But what if we all start on 0 merit? Even if you are a senior, hero or legendary account. Let see who will reign and go on top? The high rank is already got advantage from lower bracket like us. Some high ranked is useless too when in comes of quality and constructive post.

These sort of options have been already discussed and the conclusion is that they make no sense. The merit system as it is has a lot of problems, but without it the problems for the forum would be even bigger, and random changes to the system would also only make things worse. Not an easy problem to deal with.
The introduced system of merit is very useful. Now most users try to write expanded and meaningful messages.
should merit not be used for trading, merit should be purely given to people who have good competence and have good quality comments.
Very interesting to see the reactions to the newly introduced concept of merit as an additional indicator of account maturity and quality beyond just pure number of posts / activity. While this was introduced to increase post quality it has of course created a counter movement and a market place for "trading" merit - for money.
So this is just a reminder for everyone that the introduction of merit is a GOOD thing because it will help improve the quality of this forum for everybody.
"Trading" merit will undermine this and render it eventually useless.

I agree that merit is a good thing, due to reduction of low quality posts. And trading isn't an issue, because everything is checked and controlled by forum moderators (hopefully) and they'll cut off such actions. But there are some other problems: people give merits quite seldom, if we compare to "likes" on fb, and it would be great if people truly gave merits for what they like. But the thing is - lost of people barely even read others posts, or even if they do they don't feel like meriting someone due to rivalry. I strongly agree with that. I like the conception of merit to render quality posts and avoid spammy ones. But thing is others were afraid to send merits esp for beginners like me. I hope everyone reflects and make this forum a harmonious place.
I find that most low level accounts do not have merit indexes if you do not buy or sell them, no one will do charity for you. However, in my opinion, one of the many will give the merit index if your post is of excellent quality.
merit trading is not very good, it should be able to get merit, you have to be able to correct the sentence that you gave in this forum, fix the post that you gave and try to be useful, then you can get merit.
This merit system is to determine the quality of post and avoid spam it also a tool to rank up but sometimes those merit can be abused by selling them and also by the bias merit provider that is the DT members. Cause when you give merit to someone they might report your account or put some red flag. So basically adding merit to someone is impossible.

Where is the satisfaction and reward for quality posting if you can just buy merits? Merits should be about the acknowledgement of your efforts by your peers, not about how much money you can throw at it.

It is already being said in the OP and to reiterate it, sMerit is a point system given to you by any other members on this forum that means your post is very helpful and constructive. Without Merits, you can't ranked up anymore unlike those previous days that only your activity and post are needed to rank up.
yes you are right this cannot be sold or bought in this forum, because the function of this merit has the purpose that this forum can be better when conveying information so if you want to merit you should be able to improve the quality of the posts you write here.

The merit system launched by BTT does indeed lead to trade. Before launching merit, in fact I did not agree with that, because it would cause new problems later. It is better for standby moderators to delete less useful posts and treads. This will be an added value if you have to apply a merit system that is effective. merit distribution is only for those who have higher rank on the forum. I think inorder to be fair to all. Merit system should be given only by moderators they will have the power to distribute the merit in the forum. Currently, those higher ranks are just given merit to their own account and to their friends account. The purpose of this system was defeated.
I would advise you to make that suggestions on the proper thread.
If you have proof that higher account rank is merit trading/farming to their own alt or friend's account then make proper accusations so that moderators can weight on your evidence and properly tag them, otherwise its pure hearsay and accusations without any basis, so it doesn't have any weight.

The problem of trading merit is not only due to the people eager to buy it, but also to some of the high ranking people who got a lot of smerits to start with which they would have never managed to get by the way of their REAL merit. The low quality of some of these people is now confirmed by the fact that they are selling those smerits which they didn't deserve at all. They would never sell them if they had earned them by the way of good posting.

Selling and buying merit should now be allowed here because it's very unfair to us who work hard for it. We almost think hard something that can help in this community for the sake of merits then there some members here that using money to gain it easily. I suggest to permanently ban those members who is abusing the merit system and also those members that using duplicate or multiple accounts because they're using their own merit to level their own second account which is also very unfair to us. I really don't understand why multiple accounts here is now illegal.

There is a procedure and the merit will go to the ones where it is needed.
