are some members here who are not interested in signature campaign and are to trade or promote their own products or services. Such people also need a profile with rank so as to appear as an authority figure.

This is a problem associated with everyone.
So try to explore more in the forum learn more and more. And share your experience with everyone .This could be the legitimate way to earn merits quickly.
All the best

Yes I really agree that MERIT requirements makes the life of all the low ranking members of this forum very difficult and it is a big DISCRIMINATION
Cry me a river, bud.  If it weren't for all the users with noob accounts (and all the alt accounts) shitposting nonstop, we wouldn't be in this mess.  I've seen some high-ranked members making lousy posts, but it has been--by far--the lower-ranking ones who've been responsible for all the spam.

You're being discriminated against because you're required to post things that people will give merits to?  Because you're required to make an effort in order to rank up, and to be patient?  Give me a break.  You don't know what discrimination is, dude.  Get a box of Kleenex and go cry to the rest of the shitposters on telegram.

Look you won't get merits just by asking and begging people to merit your posts you have to earn those merits by making some eye-catching posts and maybe then people would definitely merit your posts, that is what the idea was but the thing is many people are complaining about still not receiving merits by anyone. you are having problems reaching Member, I need way too many merits to become a senior member. The real problem would be starting from Member to Full Member.

Yeah, and that's why Bitcoin Discussion is a spam-infested section.  The noobs who can't write anything coherent in English are all posting the same generic "bitcoin change our life because it is a decentralized crypto currency and we get big profit..." shitposts, reassembled countless times in countless permutations.   But it's all crap.

Please don't suggest that these people start infecting Meta in order to earn merit points, because that's not going to happen.

A shitpost is a shitpost, and it doesn't matter what section it's in. Meta is one of the more interesting areas of bitcointalk, and it would be a shame if it got corrupted by the moron mob.  The whole reason they never posted here in the first place is that they don't care about forum issues--and they still don't, unless the issue is the missing merits which are retarding their progress.

I think so too, it is too difficult.
I have done translation work and SCAM warnings, etc but I have never gotten it.
You need to rethink and try to focus on sections getting good number of merits. One such section is this meta section itself. But do not think that just adding 20-30 pots here everyday will give you merits. First learn about the different forum rules using the past threads. Also, go through the responses of senior members to questions asked in official thread. Give more time to this aspect and less to making posts here. Very soon, you will stat writing helpful posts and attract lot of merits.
