Yes I really agree that MERIT requirements makes the life of all the low ranking members of this forum very difficult and it is a big DISCRIMINATION for low ranking members like us, MERIT REQUIREMENT is just being imposed for the benefits of those high ranking members such as those FEW LEGENDARY MEMBERS who don't want LOW RANKING MEMBERS to be promoted to a much higher rank, they don't want members on this FORUM earn HIGHER PAYMENT just like they do they just want to keep it by themselves! So for me all I can say is that this MERIT requirements is just being made for the benefits of the high ranking members only.

Let me break your misconceptions one by one:

1) You mentioned that high rank members had imposed the merit system. Reality is that the admin made this decision.

2) There is no discrimination with any member. I saw that the admin made a thread before implementing the merit system asking for suggestions from all members regarding how to remove spam from the forum. What more do you want ? I think less than 40-50 members responded there and you were not one of them.

3) These threads complaining about the merit system are allowed here (unlike lot of other forums) and he even made some changes to the merit system.

You may want to consider your typing style Jigsawman082076.

Using ALLCAPS, once in a while, or strategically, may be o.k. to make your point(s), but if you overuse ALLCAPS, then members might chose not to read your post - and/or to conjure up negative impressions of you, which increases the probability that they will NOT merit you nor your seemingly attention hungry posts.

Also, substantively, you seem to be whining about something that the forum is attempting to achieve through its newly implemented merit policy, which is to screen out new members with potentially scammy and money grubbing focused intentions.

Surely, it's understandable that people want to make money, but if you are not really ready, wiling or able to substantively contribute to the information that is shared on the forum, then currently, under this new merit system, you are going to have increased difficulties to be able to rank up with merely the passage of time and the making of non-substantive posts.

Maybe the system will be tweaked in the future, but in essence, in this above post, it seems that you are complaining about the very thing that the forum is intending to achieve, which is the screening out of members who are not making much if any contribution.

i didn't really read and understand the merit system well but i guess its all for the forum in general. its for users so they find quality post in this forum that it won't be fill with just trash and that new users are going to also participate well.

NO trashes not much post to moderate and easy for everyone not just for the staff.

So I joined a signature campaign and they removed JR. Member bounties. Now I am having a problem on how to be a Member ranked. I just learned that I need 10 merits to have a member rank. So to any JR. Member here, let's do our best to make quality content so that someone will recognize our efforts in making our community better.

If anyone can provide a link to people giving merits after doing something good or productive please give link so I can earn merits not by asking people but because of my effort and for JR. Members to have a reference too.

Thank you so much. Have a nice day  Smiley
I have seen sooo many high quality posts around here which deserves at least a few merits, but who gets nothing because no one is sharing. So don't expect it to be easy. But good luck, and hope you make it! Smiley

really really # mrsamuelmills83
I've seen a lot of quality posts (in my opinion) do not get merit.

keep the spirit to get merit.

Nope it doesn't, simply it aims to make the Ranking System mean something or rather have meaning. Because before the system, the rank only indicates the time you've spent being active in the forum, and that's it. It doesn't say that you should improve the constructiveness of your posts in order for you to rank up.

Now I can see that it is taken into effect even if it only has been a month. Just look at those low-ranks (not trying to discriminate or being a racist) always complaining about the Merit System on how they can rank up now.

merit system has been much discussed by the bitcoiner, all confused because of how to get it by making a quality post and quality post size that is relative.

I've been reading page by page (since its only few) and most of the people replied to this thread don't really notice other people's information. To think that it is quite informative. Something like this:

Simply give merit abusers red trust. I think they should be banned (temporary, then permanent). It's hard to imagine the cases of merit exchanging from main accounts to alt-accounts, then return exchanging from alt-accounts to main-accounts, again and again.
For example:
Main account have 100 sMerits to send to one alt-account, then the alt get 50 sMerits to send back to main one, which will get more sMerits to send. Next round, main account send 50 sMerits to alt-acc, and so on like this:
Main account            Alt account
100                         0
100                         50
50                           25
25                           12
12                           6
6                             3
3                             1
And finally, over many rounds, main accounts will have 50+25+12+6+3 = 96 more Merit points
Alt-account will have 50+25+12+6+3+1 = 97 more Merits points.

In total the guy will get 193 more Merits points. It's terrible abusement. - Abusement is not a word mate

I know it's not my place to say but on the following statements and links below, from what I see it, its either begging or a charity. But if you know that you yourself have quality posts that no one really reviews them, then those links would help you earn Merits. I'm not saying that it is the only way but its a start.

This forum is huge, and no member can monitor each and every other member just to review their posts, and to consider whether it deserves Merit or not.

Anyway here it is:

This new shit of rules was recently included and making the life of newbies a hell Sad

Can I ask you why ? What you will do with the merits ? You do not even need a merit to move to the next rank (Junior member).

Here is why most of the newbies are failing to get merit:

1) They do not have much knowledge about the forum rules and are thus not able to make constructive replies here. Who will merit such posts ? I mean I have seen some of them applying in signature campaigns which are accepting members and above. They never care to read the rules and later they will complaint that the forum is partial as they are not accepted.

2) I have seen that some are not having the correct attitude as well. This is more harmful than point no 1 as it affects learning process.

Yep, you will certainly be stucked at Junior Member rank forever if you keep having such negative, shitty attitude about merit system, its mechanism, and rules of new ranking system of the forum.
Good luck for being stucked in the hell.

this rule is surely good for those who are already high ranks, and they welcome the rules for there will be less user to participate in the bounty to share the stakes, but i also see many hero and legendary members post shit posts, i just wonder if they can get any merits in the following times, the rule is unfair indeed!

This new system is not only for the good of the high rank members but also for the good of the whole forum. It is obvious that the high ranks will always be the one that will be receiving the merits since they are worthy and they are member of the forum for years now so you don't need to complain, they are knowledgeable and experienced (not all of them).

Instead of complaining, why not focus on posting some constructive ones and while you're at it try to improve your English grammar.
And we think they will give a merit to a Newbie, Jr. Member or to Member... keep dreaming guys....

This depends on what does these Newbies and Jr. Members know. I give merit to some posts that I know worthy of that merit despite of their ranks. If you will be checking my merit history, you will be seeing some Jr. Members there.

Not all of the high rank members just give merit to someone since that member is a high rank, they all have their own basis of quality posts and shit posts.

~ "New members, Newbies, Jr Members and Members don’t need any merit. They don’t have enough post history to judge so I won’t be helping them."
Wow and that's our Legend!!!!

You probably will not get any more merit or very little if you keep doing those effects (including bolding, highlighting, italicizing, etc. ). Overusing those effects will make your threads somewhat harder to read and make readers feel uncomfortable with your threads.
I recommend you to be careful before using them, and don't overuse!

Here are reason why this merit System won't work it will work for like money richer will become richer and poor will stay poor

1. Since you are Newbie/Jr. Member your post will be ignored like your tweets
2. No body values your discussions after all you are just Jr. Member!!
3. No body listens to Newbie or Jr. Member here too, you feel like home
4. All Newbies are by-default considered ICO hunters running after free Crypto and airdrops
5. Hero and Legendary are like teachers here, they rarely starts a valuable discussion but dictating and commenting on Full Member and Sr. Members

1. As a newbie or Jr Member, I had seen new members encouraging me. I think that merit sources give more preference to lower ranked members while awarding merits.

2. Personally, I read the content first, I do not check the rank or post count before reading the post.

3. All threads made by newbies gets the same number of responses like the one made by senior numbers.

4. That is true to some extent although I do not like labeling any rank.

5. You can use ignore option for any user if you believe that he is not making useful posts here.

I'm sure you will not complain. I myself if making a post or thread is not fixated on services, because it will be our burden. But I am always free to comment on a post or create a thread that I like, I never be careful when creating a thread or post but not out of post discussion. My small suggestion is, follow the rules but do not burden yourself, let it flow because someday you will benefit in your own way.

When you give a charge to people.....  things get messy then bad and then worst..... [That's why we have law, law prevents misuse of power]

Auto Pilot is the best... let the system decide.

Trust me I'm not making things up, i read this from Legendary member he clearly said. "New members, Newbies, Jr Members and Members don’t need any merit. They don’t have enough post history to judge so I won’t be helping them."
Wow and that's our Legend!!!! Sorry for thiis

I strongly believe Merit system should only start once you become Sr. Member -> Hero -> Legendary
At least let system decide who reaches Sr. Member Activity + Post are fair enough criteria

Then you gave Merit in hands of people oh great you think they are fair... Trust me I'm not pointing to you... but if you take the average its purely based on personal likeness. May be what you think is a trash or deserves a negative merit... deserves a huge credit to me... something i like may be you won't even worth it considering. So how come this merit system is working?

Who's checking for the posts which deserves a merit but no body giving them. So it went ignored because it wasn't in you watch list. That's a law and we are missing it.
